Just a quick unboxing video of my new Commander X16 Developer Edition, with an amusing twist.
The Commander X16 is a neat "retro" computer design based on the 6502 CPU and uses all through hole parts instead of squishing everything into a tiny board that features an expensive FPGA.
You can order your own Commander X16 here: texelec.com/product/cx16-preo...

I just received my pr000743. They are moving units lol :) There are no instructions for the chip upgrades, but they only fit in their respective sockets and are uniform across the board. I was just looking around to see what we have for content created on the subject. Im still waiting for my case! lol Thanks for posting. I hope to see more in the future.

If only I could fine a practical use for something like this, I'd love to tinker. Until then, you'll have to do it for me, Gene.

"Practical" has nothing to do with it. ;)

Obviously! Though you could do a nice 8-bit render of the F15 HUD on a 320x200 screen maybe? ;-)

Great content! ..... I im trying to assimilate some info for a parts printer from those not ambiguously selling them. If you were starting out today which 3d printer would you go with for making parts ...you dont have to say why just the model. I can infer the rest ..please 🙏 thanks

That depends entirely upon what kind of parts you need to print.

@@f15sim PLA or similar nothing outside the norm... but curious to what material is used for rigid precision parts when I see people making say linear rail parts etc.. It's my understanding that on leading machines it's just changing nozzles and software for different material to a certain extent at least .. but I'm new and just trying to gather info on which machines and companies some with experience like over others ... without being targeted by yt feeds in the Bernaysian malaise

@@hobonickel840If you're completely new to 3D printing and you're more interested in using a 3D printer as a tool and not a hobby unto itself, I would recommend either a Bambu Lab P1S or, if you have the budget for it, an X1C. Proprietary bits aside, they're the easiest printers to get successful prints out of with zero effort on the user's part.

I've heard lots about BBL and most of it is noise regarding their business model .. thanks for sharing!

Buy a machine. Don't screw around with DIY machines unless you've got an endless supply of patience. :)
