Thanx Dr.. For your valuable suggestion and information.. My Father is also suffering from low K. He is now stable. And i will definitely give him these foods for maintain his K level.
Excellent Video! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Melubras Physique Patenier (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a smashing exclusive product for getting a flatter belly fast minus the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my buddy got excellent success with it.
The issue with the American diet is that too many Americans eat insane amounts of salt while having a potassium deficient diet. Most Americans therefore suffer from hypertension, which leads to heart disease. What a shame!
My BP had slowly creeped up to 140/90. For 5 months I saw to it that I had 5000 mg Potassium per day with diet and supplements. In addition I cut salt intake. Sure enough BP returned to 119/81.
Good Brands of Soups,Like Progresso are Very High in Potassium,Like Progresso Chicken Noodle & Vegetable are Little High in Sodium,But I Add Water,Even though Directions say Not to,to Dilute Down some of Sodium. Both these Have Lots of Carrots & Other Vegetables & Chicken
Thank you, I really appreciate you reiterating the importance of ingesting potassium and through our food and natural means versus supplements or pharmaceuticals.
My son has low in K but the only effective among all is the juice of coconut its a matter of minutes, you can be relieve right away. Now, his maintenance is to buy coconut juice not medicine...
My mother is on a doctor’s orders low potassium diet. She also suffers from leg cramps. I bought her a magnesium supplement and it has cured her cramps. I am just asking if the magnesium supplement will have any negative effect on her potassium levels. Many thanks
Magnesium helps muscles relax, so maybe that's why the cramps are getting better. I find epsom salt baths are a good way to relax, and absorb Mg through the skin. Just anecdotal, 😳

Dr, what if my potassium level is 4.9 and I am having tingling in hands, toes, weakness in muscles in legs and pain in my back and sides What could be the problem
Checked b12 status? Also potassium levels are not reliable as potassium is more important inside our cells which they don't test, they only test potassium in the blood. Eat plenty 🙏🏾💚
Yes, you can also have Nabees (soaking raisens or dry fig) over night and eating/drink it the first thing in the morning. the prophetic drink.. it really helped my mum who had the same condition.

Wow! That's completely different to Dr Eric Berg and some other doctors on here, They talk about the keto diet or carnivore diet. About insulin Resistance -Low Carbs foods.
Yeah even hyper-consuming meat for extra protein seems dumb to me, but it's all the rave now. I just eat around 2 cups of peanuts with my training and the usual amounts of meat with my meals, and it seems like enough for me.
How do I know if I'm consuming too much potassium daily, while I don't even know what is my recent potassium level in my body? Can I take 4700mg anyway, I'm just wondering...?
Doctor plz help my youngest sisters is sugar patient we are check up every where and any doctor but they are getting lots of medicines ....she is not recover plz doctor where we are going to check up ...plz doctor answer
Minerals arent produced by plants they are something that has to be up taken by the soil.. so tell me how a Dry fruit can have more Potassium than a fresh fruit ? Removing water would seem to partially remove some nutrients.. and would just concentrate sugars and minerals.
Dear Dr. Andras I have hypokalemia and live in Bangladesh. What are some other foods i can eat? I have become much despondent over Current state and cant seem to live a better life
Animals that have been eating a grass-fed natural diet. That is bioavailable nutrition for humans. All sugars are not good. No plants. No vegetable oils. Humans don't have the enzyme to digest fiber.
Nephilim Research i see where you’re coming from but a lot of doctor don’t recommend red meat cause research shows its effect isn’t desirable. And what oil should we use? Is drinking milk good also?
It must have been only when I had that stomachs virus my potassium levels were to low because I enjoy so many foods with potassium accept avocado in fact when you can't purchase it in the stores I like spinach in my sandwhiches.
