I got an 06 with 410,000km. I was parked on Wellington st in Ottawa Canada, living out of it for 22 days protesting freedom in the dead cold. She ran for 16 hours a day idling too keep me and my water from freezing. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Don’t let anyone tell you not too buy this rig. It’s a dream ride 100%. Awesome rig man, can’t wait to engine swap mine when the original engine craps out.
I got an 06 too 6 years ago and it is an excellent truck. Never big issues, just strict maintenance. Thinking on swapping the engine too and I have 140k km. Apparently I have a lot to go LOL. Would be great if you show us the process. Any idea of which engine are you gonna drop there? I love trophy trucks and prerunners, so my final goal on my truck is a prerunner Hummer or close to that :)
@@fabianblast the 5.3 is very versatile, cheap to buy used, easy to find, easy to work on. The 06 h3 needs a firewall cut because it didn’t come with a 5.3 option that year which is the alpha model set up. It’s still from what I heard not too bad to accomplish. Also keeps the truck gm and alpha inspired which is a smart move for resale. I removed all my videos on my h3 build so far but if I do a swap I will show it off. I’m just waiting for it to go. So far still going strong.
Forgot to mention the h3x ram bar. I snagged one off of an h3x in chrome and painted it grey to match plastics. That specific ram bar moulds the front end perfectly and you might find one if you look for it in your area. You can google h3x and see what I mean. ✌️
Does the H3 Alpha Adventure come with the 5 speed manual option ? I bought my 2006 H3 mainly because it had the 5 Speed Manual transmission... makes it much more fun to drive. Mine is a pleasure to drive... a little underpowered and crappy MPG... but that part of the price I have to pay !
First and foremost your Hummer H3 IS absolutely sick. I also have a 2006 Hummer H3 Adventure that I'm doing a very similar solid axle built with C.J Wilson from Thorparts. I think the only difference is I'm going with the Yukon 5.13 gears for the fact it's power with the I5. So I have a couple questions if you don't mind answering. 1) what is your ground clearance with your 37-inch tires 2) do you have any issues with your built ? 3) do you have any recommendations or things that you would have liked to done differently ?
Hey. Sorry I didn't response sooner. 1) ground clearance at the belly/frame is 22.5 inches 2.) No issues at all, besides things caused by my incessant meddling haha 3.) Only recommendation if have is, if you're thinking of upgrade a part, like axle shafts, might as well do it the first time, vs down the road. And a higher quality shock that you can adjust for on road and offroad. If you're going to get into super hard trails and stuff, maybe go full one ton (dana 60 etc) from the get go
Do you know of any aftermarket sway bar options that can help with body roll. Have a LS3 swapped H3 CE with a GOBI stealth rack. The weight on top is giving me extra body lean.
Hey, I do not know of any direct bolt in replacements. I am sure you could adapt a helwig or currie anti rock sway bar into it, or even a beefier gm full size might work.
@@gearyheads2739 Thanks for the reply. I will look into it. I just swapped out my bilstein shocks for Fox and for whatever reason the Fox shocks seem to handle the lean better with the extended bump stops. Bilstein's did not have the extended bump stops so its difficult to say it was the shocks. Extended bumps stops seem to be the key to helping with the body roll. Looking at redoing the sway bar bushings with polyurethane.
