I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ru-vid.comUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.

I got the elite sports Thai gloves they're terrible for the bag but they would be good for cheap sparring gloves

I have 3 out of 5 of these gloves in my amazon cart, so this was really, really helpful. I'm starting boxing early next year, and I've been wondering which glove(s) I should start out with. This was helpful. Thanks.

If you haven’t bought yet I would recommend buying one moderately expensive pair over 3 cheap pairs, once you see why they’re cheap you’re going to want better ones anyway

It's a toss up. I'd go with whichever one you like as far as design at that point.

I used to buy these cheaper gloves they usually last a year before falling apart or start to stink. Nowadays I buy the better more expensive gloves second hand sometimes like new. You have to look around in various market places online to find them. Brands like P.B.S Pro boxing Supply, Title, and Ringside are easy to find.

The dimex ones are cheap and really good. I’ve been doing mma for 2 years now and I’ve had lots of gloves Yokkao, Twins etc but I actually genuinely prefer the feel of the $10 dimex ones 😂 To add on that I’ve owned 3 pairs of them the first pair was ruined within a week because I didn’t clean them however the two I bought since have lasted me over a year just from wiping the insides after training.

I have a pair fairtex sparring gloves and a pair of twins sparring gloves I have some rival bag gloves as well I like to try and take care of my gloves I train in muay thai so

Quality brands. Yes, take care of your gear. I have pairs I’ve had for over 10 years that are like new because I take good care of my gear.

Honestly, I like buying cheaper boxing and Muay Thai equipment because when I buy expensive brands, I don't dig into them like I do with brands like Everlast that are cheaper and that I don't care about. The cheaper brands generally come with firmer padding which I like, and yeah, they're cheaper so I just buy a new pair of gloves when they start to tear. When I use my Fairtex or Twins or Winning gloves, I think too much about them when I'm using them. I donno, maybe it's just me.

Yes, if your hands are big you’ll just have to wrap your hands differently. Maybe less on the knuckles and more on the wrist etc.

Those are affordable and they do the job for beginners. If you like them, they will work out just fine. If your training intensifies, you may have to look to higher end gloves, but these affordable options will do fine in the meantime.

Issue with cheap gloves is they generally start off solid but after a few weeks it wears out.

yeah, they are good for people starting out and on a budget. If you plan on training for the long haul you want to move to the more expensive leather gloves. I have gloves I've had for more than 10 years that are like new.

@@mossyman3682 expensive leather gloves. I have quite a few, but they are from different companies. I have expensive everlast gloves, and expansive title boxing gloves, higher end Fairtex and Venom gloves and so on. Mostly if you pay for the premium leather gloves with more effort put into their construction, you will get gloves that last.

@@S_A1.. there is no such thing as perfect. It really depends on the size of your hands and how hard you’re hitting right now. You could probably get away with 12oz or 14oz, but if you’re sparring they usually require 16oz.

I breathe out when I strike. Yes, you should exhale when you throw punches. never hold your breath.

that depends on his size and the size of his hands. 14oz may be a good middle ground to start, but most coaches require 16oz if he's sparring, but the coaches would advise you of that.
