Ironic thing is, If Koba was alive to see his loyalists siding with the humans, even out of spite for Caesar, he would have killed them.

@officialcurtis That's the thing. Caesar didn't believe in apes killing apes. And he lived by his word UNTIL you brought violence to his doorstep. So, honestly, they were safer w. @@joseluis5055 This is an interesting thread. Caesar starts the previous "Dawn" film thinking the humans have offed themselves because they have not seen any in two years if memory serves. It isn't until the scouting crew looking for the hydro dam comes along that this assumption by him is proven wrong. He figures out something is contagious that is affecting the humans by this film, but it is pretty clear that the apes are not what is causing it because they are around them all the time as prisoners and nothing happens. It is transferred from one human to the next, though. That much is clear. It is implied that the Simian flu is the cause due to mutation, but that is an assumption by the colonel, a man who has little trust of science to begin with. Maybe it is a different affliction. Maybe it is a mutated strand of the original pandemic. I think the colonel is projecting this survival of the fittest narrative mostly to justify him killing his own son. His sacrifice has to mean something, right? By killing the apes off, he can postpone what he likely knows is the end game. He calls it perfectly when he predicts exactly the world order that comes in Kingdom when he tells Caesar the the apes will rule over humans.

Your missing the point. The human military didnt give 2 craps about the apes. It was the virus that was going to kill them all that was the problem. The colonel, out of fear of the large population at the main base, defected and went rogue to avoid such a mass infection scenario. Unfortunately he lost his mind after his daughter died and laid blame on the apes. The military realized after the virus was evolving that they had to find a cure or some way to prevent it. The last thing on their mind was war with the apes. Yes its true the entire military would have destroyed the apes with ease. But then what? Thats not going to stop the virus. They all will still die.

i always say that the events of these movies are not inevitable or even likely by any means; the rise of caesar was a black swan event and everything that follows is a series of collapsing dominoes of probability creating the perfect storm for this timeline to exist humans in most timelines are very very hard to kill and are quite indomitable most empires would sooner descend into bunkers and render the planet an irradiated ashen rock than give it up to another empire of humans, let alone nonhumans

@@user-cf4bg7he7y nah I wouldn’t say they were necessarily losing, they suffered heavy casulties and loss but so did the soldiers. Just this scene shows how the whole patrol sent by the colonel got destroyed in seconds once the calvary came. The thing was that the soldier’s goal was to exterminate the apes completely while the apes was being passive and only defending themsleves, not actually wanting to fight. The whole war seemed like it was 50/50, no one was actually winning, it was just a pointless bloodbath for both sides. Things started going downhill after Winter betrayed Ceaser though

@@ZeroUs30 The movie itself mentions how badly the apes are losing, said by the apes themselves. The enemy is using spears and arrows that are only accurate up to about 50 feet away. Wouldn't it be better to take up position on another hill and fire across the valley - well outside the range of enemy spears. Human General: Right, but the effective range of that guy's crossbow is only like 50 feet. The arrows were probably hitting with a force similar to that of a rifle round. Even if it did hit armour, it'd still hurt. @XDapologist

I wouldn't say hes "with the humans". He was alive because it was a "donkey" not because the humans were compassionate. Just see how he ended the moment he showed sympathy for Caesar.
@XDapologist
@XDapologist День назад
Also Koba had resentment towards humans for how he was treated his entire life and when the apes gained conscience he saw Caesar as weak for trying to avoid conflict. Red was one of his followers but after his death they were captured or surrendered to humans.
@XDapologist
@XDapologist День назад
Now under human capture, Red sees Caesar as the one responsable for his demise, he believes his sympathy towards humans is what put him in that situation and not Kobas irresponsible war with the humans

Idc if the colonel is supposed to be evil, I say he was in the right. Apes are stronger then humans, only thing against apes humans had was swimming and smartness, but with the apes becoming smart the humans only had swimming. And the “kill as many of them as you can” is smart, in war if your almost certainty going to die then just kill as many as you possibly can. For every soldier you kill that is possibly one fellow solider you save.
@XDapologist
@XDapologist День назад
Caesar didn't wanted the war. Koba started it. The colonel continued the war. The two sides that couldn't see anything but war as the rigth choice ultimately caused our extinction. I dont think the message is you should advocate for war no matter what.
