They should’ve just made the tier pieces war bound so that you could transfer them over to the respective alt that can collect it. Edit: Looks like they listened!!

Not being able to collect other tier sets really defeats the purpose of this for me since I'll have to run the same raid multiple times again anyway. Then it goes back to same old system of getting the shaman tier on my paladin and getting the paladin tier on my shaman and not being able to use any of it.

the only thing thats missing from transmog is blizzard removing rings trinkets and necklaces from the loot pool of old raids also the restriction on class restricted items seems stupid and arbitrary, why draw the line THERE when in a couple of years they are gonna go "oh yeah that wasnt a good choice, now all armor collected even tier sets will be account wide"

The main transmog objective are tier sets, and they are the only thing that will not work LOL

Wait what, tier pieces will be restricted to their specific class for collection? It's literally like 90% of the reason people do transmog runs - for the set pieces. How does Blizzard drop the ball here? It could've been awesome new change for transmog collectors and now it isn't.

I hope they change their minds about class and tier sets. Most of the gear that drops in raids is in that bracket 😢

Typical blizzard. Add something nice but caviat. Want class set entirely? Run it unknown amount of times with said class. Instead running it less times with many classes.

You can't grab the tiers from other classes? that broke the full change for me, we usually only run for those nice class sets

They really should add the warbound system and use it on all class specific legacy itens. That would be the perfect solution to avoid still needing to farm with many alts for specific tier sets

Class restricton makes entire change almost void.. What's the point ?.. the class sets are the thing we farm old raids for, and we still will have to do it multiple, multiple times. It makes all this almost more frustrating than it was...

How is not getting tier sets from other classes a fundamental cornerstone of this "feature". That IS the feature for me. What do I care about non-class items?! This is a MAJOR disappointment for me. I am honestly a bit shocked. What rationale is behind that? Tokens? OK, but no set items?!?!! I can only see Blizzard wanting you to farm all that shit with different toons to waste time. "Respect your time" my ass. I am very disappointed.

Honestly, the ONE thing I want is just a "Hide Item Slot" in the appearance collection. Would make trying to come up with and edit mogs SO much easier!

Still class restricted, mog still armor and weapon type restricted... 2024. In game like GW2 you coud change armour color :D Released in 2012. And me, as a druid, I still can't mog cloth, even I can wear it. It's totally crazy. These changes would be useful like 10 years ago. They literally should give everyone everything. Even a fckin mage with plate, if somenone would like that. 2024 Blizz ehm... Microsoft :)

To your question if transmog counts retroactive from quests: This already is the case for nearly all quests. Once you logged into a character which completely a quest which gave multiple quest rewards you got all quest rewards as transmog. Valve has a database for each character where it says which characters has finished which quests (you can even use a ingame script to find out if you finished a specific quest). So what you talk about around the 6:30 mark is just an addition for newer quests which probably gave armor type specific rewards like the newer starting isle.

they should really look into getting rid of the class restriction for transmog unlocks. it's literally the same issue they're resolving with the "any armor type unlock" they're implementing. there is no logical reason to keep it restricted

Alright guys so, if you want Garrosh's shoulders? do the mythic/heroic fights on all your toons 60 plus, and if any non plate loots em, just bank, and when prepatch hits, you'll have em. Same with the Xavius shoulders, same with the Eternal Palace shoulders, tht 1h mace from tomb of sarg, make some gold, hoard some mog, and enjoy. On live you can vendor grey items of a higher level than you can wear and get the appearance so nice to see it being added to greens+

So next step will be abillity to use all armor types in your tmogs, and another to change colors by chosen pice of tmog For example someone use plate shoulders from mythic nathria, mail necrolord chest and lather helmet from aberus with shoulder colours on all those items in tmog. That would be GOAT. And if not then remember kids "hope is a first step on a road to disappointment"

Bro the class restrictions is so dumb I have save bags of items because they were class items thinking they will also unlocked they need to get feedback and ch mange this the main reason we want this is for those items

Quests completion status is known in the backend so it should be easy to unlock q rewards retroactively. You can even check completion status with a command and the q id. This even works for classic quests. Was able to retroactively receive the q rewards from the old old (pre carrot on a stick) ghaz'rilla q this way.

