the 2 scariest things in a souls game, 1- An old man (hes strong enough to somehow survive this world that long, hes gonna fuck your shit up). 2- A naked invader.
One instance of a naked invader that I respect for the meme was a guy who had a double explosion physick flask and low enough health to be killed by the self-damage. His entire strategy was to sneak close enough to the host, chug the flask, then sprint the remaining distance and kill both parties. His name? Terrorist.
@@AJEditZ24 No one cares you narcissistic bragger bastard. Go to your mom who probably spoils you can calls you “little angel” when you’re probably a devil child, or is she already dead in the alley of a strip club. Get outta here.
Yeah nah after you killed a literal demigod and slaughtered thousands of demons and you see some guy get a boss healthbar you’re either gonna one shot him or get annihilated
Isshin might be like, 90 years old or something? And is still stronger than a god damn divine dragon that has a big ass sword who with a normal swing makes air blades like it's nothing, yet we get our ass beat by a old man 😭
We got: You, in a very bad ending. Also you, with a peg leg and a dream. A cucked old man with a therapy animal. I don't even know... Typical asian dad. Old man born from his grandson, ready to show you how they do it in Detroit... WHILE BEING IN JAPAN.
While other bosses are coping and calling you trash, Godfrey sees you're worthy of becoming Elden Lord when you literally murdered him. Now that is a true man of respect.
@@TheBRYANAWSOME he didn't really wanna fight sekiro i think, but was forced to because it was the will of his grandson and he, the one who was resurrected by him from the BMB ritual, was bound to follow his will
@@GozieaaaIsshin is a legendary warrior who got resurrected into his prime with an immortal shinobi waiting right in front of him, I think he definitely wanted to fight.
Godfrey is the only boss in Elden Ring that refers to you as "Tarnished" in a non-offensive way, he knows better than any what a normal human can become
I mean...Godfrey is a Tarnished himself, the first actually. He respects himself and what he accomplished standing shoulder to shoulder with god, and thus also respects you not just because you beat him, but because he's like you. Which is also...in terms of layers so...beautiful about Godfrey. He's the father to Morgott who you killed, he's out of place here more Warrior than a King, he's the (let's be honest, does Radagon really count considering he's...y'know?) husband to who you want to kill/usurp/fix/save, and he's like you...a Tarnished who in his own way wants to fix things and you're in his way. He more than perhaps anyone has right to detest you. And yet he just gives you his seal of approval. You die to him yet each time you come back he knows the Grace has not abandoned you. It has him. Everyone else is in denial, but he's not. Shame we didn't meet him for chats before we fought him (like Tengu in Sekiro and of course the real deal).
Considering like you, he was tarnished, it makes it even better. First we face him as the Elden lord, then we face HOARAH LOUX(!) A fellow Tarnished ready to show us what it takes to become Elden Lord.
Straight up says “yeah, you’re worthy enough to fight me as my true self.” I love soulsborne games man, some of the best bosses respect you as much as you respect them.
"Know my name as Godfrey, the first Elden Lord". First time hearing that line, I knew i was facing someone absolutely legendary. By far my favorite fight in all of Elden Ring
Gael has a machine gun crossbow. Gerhman has a blunderbuss and he figured out slug rounds Isshin has the nickname 'glock saint isshin' in the community for a reason. Plus he pulls out a friggin spear in phase 2. Godfrey's the only one really fighting with just a blade, until phase 2. Then he just rips the lion on his back apart to coat himself in blood like some twisted version of a turkish oil wrestler, and goes grapple mode on your ass.
Not so much in DS1 when you could just parry Gwyn into utter oblivion, i genuinely feel bad for the old man while doing this and how easy he is even though he is the final boss in the series infamous for hard bosses
@@user-kt3jk1vq9o you know, he was the lord of sunlight, and considered a god....why did he go hollow himself? Is it a case he was human too, and hid it?

Gael isnt just a human boss, he has the entire dark soul in his blood. His power is that of humanity. He is the most human person in history. He is that guy.
Godfrey was probably one of my favorite bosses in elden ring. Not because he has cool mechanics or that his attacks are interesting. But just because he looks cool.
I haven't fought the actual Godfrey yet, It's going to take all my strength not to giggle like a school girl when he pile drives me for the first time.
In worlds with eldritch Horrors roaming the lands, Gods literally destroying parts of the lands and massive beasts killing everything in sight seeing an old dude stand in your way is the most terrifying thing you can see especially in a souls game
I love bosses in souls games. You can go and face the largest most grotesque monstrosity that a human could ever imagine fighting and walk away being like “meh, not too bad”. Then the very next fight is literally just some guy with an axe and he will treat you like a human football

These "just humans" are some of the strongest dudes in their verses. >Godfrey is the first and mightiest tarnished and the first elden lord. He defeated the Dragonlord, and he brought the giants to near extinction. >Gerhman is the first and most powerful hunter. He has killed thousands of hunters, with the hunters he's killed being capable of killing Gods. >Slave Knight Gael is the last living being in the dark souls universe. He has outlived or killed everything. He has almost fully collected the Dark Soul, making him the strongest being in the dark souls series. >Genichiro was completely immortal to everything except for the mortal blade. He is able to control lightning. >Owl is just built different. >Isshin was a simple old man who is the greatest sword fighter to ever live. after getting reserected, he is pretty much a demigod.
@yasquishyboi902 Hunters aren't really humans, but they used to he humans. Godfrey was a god at one point but became tarnished, so he's just an immortal human. Still, these characters are some of the most OP beings in the series.
@xxennon0244 Genichiro has a very good reason to be powerful, with him drinking from the rejuvenating waters, which made him immortal. Owl is just straight up built different.

