Hypotonic solutions have a lower osmolarity than the blood (lower solute concentration in fluid).
Osmosis causes water to move from extracellular space to the intracellular space, causing the cell to swell.
Hypotonic solutions dilute extracellular space and replenish inside of cell.

I just started nursing school today. Any tips for dosage calculations more specifically IV dosage calculations I’m 29 haven’t been to school in years also general study tips would be great these books are 1000 pages each it’s overwhelming 😅

Read titles of chapters, then all headings within the chapter and turn those headings into questions which you find the answer to by skimming for most important info under each heading. This will serve as your basic study guide for the chapter. Leave space on the side of your notes for all the bolder or key terms and use those as your vocabulary to memorize.
