Keep practicing the rev matching. You'll get better. The RE Interceptor has, I believe, a slipper clutch which helps smooth out the downshifting. The brakes might get better as they get bedded in with more usage. If not EBC probably makes a set of pads for this bike. When buying a motorcycle (I've owned forty since 1971) always remember one thing; If, when you get off of it to walk into the coffee shop, you don't turn around to give it another look, it's probably NOT the bike for you.

Yeah rev matching feels a bit like patting your head and rubbing your belly. Both the Interceptor and T100 are bikes that I took some long looks at after riding. :)

Bloody Hump's everywhere hey,, Bit of a shame 😔 I'm a Rider with 50 years experience, I own a Royal Enfield Interceptor and Hunter, Owned my Interceptor since 2021 absolutely brilliant 👍 I've had alsorts of bikes in my time, The Royal Enfields are the best ones, Especially if you want to service them yourself like myself,👍 Best value on the market by a long sea mile 👍 Cheers Paul

I tried an Interceptor then a GoldStar, i loved them both but the character of the big thumper and its style won it for me and after a years ownership I've never regretted it

Great summary of the feel. This is my perspective after about twenty year of motorcycle daily commuting mostly on a Yamaha FZ6 and getting a Interceptor 650 3 months ago. A few complaints I had with the FZ6 was how top heavy it was particularly in an emergency stop if you were off center, and it wasn't as fun riding at commuting speed. The Interceptor 650 is heavy to lift off the center stand, which concerned me at first, but is very balanced at low speeds and is probably the best bike I've had the pleasure to do footless stops on. I was originally looking to get the Classic 350 for a more relaxed ride and wasn't going to get the 650 feeling it would want to be ridden fast like the FZ6. How wrong I was since it is fun to ride at legal speed through town and in traffic. Brakes don't have great initial bite, but once you get use to them they are good with extra pressure. The suspension is pretty good for country and suburban rough roads. All this is just my opinion. And that sound is awesome! Going through the neighborhood at 25mph at around 2800rpm is my favorite. In my late forties I still get a kick out of blipping the throttle at a stop occasionally 😂.

Yeah, if you watch at the beginning of my video, I definitely was surprised how heavy it was to get off the side stand, after riding the MT-07 which I felt was a very easy bike. Thanks for your opinions, they are useful. I definitely agree about the sound.

I got an interceptor as my first bike. 8000 miles now and touch wood... no problems. The brakes take a while to bed in... do not compare them to your mates sports bikes however. This is a bike for someone who ideally wants a classic bike, but doesn't want to pay the crazy prices and do the constant maintenance. There are some absolute bargain low mileage interceptors on the used market. The power is ideal for uk roads. Especially if you live in a built up area. Our uk roads are sadly too busy and pot holed to get the best out of a sports bike.

I also had the same though about the brakes when I tried it. I think the problem is the weight... they aren't enough to stop such a heavy bike in a way that make you feel secure. At least that was my only "con" to this bike, looks superb and the sound is amazing. It's not fast but you don't get a bike like this to go super fast, is about feelings :)
@get_to_the_lunchbox
@get_to_the_lunchbox 6 месяцев назад
Yeah, exactly. Although it depends on what your perception of fast is. If you never been on a superbike or only ridden smaller capacity bikes it still feels fast.

I’ve test ridden one and really liked it. So do many because they sell so well. As a new rider you won’t have much experience on other bikes. They all have strengths and (relative) weaknesses. As a balanced package ‘out of the box’ it’s pretty damn good. If you chose one you could upgrade it to your liking for very little cost.

@@get_to_the_lunchbox Yea of course, you will. Ive had many bikes over the last +30 years. Dont go too mad picking the fastest or most powerful thing you can get your hands on either, honestly, it’s a mugs game. When you have to ride within 20, 30, 40, 50 & 60 mph camera controlled zones more & more nowadays there’s little to no point having a missile under you. Waste of time. That’s one reason why the Enfields, BSA and smaller bikes sell well and the bigger stuff gathers dust on showroom floors.

Nice little engine, lot of low down tourqe, makes a good midrange bike, little asmatic on the motorway, Brakes and suspension a bit wooden, relays and reg recks ! Led lighting would be nice as its the 21st century. A slightly used one with upgrades would be a great first big bike. 👍

Congratulations on passing your test, I'm envious 😂 Bet you'll be pleased to upgrade from the Bluroc😅 Sounded great, never heard it like that on other videos before. I like the GT Continental over the Interceptor but like you say, you choose what your heart tells you and everyone likes something else for that reason 😎
@get_to_the_lunchbox

Thanks. I've always been interested in sound. A lot of vloggers (even the very popular ones) are using microphones designed for speech, so they don't pickup the frequencies of an engine very well. So I have a seperate mic to do that. I can't understand why more vloggers don't put the effort of picking that sound up as that's one of main sensorial experiences of riding a motorbike. Yeah I was like you at first, I preferred the Continental GT, but then you go and see them in the flesh and sit on them and you can experience totally different feelings.
@leegreveson
@leegreveson 5 месяцев назад
@@get_to_the_lunchbox Yes I originally didn't like the look of the Continental, only having seen it on videos, but in the flesh I was drawn to it and I sat on it and preferred the slightly forward leaning position opposed to the more upright Interceptor. Mind you I'd have to have the front cafe racer style cowl and blacked out engine version, makes a huge difference to the aesthetics for my taste

Could the brake issues be related to them being new and not bedded in yet?
@get_to_the_lunchbox
@get_to_the_lunchbox 5 месяцев назад
Not sure, actually not sure how many miles are on the clock. Someone did comment that it's a older model, so if that's the case you would expect that they had bedded in, but it's a fair point. But in comparison the T100 had 1 mile on and the brakes were fine.

@@get_to_the_lunchbox yes. I dropped cash on it, thinking I'd stick with it for a year, maybe a year and a half. It's been three already.
