I’m totally agree with you! But if you compare the quality video from Protake to filmic pro it’s impressive! Also with Protake I can rec PRORES 4444 Dolby vision… more details, less noise! For this reason I’m staying with Protake.

I have used Procam 8, Moment app, Filmic Pro and finally Protake. I doubt very much that for the reason that you are giving, I am going to resign. Without a doubt it has been the best app, I prefer Protake.

Where can I find such a think like prores 4444 dolby vision? There is nothing like this, even if I turn off the color profile. In the data menu there is just H.264 and H.265 . Trying new sony Xperia 1 IV

I always thought this was weird about Protake as well because I too searched for any info about the company. But I'm not ready to give up on the app just yet since its so useful to me

Yes, it's a good app, especially if it is the only one on your phone. I may subscribe again if the company becomes more customer oriented.

OK, I see that this post is already a year old, so maybe someone has written a solution in the meantime and solved the puzzle of connecting multiple devices via the Protake app. It's true that Protake doesn't have the kind of support that most applications have today and the kind we're used to, but if we're being honest, I had the same question about how to do it, I sent an email and I got the answer maybe the fastest ever in my life. The solution is short and actually simple. So, apart from the fact that both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network (this means that the application is intended and limited to the same internal space, unless you connect to an external free wifi), you must log in with the same phone number on both devices. If you have the paid version, then both devices can "act" either as a monitor or one of the offered cameras. When you log into the application on a device that doesn't have the SIM card with which you bought the application, an SMS will be sent to the device that has that card and number, so you must always have that phone with you. This works flawlessly for me, I don't know how it is for others. I hope it helped at least a little. And yes, I use Samsung S23 Ultra and Poco F3, as well as Redmi note 8 Pro... I have not tried networking with iOs.

Thank you for this! 😃👍 Been searching for this info everywhere for ages. I use a Redmi phone as main camera and Honor 9 as 2nd was trying to use a Huawei and kindle fire Tablet for monitoring - buth came up as not supported - must be due to the lack of sim. Thanks again! 😃👍

I found your video while trying to find out why my Protake+ won’t show higher than 60fps. I have sent a message through the App Store, but I am skeptical I will hear back. It’s a shame. Thanks for the info.

I agree with you about the whole support thing and being present for your customers BUT protake app is awesome it just simple works you get full manual control with real camera settings like shutter angle not speed true fps and everything is in view no clumsy dials that keep moving on you messing up settings, files look great, so yeah it’s odd how they seem non available but idk thier product works and at the end of the Day if the apps working why do you need help in the first place

A Really Great Review, thank you, I really appreciated it! I had bought that app for a wedding as a backup-app, in case my Filmic Pro would either 'freeze out' or had caused me any other problems (which again that was the case with FP, where I couldn't even use their 2 higher-end codecs and I had to stick with their "normal" one (it would just DROP frames in the middle of the wedding, which again, I could not clearly see in that [android phone Motorola Moto G9 Plus] screen in direct sunlight, but I could suspect it was dropping frames, and I clearly did confirm it in my Post software). Protake has the advantage of showing a red indication for dropped frames BUT, it has the same freaking problem that another viewer of your's had: it showed the "unexpected error" and "we will reset camera". From the little that I've messed around with (after the wedding), this was the only thing I discovered (OHH...and that other issue another viewer of yours commented....The 4K 60fps part was non-existent!! But probably that would be a limitation of my smartphone? What do you think? By the way, my smarphone already supports 4K video, but up to 30fps per the manufacturer, so do any of these "magic apps" even "OFFER" the "GIFT-option" of shooting in 4K 60 fps AT ALL???) But regardless of that, when I tried to change settings on Protake and kept on showing me that "WARNING RESET-CAMERA SCREEN", this IS ALREADY A HUGE TURNOFF TO JUST GO AHEAD AND GET A REFUND OF THAT F@** APP!!! Imagine that happening in the middle of an important shooting. I'll get rid of that Chinese crap now, and thanks for opening our Eyes Cal! (I just found out about your Channel and hit that Subscribe+Bell Notification button RIGHT ON!) Official support from the "company" being a 3rd equally important Issue OF COURSE! Bar none.

Hi Panos. Yea, I'm not really sure what would have been the cause in Protake where the 4K 60fps part was non-existent. That shouldn't be the case with any decent phone that isn't too old. I have an iPhone 11 Pro and can shoot 4K at 60fps in every app I have. Speaking of apps, have you looked into Beastcam as an alternative? I very much like it. I'ts cheap but really high quality as far as I've experienced. Let me know your thoughts.

@@timyaralli4065 Interesting. I do not have that email address showing on my phone. I have an iPhone 11 pro and an updated version of Protake. I only have Terms of Use and Privacy Policy links.

@@MobileCinematics This is indeed interesting. I have both Android and iPhone and it only shows up on Android. Never had a need to contact them so I never noticed until you mentioned it.

Protake I can use on my android and also ios device whit only pay once. The wifi transmission works for my I use the iPad as reciver. The only problem which I know is performance of android devices which not let me use more then 1080p whiteout framedrop.

OHH YES! And I forgot to even mention about that freaking YEARLY (wtf??!!!) subscription-based plan?!!! 14.99 Euros for the 1st Year and... A WHOPPING 19.99 Eu for EVERY YEAR THEREOF???! What IS THIS??? Is this a freakin' subscription-based Pro-Audio SOFTWARE (cause I'm mainly a Pro-Audio Guy), with EVERY newly developped Plug-In coming for free each year??? Oh come on guys at "Protake"... this is JUST an amateur app for shooting "serious" videos in your freakin' smartphone! COULD WE JUST GET SOME MORE SERIOUS THAN THAT PLEASE???????????

Interesting video! I use Protake everyday for my weekly members vlog and I'm really enjoying it. It's the only video app I've found that keeps my exposure settings consistent when I switch between cameras. I also dabbled with the wifi transmission feature and it worked for me. I also had a look at their Terms of Use and it's very strange. It mentions things like, "Members shall not use Protake to damage the honour of the nation". (Section 8) 'The nation' meaning China. Maybe their lack of web presence is linked to their location? 🤷‍♂

Glad to hear you had success with their wifi transmission. Still can't figure out what's going on with my connection. And as far as their web presence goes, companies like Huawei have sites even offering sections in English. I don't think it is a matter of the "Great Firewall", but it may have something to do with being based in China, whatever that may be. Nonetheless, having a background and history in business, a company offering products/services with no point of contact or discernible care for their customers doesn't sit right with me. Oh, and good find on their Terms of Use, David. Communist states nor the Communist Party of China do well with criticism. Ha.
