oh my goodness, i'm so happy to find this, i'v been looking for a CV compatible video synth that does composite out and it seems i've found it. as soon as we got to the feedback section I was like - SOLD! haha. thank you!
the features seem awesome but it seems a little more space efficient than I would prefer. with 4 or 8 more hp you could add a few more knobs and sliders to reduce the page diving and to put a breakout for that hdmi on the front. and I know its a stylistic choice but labeling the knobs and inputs/outputs on the device would make it much less intimidating for someone trying to learn it.
Thanks for the video! I have a bunch of modules preordered with LZX to jump into video synthesis. Would love to see a video about integrating Hypno with other video synthesis modules.
This is awesome! Really great contribution to the live performance space :) After watchinf a lot of videos i think a seperate unit to 'master' the generated output with things like contrast and colour pallette settings, VHS style degredation effects, maybe chromatic abberation and blur effects, 'vignette' overlays etc. Basically a little mini simplified version of thr kinds of fx units used in tv production in the 90s. Would help provide glue for power users. Also of interest might be an expander that scans values along the image abd converta the output to eurorack levels, to feed back into the modular. Will keep my eye on what you come up with!
Our friends at Erogenous Tones make just the thing for you! It's called the "Structure"! It's got all of those effects and so much more, but lacks an HDMI out, so it's a lil more difficult to use in contempory settings without some additional scaling.
Hello Sleepy ! So all caution to the wind i an only 1.5 years into Eurorack and of course i dove into stand alone vid-synth modules i have 5.5 (.5 a Lemon paperweight) and recieved my Hypno 2+ months ago. I am absolutely blown away by the depth and control and just plain and simple this is the end all be all unit for me! It makes my favorites that i own look like stick figures being compared to the 4th Dimension as the 3rd eye see's it!!!😱👏👏👏🏆Kudo's 💚💛❤ (i am having power issues tho, i feel i must need an update) is there a preferred channel i could message you for some quick guidance? Truly the greatest , and my favorite piece of gear. Thank you THANK YOU !!!
Hi there, thanks for your kind words! Sorry you're having some power issues? Please email us at support@sleepycircuits.com and we will get that straightened out asap (also check out forum.sleepycircuits.com as there may be a solution there already).
I love love love my hypno!!!! Tom you are the MAN!!! What an amazing first module dude you killed it!! I;ve had mine for a couple months now and everything after the mirroring section was all new to me. All I can say is What the Fuidk this thing is powerful, fun, and creates stunning visuals. Hire me for sales I'm unemployed ...kidding....not kidding. regardless I love it thanks and keep up the vids and instructionals ..!~!!!!!
What a great product, interface and design. You killed it!! question, I may have missed it in the video... is this also controllable via midi cc's? I'm very interested in feeding the Hypno midi values from my mixer to control the visual parameters while I'm mixing techno. Thanks in advance!
i would be interested to see some video processors next. this could blossom into a fantastic hardware environment. out of interest is there a reason why the knobs and jacks arent labelled?
The knobs and jacks are not labeled because they have multiple functions. The interface was designed around the principle of muscle memory, which we think works rather well once you have it in your hands for a couple of days. As far as video processing goes, we may have a few things up our proverbial sleeve =)
@@SleepyCircuits that makes sense. I may have personally preferred a larger interface with knob-per-function, but as we are sort of in the halcyon days of accessible video synthesis I will take what I can get.
Great suggestion! This is something we will definitely think about, but we kind of ran out of button combinations with all the features we have added. We will revisit this idea after the holidays, but in the meantime, feel free to post your feedback on our forum - forum.sleepycircuits.com/t/hypno-ideas-feedback - so it is easy to keep track of.
looks great. can you use the video clips available on your website as an input to the Hypno? That would be absolutely gorgeous and allow so much more diversity. Truly looking forward to your reply on that.
Yes, I often feed the video packs on our website from my laptop's HDMI port and into the Hypno's video synthesis engine (which was recently updated to allow for video input and processing).
Thanks for subscribing! There are ways of making Hypno work with almost any other piece of gear. If you are looking for more specific advice, feel free to post over on our forum - forum.sleepycircuits.com
Very impressive. I've been to your site and checked out FAQs, but still not totally clear: Which Pi model do I need for installing in Eurorack? What is approx depth of the euro module with power adapter, cables or any other necessary cables. To put another way, I'd like to buy assembled, ready to go, with HDMI out to the front panel - and mount in an Intellijel Palette case. Can I do that, and how do I do that?
As of the recent 2.2.3 patch, YES! the square shape has turned into a poly shape, the advanced shape page's (2 button combo) "num sides" control (furthest opposite knob) controls the number of sides so all sorts of polygons are now possible!
Hello there, Im about to buy this freaky machine:-) But there one question for me.....I need a monitor to connect with. I thought of an 32 Zoll (80 cm diagonale) with Full HD (1920x1080) with a reactive time of 5 ms. Connection via HDMI. Will this work and are the pictures visible about the whole screen? Or you have an other recommendation for the optimal output? Thanks and all the best.
No reason that shouldn't work. Hypno will automatically recognize the resolution of the TV and adjust its output accordingly, so it should fill the whole screen.
I am not sure I understand the question. Hypno has been updated since this video came out and can now load custom designed videos or images placed on a connected USB stick. These videos/images can then be processed further thru the Hypno engine. I hope that helps.
Hey William, This is the 5th "noise" shape with the feedback frame offset down and slightly zoomed. I don't recall which feedback mode this is but this should get you most of the way there :)
Holy wow... just got mine after a long wait, but totally worth it! First (serious) patch try after playing with it by itself for a bit: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eUkcbDNXAOM.html
