I just shopped for my first bike. I went through a similar process. I didn't have any real doubt. The T100 does it for me.

I've been going through a similar process and comparison, although I'm a bit more biased towards the adventure bikes and prefer the modern look more than the classic. Just wanted to point out that as far as the ratings, the NX500 was your worst bike - but in overall consideration it seems pretty high in your esteem. Curious if you looked at or tried the Triumph Tiger since it would seem to sit in the middle between that premium polish and adventure practicality? I think my personal journey may end with the NX500 as a first bike, with plans to get something bigger and more street later on since I havent ridden for many years now.

You like what You like, go your own route and "ride your own ride". I look at some makes and models and wonder what all the fuss is about, but that's because I have my own taste. It's neither right or wrong. At the end of the day you'll be riding it for "x" number of years so you need to be sure it's what you really want. I sure regret my Bluroc Legend I'll be honest, but I was limited to price and I just didn't want what I considered to be a bland CBF or YBR 125. My heart wanted an FB Mondial and I should have got one of those and just stretched the budget. Of course at the time I thought I'd have done my DAS by now but nevermind. I'm forever changing my mind over my first big bike, and visiting bike shops is a great way to see what's on offer because sometimes just via a screen doesn't do some bikes justice. But definitely agree, own at least two bikes 😂

Sorry to hear you regret the Bluroc. If you think you're going to be riding a 125cc for a while you could of coure trade it in for that Mondial. Have you passed your theory test yet?

@@get_to_the_lunchbox Theory test booked end of February and I've been revising lol I'm hoping to get my licence before end of the riding season (I'd better do!) and then get a bigger bike. It's just the Bluroc is sooooo underpowered that it's not really enjoyable riding out very far as I live on the edge of the Peak District. Having said that, I could just put myself in among city traffic and get used to that. What are you going to do with your 125?

YOU TEASE!! 😂 … I’m going to guess you went for either the NX500 or the T100, more than likely the later as the NX500 is more practical but the T100 just pulls at your heart strings! I was one of those asking if you were going to test out the W800. That is the bike I just purchased here in Canada, again not as practical as the Transalp or the NX500 but it’s what I yearned for. Enjoy your ride and thanks for the videos!

Hopefully you have chosen the nx500 and do a longer review for me before the snow melts in northern sweden, proberly in May :) I'm looking at that one as my first bike since it looks good for both gravel and highway driving at a very decent price and doing some camping with.

Yeah, I think the Kawasaki W800 has been discontinued in the UK. If you Google “Kawasaki W800”, you get the page on Kawasaki UK’s website, but it’s Model Year 2020 and it’s not accessible through the home page. There seems to be a few pre-reg/demonstrators still available, but nothing “new” new. The two Kawasaki dealers within half an hour of me and both have a minuscule-mileage W800 Street available. I get the impression they’re a raw/old fashioned/characterful bike, like the Enfield/Guzzi, rather than the more modern-feeling Triumph. I’ve not ridden any of the above, so may be wrong.

Yeah, I noticed that too about googling it, I guess it's an old page. I have a feeling they discontinued it for a couple of years and then brought it back, but just not in the UK.