Does this apply to gear you already have in your bags? Or only newly collected gear after the prepatch

so if i got for the legendary bow from kil'jaeden on my druid then will i be able to have the tmog on my hunter when tww drops?

Then those class restricted gear should only drop for the player of this class

Thing is, they CAN make the quest collection retroactive. They did it Day 1 when Transmog was released.

7:50 Is this confirmed? Last news was that it does not count for items you have in your bag. So BoE items you can't equip don't count - as least that was my last info from like 2 weeks ago.

In the exact same boat with not wanting to run dungeons and raids... SO I am grinding reps and more lore master stuff and hopefully Blizz comes through with giving alternate appearances from completed quests!!

I imagine the quest thing is retroactive - a while back they did something similar where it would unlock all items that you could choose *on that class* and that was retroactive, so this is probably just widening the scope.

6:07 - Did I see "Expeditionary Boots"? They aren't even obtainable at all now are they? The reward for that quest used to be gloves that were NOT part of the expeditionary sets. I'm really happy they made this change.

I figured as much with the class restricted sets. This is still a positive change. I collected a lot before things became restricted just leveling alts: warriors, dks etc to get transmog. But this is good for both new and veteran players to get mog appearances faster. When they started adding armor type restrictions that was a negative, likely to increase time spent in game collecting but this is a return to the opposite, which is still amazing to get.

When will we be able to tmog armor types into other armor types? It's not like you can tell a plate wearer at a glance anymore, why does it even matter?

Honestly, this is insane. But I can't help to feel cheated to have purged so much old xpac dungeons with so much different toons to get transmogs accross the board, while now we can just play whoever we want and get them. The more they add quality of life things, the more I feel like I've waisted my time being a player for so long while I could just get to the same point in a few month now. (looking at how to unlock allied race for example. It was a fun ride at the time, but seriously I've worked my a** to get them while now they are almost free for everybody) At this point they should also give us a full set of heilroom stuff for roleplayer to be able to fully dress however they want at any time because that's the last thi8ng that bother me about tmog

They should rethink the class tier restriction. Also, I'm wondering if BoP recipes will be tradable between alts in TWW?

I'm so glad people in the future won't have to do Spires of Ascension four times for all the mogs. And that I never have to min-max proficiencies anymore.

I genuinely believe that there should be some sort of internal check system thing that sees if there’s a max level toon of a certain class under your account and if so you should be allowed to collect their tier set appearances regardless if you’re on that toon. Cuz you’re gonna presumably be collecting that tier set for that toon anyway, so why not allow your alts collect the appearances for them? It’s all going towards the same exact appearance collection pool, so who fucking cares what toon you actually get the drop on

I was super excited for this QOL change, but all the armour I would farm for alts is class specific (night hold sets) for example. Why blizzard... they'll only revert it in a few years like they did with legendary tmogs so whyyyyyy restirct it

Not a bug. You can already save higher level gear to your mog collection on Live as long as you have a way to bind it. Not something you'd see a lot of unless you have a second account to carry alts through old content, but since DF launch you can order BoP gear from the crafting system in Valdrakken and receive the appearance regardless of character level.

This is something that should have been in the game like 5 years ago. But better late than never, I guess.

This just created about 100 hours of content for me to do. I might as well run every raid and dungeon 10 time each! Also a gold making opportunity with selling anything while I do that.