There is a huge misconception that fruits are bad for diabetic patiens. Ice cream, Sodas, alcohol, etc are bad for diabetic patients since they contain high amount of carbohydrates without starch and essential nutrients which you have in dates and bananas. A female diabetic woman normally needs around 50g of carbohydrates a meal with 3 meals a day and 2 smaller ones with around 15g. In total about 180g carbohydrate a day. 1 piece of date weighs 7g and contains about 5g of carbohydrates and 50mg of potassium. 1 banana weighs 100g and contains about 20g of carbohydrates and 361mg of potassium. So 15 pieces of dates have the same weight as 1 banana. 15 pieces of dates contains 750mg potassium and 1 banana contains 361mg of potassium. This means that when we talk about weight / potassium ratio, then dates have 2 times more potassium. BUT 7 pieces of dates contain about the same amount of potassium as 1 banana. 7 pieces of dates contain 7 * 5g = 35g carbohydrates. As we said a diabetic woman needs around 50g carbohydrates a meal. So theoretically 7 pieces of dates would not be a problem. Actually 3 carbohydrate portions (1 portion = 15g carbohydrate) can be eaten at each meal. Vegetables contain almost no carbohydrates, so plenty of vegetables are really good. So a typical meal plan for a diabetic patient can be: Alot of vegetables with almost every meal!!! Breakfast - 3 Carbohydrate portions (1 carbohydrate portion = 15g) + 1 portion protein + 1 portion fat Lunch - 4 carbs + 3 proteins + 1 fat Snack - 1 carbs Dinner - 4 carbs + 6 proteins + 1 fat Snack - 1 carbs + 1 protein
Everything contains sugar. But the ultra-proccesed and added sugars and lack of nutrients in foods like cupcakes does nor compare to the natural sugars in fruits.
@@sophiebuzora9616 based on my experience, I do not know exactly why but I think it is related to my colon, I used to get low blood pressure when eating as well, lately it's going great for me, seems like a chronic think I'm not sure. let me know if you figure why it happens!
What about tons of sugar in those dried sweet fruit and bananas? You gotta eat ton of them with ton of sugar in them to get any reasonable quantity of potassium or actually any other important minerals.
Hi TGE. I have the same problem. I found grass-fed animal meat to be the only thing that I can eat. After I cut out all other things and only meat, fat liver from cow, and some gree range eggs and fish, my health become strong and no medical conditions. It is all the sugars, in fruits and vegetables, anti-nutritions in nuts, seeds (coffee) and vegetable oils that is carbohydrates that block the nutrition and messes the body up. Stay to only grass-fed animal meat or fish from a clean source if you can to get the omega fatty acids you need for the brain. And you will be good. Study how the Eskimos ate and the Massai warriors in Africa. Only meat&fat and they were never sick. Sugars make u sick.
Red meat is high in saturated fat, iodine and sodium. While it does have a high proportion of protein/amino acids to net calories used to repair your heart, eating too much red meat greatly increases risk of various cancers, especially kidney cancer. Red meat often increases blood pressure as well.
meat mostly meat is potassium those fruits are mostly better carbs but sugar ,those vegetables men made are somewhat good but ain't gona give you much potassium
Hey my name is Denzel Drayton , I’m 22 , male and I need professional help from a doctor that specializes in hypokalemia periodic paralysis. I’ve been taking potassium medicine for some time now but I’ve been having more episodes then usual and need help. Please help or if you can refer me to someone in the United States, Maryland side that knows about it that would be a big help!!
Only stop eating fruits, vegetables, and carbohydrates. You can eat as much grass-fed meat, fat and organs you want, and become healthy as a bull. No dental problems either.
@ Hey Blondi, there is no mediterranean diet. It's made up. One of the biggest frauds in science. Shut up will you if you don't know anything about it. Same to this wanker of a fake doctor.
I m get hipokalemia for 3 months and still goes on. Can u tell me what the main cause of hipokalemia with happend again n agai? What s that i need check to know the cause?
