May Allah save Yasir qadhi from shaitan. No doubt he is trying his best to help modern day Muslims to follow islam, but sometimes he is deviating from the Islamic tenets which cannot be altered till the day of Qayamah. Thanks for pointing out the mistakes of Yasir Qadhi, there is no American version of Islam, Islam has to accepted in totality. I hope Yasir Qadhi takes the criticism in positive spirit. Indeed. It genuinely feels as if we all would be better off in those "medieval" times with those "medieval" scholars than in this modern day and age, as YQ quotes it. In the west, there is this "liberal" ideology epidemic. The middle east also has been a mess for some time (since the west decided to poke their noses & spread their "freedom" there). Then we have the sub-continent which is, like, the epicenter for deviant sects (extreme sufis, shias, tableeghis, qadianis etc. Everything goes). Far east also facing similar problems as the west (same cultural influences, too much idolizing the west). Wherever one looks, one finds fitnah.
Alhamdulillah, I as a lay muslim, have been learning Islam for quite sometime and firming the fundamentals. YQ has been my idol and in sha Allah will remain one as he is an ocean of knowledge. But such a statement coming from him is surprising. And Abu Ibraheem is not wrong here. He complete makes sense. May Allah guide us all.

For sure his speeches at time make no sense sadly but the point that Islam is perfect so no need to deviate from this. The problem is there are many "modern Muslims" nowadays especially from the youth and they openly accept what these speakers say. And so its even more of a danger when speakers are agreeing with such ideologies.

Yasir Qadhi does not speak for all of us (American Muslims) nor does his social media followers encompass a significant part of the Ummah in America , May Allah SWA guide us all. He had been once my favourite online lecturer and didn't realize any deviations from our faith, Islam, because I am not so knowledgable either which is why I ended watching most of his lectures. Watching this video made me sad for YQ. I am a Chemist and when I found out that YQ had a degree in Chem Engrng, I was just amazed and started to watch his videos. Thanks Ustaad for your insightful video. We need more like this. I really like your attitude towards not becoming celebrity imam as it has its own negative consequences. But we should also not ignore the positivity that comes with social media. It’s a platform where which type of content is more that would be the main stream ideology. Either it be some liberal or Islamic. Like in India, Pakistan and other Muslim nations. There are highly qualified scholar than western scholar but instead people know more western scholars than those Muslim countries, why because of there presence on internet. You are right and highly appreciable that you dont make social content to earn because it might change your attitude toward pleasing people or what not. So my suggestion is when you record what you think is right and send to other Islamic channels, like merciful servant , one path network and many others, then your word would be out and also you dont have to worry about people’s point of view.
