Well...that was a whole something! 🤣 I can laugh about it now but I was really scared when I saw blood. So unexpected! Did you know any of this was a possibility?
@venusm61
@venusm61 Год назад
Yes. With an abdominal hysterectomy some light bleeding and discharge is common for up to six weeks. It was light enough, a panty liner was enough. It lasted approximately that amount of time. No bleeding since. If I had any than it would be unusual and a medical issue that would need to be addressed. I did not know that would happen with your surgery and take that long to see bleeding. That would have scared me too.

Hi, I had a subtotal laparoscopic hysterectomy a few years ago (still have ovaries and cervix as I was too young to remove it all apparently). My surgeon told me they had found endometriosis on my cervix. Although he had lasers it, there was a chance I could still bleed monthly until menopause. I do, although not monthly. I think I have endo in other places in my abdomen too, if I have ‘a period’ I get a lot of discomfort, but less than before. So yes, it’s possible to still bleed if you have a hysterectomy, not just from wounds. Should stop when I finally go through menopause.

@@WelcomeToMyCurls Also... Can I say you are so courageous! I would have had a panic attack... As for hormone replacement,well,you are in menopause and your symptoms were quite severe. Yes, it would have been ideal not to need hormones, but nobody should go through severe menopause if they can help it and if their doctor gives them the all clear for hormone replacement.

@anglophils645
@anglophils645 5 месяцев назад
Make sure that you do your chemo. Clear cell a is very aggressive form of endometrial cancer. You may need radiation as well. Make sure that you do all treatments recommended by your doctors. "Got it all" is good, but your cancer has a tendency to recur. You can beat it, but only if you do your follow-up treatments.

I had seros epithelial ovarian adenocarcinoma stage 3. Didn’t do chemo. Still cancer free 14 months after surgery. Had other treatments instead. I’m young (40) so maybe that helped. Had been begging for a hysterectomy for years due to endometriosis. It took cancer for me to be allowed to have one.

I am keeping my ovaries for several reasons even though they were already peetering out on their own. Your advice to educate yourself and make the right decisions for yourself is wise! In case anyone is watching this and wanting more input. So , just got back from my 3 week check-up post surgery. All went well during surgery (had everything removed) and I am healing on-time. One note, in my case they decided to do a pelvic exam this time (I thought they'd wait until week 6-8 for a pelvic) and they ended up using a bit of silver nitrate to seal one small area near the cuff. I am sharing so you can be prepared! It was painful. So, if. you THINK you will need an internal exam and any amt of silver nitrate I highly suggest taking tylenol/advil or even like 1/2 a pain med to get you through it. It wasn't horrible but it also wasnt' FUN. If you have a lower pain tolerance I suggest this even more...JUST one experience...that I haven't seen discussed too much on YT..

I was supposed to went home the same day but I had complications after. I got up out of the hospital bed I was gushing blood not stopping. It finally stoped or so. But I had to wear a Catheter because where he cut my bladder while he was in there after I went home for 7 days. Anyway after got home I started bleeding not stopping at all keep dripping out had to go to ER one of my stitches came out he had to fix it. Then I had to go again the next day cause I was bleeding again. He fixed me again. It was crazy and hard to go through. But now I'm finally better but it was so hard to go through. That was a scary experience; so, wonderful that your doctor and his/her staff are so responsive, kind and considerate. You are blessed to have such a doctor. Healthcare has gone done hill in the past several years. Doctors and patients are unhappy with our healthcare system; in fact, many doctors are quitting. It makes it even more difficult to find compassionate and caring doctors. You found a good one. I have been on an Estradiol patch for 20+ years. I tried to drop down to the 0.0375 mg patch; but, I experienced severe hot flashes; I went back to the 0.05 mg patch. There are doctors that specialize in women's HRT treatments; and, two that I follow say that the optimum dose is 0.05 mg. It keeps us overall healthier and keeps our bones stronger. A side effect of menopause, either natural or forced (hysterectomy) can weaken our bones. You should ask your doctor when should you get bone density done (DEXA scan). Women who go into menopause are at a higher risk for bone density issues; even some women on HRT. I had my first DEXA scan at 65; and, it showed I had the bones of an 80 year old. With my doctors help; I went on a natural regime to treat bone density issues. I have improved my bone density with this treatment for the past two scans. I have another coming up and I hope it improved again. You are helping so many women with your videos, Renee.

Hi Renee, Thank you so so much for your videos!!! I just met with an oncologist and am in the process of making decisions. I really do not want a hysterectomy, but my gynecologist and oncologist both are recommending one. I have tried to ask friends & family if they have had one....but I’m amazed how women are either not comfortable sharing the information or they had the older abdominal surgery. My oncologist does the updated robotic/ laparoscopic procedure. I was concerned about bathroom constipation/incontinance issues going forward, not just after surgery but for the rest of my life. My concern about bone loss, urgent need to pee etc...My oncologist has recommended the total hysterectomy. I’m just scared of the unknown! You are a God send! I’m so grateful you decided to share your experience! Once again I am so grateful to you!! I’ve subscribed and responded! I look forward to what information you can share and help those of us make informed decisions. I’m age 66, so I’m 16 years your senior. I know that my experience will be different from yours just because of the age difference. I don’t expect I will take hormones, because I’m post -menapausel. I just want to know I will be okay after the surgery and hopefully no chance of getting cancer in the endometrium or uterus since my situation is hyperplasia in a mass in the endometrium that is benign but the hyperplasia is his concern as well as the thickness of my uterus. Before my surgery, I used E patches due to being in perimenopause and experiencing lots of symptoms. When changing your patch, you first add the new patch and then immediately remove the old one. I learned from the menopause doctor and it's better to use baby oil to clean the old patch spot. Just a taught. Love your videos! Take care!