What is Hypokalemia? Causes Symptoms Diagnosis Treatment If you have hypokalemia, that means you have low levels of potassium in your blood. Potassium is a mineral your body needs to work normally. It helps muscles to move, cells to get the nutrients they need, and nerves to send their signals. It’s especially important for cells in your heart. It also helps keep your blood pressure from getting too high. Causes There are many different reasons you could have low potassium levels. It may be because too much potassium is leaving through your digestive tract. It’s usually a symptom of another problem. Most commonly, you get hypokalemia when: You vomit a lot You have diarrhea Your kidneys or adrenal glands don’t work well You take medication that makes you pee (water pills or diuretics) It’s possible, but rare, to get hypokalemia from having too little potassium in your diet. Other things sometimes cause it, too, like: Drinking too much alcohol Sweating a lot Folic acid deficiency Certain antibiotics Diabetic ketoacidosis (high levels of acids called ketones in your blood) Laxatives are taken over a long period of time Certain types of tobacco Some asthma medications Low magnesium Several syndromes can be associated with low potassium, such as: CONTINUE READING BELOW Cushing's syndrome Gitelman syndrome Liddle syndrome Bartter syndrome Fanconi syndrome Women tend to get hypokalemia more often than men. Symptoms If your problem is temporary, or you’re only slightly hypokalemic, you might not feel any symptoms. Once your potassium levels fall below a certain level, you might experience: Weakness Fatigue Muscle cramps or twitching Constipation Arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythms) Hypokalemia can affect your kidneys. You may have to go to the bathroom more often. You may also feel thirsty. You may notice muscle problems during exercise. In severe cases, muscle weakness can lead to paralysis and possibly respiratory failure.
Thanx a lot Dr....now I know what to buy when I'll go grocery shopping bcoz I always have cramps in my legs after exercise and at night when I go to sleep...GOD BLESS YOU
Wahia Wabiba you probably need a good dose of magnesium along with potassium. I had terrible cramps at 3am , thank God for dr. On u-tube , l learned about magnesium. I dont have them anymore.
Bananas are very healthy. Fruits should be eaten. If you have severe diabetes mellitus, then a reduction can be done, but otherwise is sugar from fruits not a problem since it's absorbed slower due to composition of fruits compared to simple table sugar.
@@drandrasfazakas No they are not. Sugar blocks the uptake. And we have the Glukoneogenesis mechanism in the cells that make the sugar the body needs from fat. This is why sugar and fiber are not needed in the human diet to be healthy. Dr. Berg is right on bananas but he is also known to promote a ketogenic diet and his supplements that are sugars. If you have Insulin Resistance you must learn the body to be Insulin Sensitive again if you don't already have gotten damage to insulin production and are Diabetic type 2. The kay is to quit the sugar, all carbohydrates if you can get off the addiction.
@@DrAskildsen To argue that we don't need sugar from fruits because there exists a pathway turning fat into glucose, is like saying that we don't need fat because glucose can turn into fat. There exists pathway both ways. Fruits are very healthy. Water is very health. Fat is very healthy. It all depends on how much we eat. Water can be toxic in high amount, as well as sugar can be toxic, as well as fat can be toxic. There is no need to complicate life too much. Eat fruits, vegetables, drink water, do some fasting, exercise regularly, meditate, sleep well, skip all drugs, alcohol, smoking, and surround yourself with loving friends and family, and one more thing, find your passion in your life and you will be very healthy, live long and happy life.
@@drandrasfazakas that is the real thing Doc...one thing we all forget was .....wash all fruits vegetables before use ...thats the biggest mistake with all that junk the spray them with...we eat all that and there's where it starts..thx keep us informed Doc...blessings fr Bonaire CN
I think I did not make my point clear enough. You eat these fruits when you have a diagnosis of hypokalemia. You don't need to eat alot of dried fruits when you are healthy or when you have diabetes. Otherwise nothing will happen by eating some dried figs, since you need a balanced diet besides these fruits.
Product reviewer uk not everything that spikes insulin should be avoided. Just eat in moderation. Avoid refined carbs (breads, pastas, and cereals). You should be fine eating a single portion of fruit a day.
@@harpreetsingh1431 Dudh. YES it does. Refined Sugar is 50% fructose and 50% glucose. All fruits and vegetables are sugar. It spikes your blood sugar and Insulin. It makes you high risk of Insulin Resistance and Alzheimer's disease risk. And you don't burn fat when you have high Insulin and Cortisol (stress hormone) because your body is in fight and flight mode. You need to fast to not eat anything either OMAD or for many days. So you force the body to learn it to be insulin sensitive again.
