@@VicBarry getting extra zoom, renaming the files, the FN menu hack. I haven't been able to get my ZV-E10 to give me the 120p shooting option yet since I am in the US and we use NTSC, PAL isn't a good option. Trying to figure getting that shooting setting still. I've seen you can do it in the 4k slo-mo, but I was hoping it would be in the normal shooting settings so I don't always have to do as slo-mo and control that in post. Not sure what I have missed in getting that working on mine. This is also my first Sony, so getting through the menus for set up has been a big learning curve.***** update... the option finally appeared under my settings today. Not sure what changed but now have the 120 option for shooting video.***

I absolutely use every custom function menu, custom menu, function button, both dials, everything. I had a6600 with 4 function buttons, this one has only 1, but every other customizable buttons I put to use.

@@falkimusicon I guess it depends on the sort of music video but it does tick some boxes that I think might be relevant. It’s light, easy to carry and unobtrusive which would be helpful in a live music venue. It’s good in low light although other, more expensive cameras are better. But ultimately, for me is the price. It can produce “professional” quality results at an affordable price.

I wandered a little while today and took a few shots as well as made the changes you and others have suggested around file structure and other defaults. Looking forward to learning more about the settings to hopefully eliminate too much lifting in post in still and video.

Lovely video! (A bit different, eh!) I bought a ZV-E10 (body only) to go as a partner to my Sony A7iii…. I don’t shoot many (or even any!) videos…. just stills photography. I thought the ZV-E10 might enable me to avoid buying a very long-reach telephoto for the occasional wildlife photography I do (by using a Canon 70-200mm plus the Sigma MC-11 adapter). But the result was a kind of Frankenstein piece of kit…. difficult to hold and use. So I’m sending the ZV-E10 back today. It’s a sweet little camera… but, given the state of my finances and the nation’s finances, I can’t really justify keeping it. (I wish I could!). However, I loved your video! Very direct, very efficient, very mindful of the viewer who is time-poor. And what an interesting accent you have! Irish + ? + ? H’mmmm!! 😊😊😊

Hi Vic , I just got a ZV-E10 and I use it for live streaming and use a Sony dummy battery and do not use any SD card as I record on OBS. The problem is that I put all my settings in video mode under manual and then I turn of the camera and start again and all my settings are lost and the camera start in intelligent mode and even when I change to manual mode I have to put in all settings again. Am I doing something wrong? Please help

I'm surprised that since it has smartphone connectivity, you can't do more settings fiddling on a smartphone via an app, like setting up custom setting pages, customizing button functions, it'd be easier than doing it from the menus. Hi Vic. Thank you for creating and sharing this video. Although I don't have this camera, I am in the process of trying to find out if it is the one for me. I am looking to get a camera so I can start recording better quality music videos. I will be using it for shooting various scenes of interesting stuff I find outside (mostly nature based) as well as aimed at me whilst playing guitar in a room under different kinds of lighting. As I am on a pretty tight budget, would you consider this camera suitable for my needs? I will be using a different audio source rather than the sony's. Thank you :)

Hey Scott, absolutely. It’s a great camera but check out my other vids on the stabilization issue. It’s not a huge deal breaker depending on what you’re doing but it’s definitely something to consider. Otherwise this is a superb camera with incredible auto focus and the video quality is insane

@@VicBarry I have just watched your gopro v gimbal video. I loved it and was exactly what I wanted/needed to see! Due to budget, I'd like to have a camera that does everything I need/want. I want to get those cinematic shots, the angles, movements etc, but also use on a tripod to record me playing. Current thoughts are, get the sony zve10, a gimbal eventually (maybe the one in your video), and also a lense, which brings me to the next question. What type of lense would you recommend for me plonked on a stool playing a guitar? Eventually. An additional lense may be bought but for the 1st one, that's the main use. Thanks again. Lol I wish I knew about this video sooner. That Saramonic SR-XM1 mic sounded amazing. I had already purchased a rode mic though. I'm not sure what's better or not but I was impressed by the sound quality on it from this video. That probably would've been my go to choice, but it's okay.

Hey David. Thank you. Just go for it and see how the kit lens works out. The more you use the camera you’ll figure out what kind of lens you might need

Hey Vic. Love your informative videos. I’m using this camera for some live stream cooking classes I’m teaching. Classes are 2+ hours long. Last time I got away with powering it through usb and sending hdmi out to an atem mini. Do you think I’d be safer with a dummy battery or is the usb power supply enough?

Hey Adam, it’s a tough one to call to be honest no haven’t had any issues with a. Dummy battery but I’d always go with usb power if I don’t need to use the dummy battery. Just for safety sake

Hi Vic, The autofocus on my sony zv e10 keeps running here and there. I always set it up on Auto Intelligence cuz I’m just a beginner and don’t learn into it about camera. It’s hard to keep everything on focus on everything on the screen. The camera seems confused because so many movements on the video. Can you tell me how to set up the autofocus correctly?

Sadly, Clear Image zoom is only good to my eyes until 1.2x. Do i have to always adjust the audio levels? There is no AUTO level mode just like with my cute little A5100? thanks a lot

Hi, I have problem with that when I am streaming through ZOOM - lips and sound is not synced. I enabled Lipsync but it is still unsynced.

hi again, on my new ZV-E10 when I zoom in/out by bluetooth grip (GP-VPT2BT), unfortunately the noise of zooming is recording too and this is running the footage! please advise. thank you

Nothing you can do about it in afraid. It’s one of those things that happen with lens like that 😞