First of all, you are such a pretty lady. 😊 I’ve been binging some of your videos on this certain topic. I’m preparing for a visit with my doctor soon and I wanted to talk with her about possibly having a total hysterectomy. I’ll be 43 soon and I’ve been having issues with female health for years. Now, I feel as tho I’ve slipped into perimenopause hell and I’m not here for it. Your videos have been so helpful! ❤

Thank you so much Renee! I am having a laparoscopic hysterectomy on April 5th and your videos have been so helpful for my preparation. I am 57 years old and post menopausal. There is a strong possibility that I will not be able to keep my ovaries, and I have been researching hormone replacement options. I love your "realness" and I look forward to future videos. God bless. ❤

Oh Felecia! I'm so glad I could help you be prepared. If they take your ovaries, you may not have the severe symptoms that I had because I was not in menopause before the surgery. Perhaps your body has adjusted and you simply need hormones for all the other benefits. Sending good thoughts and well wishes your way! ❤️

Thank you for sharing your hysterectomy story. I just had mine on 08/16/2023 and you are helping me through things. On this video it is funny you said before we go to sleep we watch an episode of Frasier ... my husband and I do the very same thing. I feel I can't sleep without watching Frasier. I wish you well with your continued healing.

I had a vaginal hematoma, it was visible and the pressure was painful. It finally had to be drained in the Dr. office and the relief was instant! Did not expect that!! The estrogen patch was a life saver for me but was not available until twenty years after my hysterectomy! I no longer take hormone replacement since I have entered my "senior" years and still occasionally have flashes/night sweats but they are easier to deal with. Medical advancements are wonderful since my surgery 33 years ago.

Thank you so much for this video I watched your previous video as well and it was very informative, I'm having my surgery on the 27th and even though I'm a little scared and nervous, I'm excited, I've been wanting to have a hysterectomy since I was in my 30's because I knew I wasn't having any more children and I had such bad cycles back then I was afraid for the future, fast forward 16 years later and I'm finally getting one, I mean it only took three fibroids later, 10 day cycles and becoming anemic for someone to actually listen, but I'm here now and I'm feeling more prepared and I hope I don't have any bleeding after but if I do, I know not to panic, because I'd probably panic. Thank you again for sharing your story

When I had gall bladder surgery I had the same small incision and had the same issues with the sutures and ended up using tweezers to remove stitches that stuck out. It was like pulling super thick coarse hair but afterwards the getting randomly poked stopped. Thanks for all the great information you put out.

Thank you so much for the information. I just had a hysterectomy two weeks ago. Asked my Doctor about HRT replacement and she said I was too old for it. I am 74 and they did a total hysterectomy taking the ovaries but I disagree and thank you for your video because I’m going to press on about getting hormone replacement.

Greetings Renee! Whew! That was definitely a scare! I'm so glad you're okay. I had a vaginal hysterectomy and one of my stitches pulled loose when I dropped my pillow and picked it up. That was painful, but nothing as dramatic as what you went through. Bless your heart ( and I mean that sincerely) ! Love and blessings ♥️🙏

You are healing very well, Renee. I am glad that the patches have helped you as there is nothing worse than hot flashes. I used supplements to get through them. You must do what works for you. Keep monitoring your condition. The estradiol may work now but you may feel differently in say a year. Your hysterectomy is very new. You are making great progress!

Sweet Renee, Be sure to buy silicone healing patches to put on your little incision scars. They will just about completely disappear. You'll be amazed. I can only see one of mine now and I think it's cute, it looks like a little fingernail moon. 🌙 Man, considering you had such a traumatic situation going into this, Like 2.4 POUNDs of fibroid removed...you have done amazingly well. I am unreasonably happy for you.

Hi Renee, so glad to hear you are ok. I am sure you were scared, I would be too ... bleeding is always cause for concern; I thought however it might have been related to the HRT. Glad things are ok now. As to the one stitch poking its way out, it also happened to me ... I could feel it & eventually I gently pulled it with tweezers. Your scars are & your stomach are looking so much better. Great informational video Renee, very proud of you and the content you are putting out👏👏👏

Oh wow!! I've never had surgery or even stitches for that matter...and was shocked to learn that a stitch can poke out from the inside!!! Really??!! 😳 Thankfully, mine seems to have dissolved without coming through my skin. Every day I can feel it less (thank goodness because that sucker hurt!)

Thank you for sharing! I had a similar situation happen with the bleeding at around the same time. It scared the kaka out of me. I’m almost 7 weeks post op now and have been scared to go no 2 since then because I’m so scared I may make it start again. I’m sure it’s probably in my head and hopefully soon that will go away. Mu appt is Thursday to be checked so I hope everything looks good. I’m on the patch too since I have no ovaries and I am getting a slight rash from it after a few weeks. I’m going to talk to the PA and hopefully we can get that figured out.

Your talk about bleeding or a pain issue weeks later has been very helpful! Getting surgery in a month (cancer cells found) and will be far away from home without an escort and will fly home on day 3 after the surgery. I live alone and am in my 70s, so need to be as prepared as I can be for all possibilities. Doctor and hospital are a long distance away when at home and my Doctor's office takes forever to get back to me too. Not prone to panic, but still would be very concerned about bleeding/pain that long after surgery.
