I purchased their screen replacement with the frame, tools, back/battery cover, and cover adhesive. This video was spot on for how to change everything on my HTC U11. I didn't use a heat gun since I wasn't worried about saving my existing back cover since it was buster. One word of advise: make sure you SIM fits back in before you put the back cover on. Mine didn't line up and luckily shaving the SIM card down on one edge solved it. Had I checked, I could have resolved this before sealing everything up.
I bought a new screen/frame and the necessary tools to replace my cracked screen a while ago. I finally began the procedure today. It took a little more time and effort than it was made to look like in the video, especially using the thin plastic sheet to loosen the back cover. But, after prying with some super fine tweezers on a corner where the frame is "see-through" plastic and some alcohol, it finally let go. The rest was pretty straight forward as described in the video. Putting on the new glue for the back cover was a little finicky, since it was not cut very well, but I managed. Also, had issues with the speaker making all kinds of noise during the testing phase, instead of the normal blip when touching the screen to make it autofocus, all I got was static/white noise. I feared the speaker had gotten damaged during disassembly, but thankfully all it needed was to be secured with the screws. Phone is working as it should, but I will be monitoring the batterylife closely, as someone else pointed out that it might not be an original screen, and battery life was poorer. But I wonder, there was remnants of old glue on one side where the battery sits, could it be an original assembly just recirculated? Otherwise I would say go ahead and replace your own screen/frame, if you are somewhat handy and have the patience necessary. Thanks Wit Rigs.
Great instruction video! Did the replacement using the witrigs screen/frame kit. Note that you still need to purchase adhesive for reassembly. Unfortunately, two of the connectors came loose from the circuit boards. Guess that was not soldered properly. So be as careful as possible while disconnecting stuff. Now, the home button of the new screen does not work. Witrigs is still checking with their technicians as they apparently have the same problem. Did somebody else face this and has a solution?
I did replace my lcd today.... unfortunately, there was collateral damage. The white antenna flex cable connector on the motherboard popped out. The thing is too small for my weak eyes to solder.....was wondering what the white cable does. The black one is fine.
After changing the display: Instead of charging the accu the ironcoloured platine below the camera gets extremly hot during the charge and the accu gains no energy. does somebody know, if only the accu is broken or could there be sth worse with the platine on top of the smartphone?
Yes, to change only the glass you need to get professional machine and skills, the the repair proccess will probably ruin the whole screen. I will recommend to change the whole screen with digitizer.
I'm confused as a termite in a yo-yo :) Between Steps 7 & 8, it looks like you were putting the phone back together, yet I saw no new "screen"(?). S/one asked about the *GLASS* ...what's the difference? The *GLASS* on mine is cracked slightly and is causing *NO* issues other than it's cracked. This is different than the *SCREEN* ? A professional is needed? I hope s/one doesn't just say they *CAN* fix it, but never have and *TRY* to do so and screw it up! Supposedly this phone is water resistant, so when it's put back together, is the factory sealing worth nothing at that point?

Hello, my htc u11 just stop working after it fot in contact with water, I know is waterproof but the screen was cracked before getting in contact with water, after minutes it stoped working, I can't even turn it on, what should I do ?
First you should power off the phone and release the battery flex cable immediately, cut off the current to protect the motherboard. Dry the water inside and package it with dry newspaper, put in into uncooked rice for 48 hours. Here is a video for detail process: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YnnhQfzW6_k.html

where can I find adhesive, or an LCD replacement inside the US with adhesive for LCD for the U11 Life? I also need an adhesive sticker in the US for the U11 Life, but only places I see is China, but I need to repair the phone within the next week without spending $50 on shipping
If HTC does the repair will it be water resistant like from the factory, because this guy says it loses its resistance if you're a "do it yourselfer" like this video. Also, if HTC does it there is no question the repair will be done right, unlike a wanna be tech guy who might screw something up even in a small way. @@TylerIsSound
@@REEFBLUENOTCH True. I ended up doing it myself. It was a huge pain in the ass and cost me about $100 bucks anyways. I would have rather just sent it in. The only thing I think these replacement parts are good for is changing the color of the back of your device. That part was just like playing with Lego's. It is nice that there are parts available though. For a long time I couldn't find anything. Phone repair shops in the US won't touch HTC phones, so it's either fix it yourself, send it in, or buy a new phone.
