I should add with due respect that should also mention to put petitioner name or joint sponsor name in 1 of part 1 of I 864. It’s quite clear the name should be of joint sponsor if one. If petitioner is the sponsor then petitioner name should go there. Just for more clarity.

In part 6 item 7 type the amount of your income w2 from the previous year ! If your income is right depending your house size you don t need to add a co-sponsor in item 8 to 17. So in item 24a,b,c is about your anual amount single or jointly 1040. As I said if you make the right amount of income to qualify depending the house size don t complicate yourself adding more information It is what I-864 instructions says : Part 6 Item 7 Item Number 7. Current Individual Annual Income. Type or print your current, individual, earned or retirement, annual income that you are using to meet the requirements of this affidavit and indicate the total in the space provided. Also say that you may include your information about your expected income for the current year but you are not required
Hello, Your videos are really helpful. Quick question do we need to attach only sponsor's W2, tax return transcripts for i 864 as evidence or do we need to attach spouse beneficiary's w2 and tax return as evidence?
My partner is retired, if he applies for a sponsor, only the sponsor's papers will be filed on Form 1-864 or the petitioner's papers will also be filed.

Hi Kseniya, great channel and I love your videos! For Part 6, Question 7 you list the current individual income as $80,000, well above the poverty line. Is it necessary to fill out Part 5 Question 8 for the spouse beneficiary's income? And then 20 or 21? Thanks!
One final question: If the answer to question 23 ("Have you filed a Federal tax return for each of the three most recent tax years") is NO, then does the original petitioner/sponsor still need to provide evidence of their recent pay? (My spouse was unable to file her first tax return because she only moved back to the USA in June 2023). She has a joint sponsor (a US citizen sibling not living with her) who can file her last three tax returns.

If my spouse (US Citizen) doesn't have any income at all, should my spouse still choose 'I am the petitioner', and have my spouse's household members in part 5 & 6 as co-sponsor? Or should my spouse NOT fill this form, and have my spouse's household member fill as joint sponsor?
I send my i864 with all the correct information for both of my parents and the one for my mother they ask to be sign part 8 6a-b by hand and resubmit it

This video was very helpful. I have 2 questions 1- I am applying to myself and my son. I was recently married, but I still haven't changed my last name to my husband's last name. When is my last name changed? Do I need to fill in some form? 2- Part 6 - 24a, b, c - if the amount is not enough for the spouse and stepson, what is the amount the sponsor must have in savings or checking account to be considered sufficient?

I have a question regarding INCOME YOU ARE USING FROM ANY OTHER PERSON WHO WAS COUNTED IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD SIZE. If I'm not planning on using my wife (immigrant beneficiary) or anybody's income while I'm filing this application, do I just leave all that space blank and not check items 21 or 22 because none of those apply to us since we don't require sponsors and I don't use my wife's money. I understood it as it's people who are currently living with you and wants to offer financial support. I hope that makes sense.

I have been hearing that it is better to put the mailing address of the US spouse instead of the immigrant spouse's mailing address in Part 1 question 2a - 2i. Is this accurate? If so, what is the benefit or reason for this? Also - for Part 6 question 8 - 19 - if there are no other household members included in this, can 21 and 22 remained unchecked? You mentioned that it's often missed.

Part 3? Do not count the principal immigrant if you are sponsoring a family member. You over looked this. I'm sponsoring a family member and I am even more confused after watching the video. Who is this video intended for? Some sponsoring spouse or family member?

I filledout I-864EZ. he came alone to the US. and now his family is joining him .I am filling out I-486 for the rest of his family. The trickiest part over here is 24.a, 24.b and 24.c. From what I understand after reading an instruction from the website, we are not obligated to include last 3 years, only one year is required, and the form itself says that. So seems like we are not obligated to enter 24.b and 24.c in this form, we should do it only if we feel that our last year wasn't good enough. At least that is how I understand that. Otherwise it's hard to understand whether we meet the requirement of total income or not, what if our last year income was $150 000, but the previous two years had let's say $5000 ?
While only the most recent year is required, it’s ultimately up to the officer reviewing your case to decide if it demonstrates sufficient and consistent income. So basically you never know. I’ve seen people get RFEs even with millions of dollars in the bank.
@@KseniyaInternational So 24.b and 24.c are optional right? What confuses me is that they mentioned that we are obligated to send tax transcripts only of the last year but they didn't mark 24.b and 24.c fields as optional. I assume it's just their mistake, but want to make sure there are those who left those fields empty and got approved.
@@KseniyaInternational This note from the official instruction of the form disputes the statement that we have to file all the three years: NOTE: Do not leave the boxes for Item Number 24.a. blank. Type or print the most recent tax year and your total income for that most recent tax year. If the amount was zero, type or print “zero” or if you were not required to file a Federal income tax return type or print “N/A” for not applicable. I assume if 24.b and 24.c were required, they would include them in the instruction's note. I understand by your responses that most people include all the three years, but I have a feeling that it's not required. The question is, what is better, include two previous years with zero income(even though the last and current years covers even previous zeros) or do not include those two years hoping they are not required.
@@artemmarketer5745 I said should, not must 😉 if you don’t feel like those tax amounts will help you, don’t write them. But it’s always best to establish a good history of income especially if your tax returns show it.
So if i am filing for my wife and we have a new born baby and we have not yet claimed him for this years tax because he was born this year ,should i still add him to the household counts?
Two questions: One: If I am the sponser and I make no money or have a job do I check the unemployment box for for part 6 number 6? And would my current annual income be $0? Second question: For one of the years (2022) I didn't file taxes because I was a student and was below the threshold for filing taxes. So for part 6 24b do I put $0 or leave the box blank next to the year? Thanks :)
