Duuude.. wish I'd seen your comment when I watched this video. I bought a bluetooth adapter for nothing.... RJ how about putting a text comment on your video or something.. to correct your error.
The component for the light house power control is actually in the breakout box not the headset. I use a TPcast (wireless for the vive and no breakout box)
This is a great option for people who use the same space for 3D movie watching with a big screen and projector. The IR signal these lighthouses put out wreaks havoc with the active shutter 3D glasses. My VR room is also the movie watching "cave" in the basement, a perfect arrangement considering the room-scale VR space is full size and I have the padding of a pair of very soft two-seat couches and four mattresses hanging on the side walls (padding for the walls during VR, extra seating on the floor for kids during movies). I also have a 12ft wide screen on one wall, offset a foot or two from the play-space by a "bench" of subwoofers-speakers i front of it. I'm convinced all that padding has already saved a controller or two while playing Beatsaber or Gorn. :-) Automatic poweron/off of the lighthouses would make it get along even better. (I've been using a remote control light switch to turn them on lately, along with a string of christmas lights around the room to make it obvious when the lighthouses are on)
I still found the demonstration of the feature helpful because I couldn't tell it was working correctly. The video demonstrated that it takes a minute for the light houses to turn off.
Sorry, but you don't need a Bluetooth stick. The headset itself already has Bluetooth build into it. So the videomaker is wrong. I personally believe that it might be best if he'd set this video private or remove it to avoid any further misinformation.
it says bluetooth not available (i have a bluetooth usb plugged in) and that theres no headset detected and nothing for the trackers/controller to pair to when i try to pair a controller so idk what do please help
Confused by this. My light houses switch on and off automatically without a bluetooth dongle. Pretty sure Bluetooth is built into the breakout box. You don't need the dongle. (Unless you have a pre? I understand the pre didn't have bluetooth radio)
hello. my vr steam is setting menu is missing the update bluetooth driver.. and i dont know why. followed the steps but no bluetooth update. please help. ty
Dude, you should take this video down, you're spreading misinformation and wasting people's money. The Bluetooth connectivity is built in the breakout box. And from people's comments, it looks you're now aware of this. VR is hard enough for the average joe to set up without bad information like this.
Change the title and description, you are aware that you're spreading false information, you even answered few comments that pointed that out. The Vive Has built in Bluetooth in the breakout box YOUR PC DOESN'T NEED BLUETOOTH FOR VIVE TO WORK. you're making people waste money.
If I install the VIVE wireless module, then as per my understanding the link box/breakout box is not needed? As the connection is made wireless! Right? So that means I'd lose the bluetooth functionality as well?