Tbh they weren’t anything special at least in the base game, most overrated game I’ve ever played but I haven’t got to dlc so maybe all the good stuff is there.
Gael killed literally every other living thing and went mad just so a little kid could finish her painting cause she left her crayons at home, that's the true gigachad behavior
That's why it's important to let the painters do their work and leave them alone . Because there was a famous Australian painter that like Gael almost killed every other living thing ☠️

Artorias and the abyss watchers are definitely my favorite "just human" characters. The fact that they were so dedicated to holding the abyss back that they become locked in a never-ending duel to keep it contained as much as possible
artorias is not human tho, he is of the same race as gwyn, he couldn't traverse the abyss specifically because he had no "humanity", not a spec of darkness within him
@zennim125 i only lump artorias in with the abyss watchers specifically because they were his followers. Also, being of gwyn's race didn't stop him from becoming consumed by the abyss. Slowed it, maybe. When we encounter him, however, he's fully corrupted. Otherwise, our battle may have opened MUCH differently. This is just based on the fact he had some cut voice lines, so i think they planned for him to become fully corrupt during the fight, or at the start cutscene. I believe you may have typoed a bit when saying he can't traverse the abyss as he is literally the first mortal to do so, lol. He is the Abysswalker.
@@wrathfulmartyr he isn't the abysswalker, we are read elizabeth lines again, artorias couldn't do it, "he didn't have a spec of dark in him" he is far better than us, far more powerful, and he couldn't do it the corruption he was showing was different from the ones in the town, they had humanity bursting out of them, with giant heads multiple eyes and longer limbs. Artorias was getting eaten, corroding and turning into a husk but because of time travel shenanigans, elizabeth doesn't tell our version of events, only that artorias went into oolacile, and that soon after the abyss was beaten back We traversed the abyss, we assumed the role of artorias, and he is the one credited
Artorias very blatantly and plainly lost against the abyss, the abyss watchers somewhat successfully fought it. Most of the story of Artorias is actually about the player, and all the darkness hunting he does is contained to random corrupted oolacile denizens
Isshin Ashina singlehandedly deterred an entire invasion. The ministry was too afraid to invade because of one old man. Only when they heard that he was dying, did they even consider an invasion. If an old man can make an entire entire army think twice, imagine him in his prime.
Genichiro with rejuvenating sadament and wolf with divime blood barely could use mortal blade effectively due its burden. Isshin weild it like it was just an ordinary sword the moment he touch it
Lets not forget Gerhman only wanted to kill you so you dont have to endure the nightmare like hes doing. Hes trying to save you from the horrible dream so you dont be trapped like he is. Truly a great boss fight along with geal who knew he wasnt fit to return safely with the blood of the dark soul. Only to be lost to madness.

Isshin Sword Saint is scary. He literally has no powers, and all the skills he uses were invented by him. He’s just such a monster of a human that he exceeds human limits.
The best part of Isshin is that he's not above using everything to win, honestly if you give him a bow he'd be essentially armed with the entire Samurai arsenal
Humans in the FromSoftware games have always been incredibly strong for being humans. But jeez, gotta appreciate FromSoftware for that beautifully done Damascus blade for Ishin
Because unlike us they are more used to surviving in a much harsher environment. Godfrey basically goes to every war until no wars were fought, Gehrman was the first hunter meaning he fought for a long time. And Gael could not die for a long time and fought countless warriors. Humans in fromsoft games are rather resilient. (Lmao just noticed all of my examples started with the letter G)
My headcanon is that the beings in Dark Souls games (including the humans) are as powerful as they are because the First Flame is a bonfire, which burns bright but burns out fast. Following that same metaphor, a hearth around the First Flame would make it dimmer and easier to maintain. But powerful beings like to hold on to their power, so they would never have considered a course of action that would weaken them, even if it were more sustainable in the long run
If a Human survived the world that is doomed with creatures that could rip stone apart they are gonna be quite the Hardened Veterans. Gotta love that Fromsoft uses this at any chance they have.
@@demonlord1million680in order are Slave Knight Gael, Godfrey the first Elden Lord, Genichiro Ashina, Great Shinobi Owl, and Isshin the Sword Saint(the one shown is his old self, still badass though)

Owl is incredible. Fromsoft literally designed him to be a trickster. He can use Mikiri counter, shadowrush, and later into his phases he literally starts changing the speed of his attacks to trip you up. I see why he was Miyazaki’s favorite boss of all time.

Artorias likely isn't human. What ever the race of "Lords" was, they weren't descendants of the furtive pygmy, as they existed and fought alongside Gywn before it took the dark soul and gave birth to humanity.
In Baki there was a nice quote, something like “even humans are the weakest animals on Earth, they still are the most dangerous because of intelligence”
