Replacing worn out crank bearings on a 272xp. This bottom end was a bit stubborn but it turn out nice.
Thanks for watching.

I love the 200 series. Just scored an all original 1994 272 in good running condition for cheap with clean cylinder and it’ll hang all day by the pull cord. LOVE 272’s.

Yes, I've noticed that the 'Crank' is a bit stiff in the morning when she wakes up, and fortunately my crank knocker still works

Do you ever run into situations where you'd use bearing retaining compound? Or would you consider the case halves scrap in that scenario? The wealth of knowledge here in all these videos is great man! 👍
@tinmanssaws

If there's any movement in the bearing pocket I consider the cases scrap.

Learned something new regarding adjusting the endplay. I like your idea of using the heat gun to warm the case halves for assembly. Do you ever find it worthwhile to heat the case when splitting the bottom end?.
@tinmanssaws
@tinmanssaws 2 года назад
Sometimes if the cases don't want to come apart I'll apply some heat. More often then not they come apart easy.

Is there any way you could pictures if what you're portwork looks like in one of these, i can never really find any clear pictures, i don't have a wheel but i do have a digital angle and i feel like i could use that.

I've done many of these on video, check out my 200 series playlist which shows portwork in many videos.

Very informative. Thanks. Do you use a long tube socket to install the crank seals or the husky tool... I’m new to rebuilding saws
@tinmanssaws
@tinmanssaws 4 года назад
I use a socket usually. I plan on building seal drivers but haven't gotten around to it.. The key is to make sure the seal is straight and that you dont role it over when you install it.
@Tj-zz6gh

Also curious if you use oem husky bearings and seals or which?
@tinmanssaws
@tinmanssaws 3 года назад
I rarely use oem bearings unless they are proprietary like 5 series huskys and stihl pto side beafings
