The Crusaders are at it again and they call upon their allies Georgia and the Armenians. Their target is a large Ayyubid city that is well defended. The Ayyubids have a strong defense with support from the Sultanate of Rum. This will be the ultimate show down. A great Crusader Siege :D Enjoy the Battle!

I'm not sure what Jund means, probably in Arabic but Ghazi, I'm pretty sure is referring to the Turkish word "Gazi" which roughly translates to the word Veteran. So it's basically the Turkish equivalent of an army veteran. Beautiful video by the way :)

biscuit....actually Louis the 9th was captured in Egypt during that time.....the Ayyubid and after them the mamluks repelled the crusades and stopped the mongols in their tracks....actually the Ayyubid and mamluks were more superior and had more wealth during that time.

Great video Apollo, as always. As for the voting, I do believe the First Crusade is the one to learn about of all the crusades. In fact, check out a video series called Extra History and their episodes on the First Crusade, which is full of colorful characters and crazy twists.

"Ghazi" is derived from the tri-root word Ghazu (Gha-z-u) which originally means sought or requested, but when contextualized into terms that suit war it'd mean plunderer/pillager. Also, best channel

The rule about having to put 50% of the defending infantry outside the walls was a little ridiculous-like yeah no shit they lost, a quarter of their army got slaughtered in the first 5 minutes.

Ghazi actually means conqueror but when you say gazi about someone it means that he participated in battles before so word itself contain both meanings which could say that this person is a veteran who took part in battles and conquests before

if you cant say their names : Tadzreuli is translating as templar but it was georgian order not crusader templars, aznauri is knight, monaspa is kings guard, khevsurs are highlanders, svanians are highlanders too,metsikhovne is castle guard.

on the subject of the destroyed arrow towers, yeah i can agree that in a game that you cant use them to get down from the walls but in reality its actually almost always correct, i mean think about it all that wood and mortor and stone practically implodes in on it self from a force impacting it from the outside, its all going to fall into it self and completely sealing off the very narrow stair case thats inside....making it impossable to use, i mean its the basic laws of physics and gravity

Georgian unit names are pronounces the same way they are written, you have to pronounce them letter by letter.

Taking it piece by piece: is "Tadzreuli" Tad or Tahd (rhyming with "bad" or "sod") dz, ds, or ts re-u, reh-u, ru, or roy (rhyming with "bake" then "true," "pet" then "true," "true," or "boy") lee, lih, or ligh (rhyming with "tree," "pit," or "bite") My intuition would be to pronounce it as the first of each choice, but in English these are just some of the possibilities :P I too wish PixelatedApollo would try harder to pronounce words, but it's hard.

+Mark Salamone It's tad, it doesn't really rhyme with bad or sod, bad is pronounced as b e d, it's just t a d. it's dz, but it's not really z, you don't have that letter in english, so I can't really explain, z sounds close enough. it's re-u, I don't think it rhymes with any of that, first part re is like in pe in pet, but then it's just u. it's probably more like lee, lih sounds alright too, it doesn't have to be 100% accurate, I can't even notice much difference between lee and lih tbh. it's hard to explain by writing only. I don't mind if he doesn't try. i don't think most are hard, Metsikhovne seems like the only hard one to me.

Ghazi in Arabic can be invader, warrior or raider but in the game I think it refers to popular family name in turkey