My question is that if I got all the old-school GrandeMarshall gear on my paladin when I got to 1800 will I be able to wear on my warrior even though I didn’t get the achievement on my warrior

The class restrictions point is stupid because you’re collecting the appearance, not the tier bonus. Also, if you can conceivably wear a piece of armor in game, you ought to be able to mog into it. It’s stupid that you can’t under an armor type tab.

i am more excited about this than all of the other features combined

regarding class restrictions on items, what about look-alike items? like, if i run a legacy raid on my mage and a boss drops a tier piece for, idk, priests, will i unlock the look-alike appearance? (thinking of specifically nighthold and emerald nightmare sets here)

To the question of whether we'll get transmog from already completed quests - they have the technology. They did this back when they introduced collections (end of WoD?). You got the transmogs your character was eligible for from all previously completed quests. It also still happens with quests that make you choose between multiple pieces. The only difference here would be changing the character's eligibility and doing another pass through their quest history. Side note. My packrat nature has been vindicated once again and I will finally obtain the appearance for the Gates of AQ questline sword that I looted on my shaman back in Vanilla!

Great change for the game, I love that Blizzard finally moves towards not wasting extra player's time. BUT WHO THE F**K decided to include those idiotic restrictions???? They ruin the whole point of this change! All they had to do is just to NOT include it and this would be a massive W🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

New feature is absolutely awesome and a great change, I just hope they remove that class restriction. It kinda defeats the purpose for this feature because those are generally the main target items and it was implied at Blizzcon that we'd be able to get them.

Anything new with the war glaives of Azzinoth be transmogable by anyone that can equip instead of just demon hunters?

That seems like a really strange place to draw a line in the sand, especially considering that the only real restriction is pretty much applying exclusively to Pre-Ulduar gear. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain that from Ulduar and onwards there are lookalike items for every raid for the whole set

I've heard that the MoP CM portals will be account-wide in TWW, but what about the armor sets? Both the sets and portals are tied to the same achievement, so does that mean if we unlocked one class set ALL will be available?

Wait why are people questioning whether the quest reward transmogs will be retroactively added? Of course they are, they already have the tech. Did you guys forget that they already did this when transmog changed in Legion and you got given all quest rewards you could use?

The class restriction pretty much takes the wind out of my excitement for this feature; I feel like legacy loot shouldn't be affected by it.

A lot of tier sets also have copycat pieces so you can still farm most of a set if not all from certain raid tiers. I.e. i got the throne of thunder achievement for a full set on a demon hunter.

considering I have done over 18,000 unique quests, they better unlock all the appearances. It would be a nightmare to have to do them all over again.

I'm wondering how the new mog system with work with things like Taeshalach. It only drops for the characters that could wield 2 hand swords during Legion; Hunters, and the 3 strength classes. Evokers can also wield 2 hand swords but, according to wowhead, it wont drop for them even though the other legendary weapons got updated to drop for Evokers.

I hope they allow collection of other class tier sets, its awesome they are doing what they are doing tho, great change!

This is big for me. I love doing tmog runs on my alt army.

The class specific restriction is a big bummer, feels like to collect 100% of any given legacy raid, you'll have to run about just as many times as you do now. At least it'll speed up dungeon collecting I guess, tho there's less interesting stuff from there usually.

I wish they would let us just transmog other armor types, like why can't my warrior transmog warlock armor that would allow players to really express the fantasy of their characters. It's makes no sense why we can't have that. Anduin is basically a priest in plate armor so there isn't even any lore reason for it or anything.

You said there is collecting bug if you sell a higher level gear (lvl 80 gear as lvl 70)? Did you already have a lvl 80 in your warband or not? Maybe you can collect if that is the case. I dunno. Just thinking out loud.

With shadowlands dungeons and raids becoming legacy, is it safe to say the mythic versions will be soloable? Some transmogs I really want from those.

With so many sets that goes across classes now, they should let up on having basic armour types be tied to a class. So if I want my warrior to transmorg into mail, I could do so (except specific class tier sets).

learning all Xmog appearances when choosing a quest reward has been in game for a while now. Nothing new. Can't remember if it was Shadowlands, or Dragonflight that started it.

Dude it's a real shame that blizzard has been doing so well on war within but classic random restriction to really set back the player base by removing the main reason why people want this feature in the first place and that is too collect other classes class sets on their main that way if they ever play those classes you already have them.
