I BOUGHT A FORD MONDEO WITH BAD PAINT WORK ! 

Hi Guys, Just a quick video on a Ford Mondeo I purchased from auction a few weeks ago, its a little tatty but I thought it was worth a go. 👍👍👍👍

My MOT tester failed failed my car for a crack in the screen that lower and smaller than that,autoglass came out and replaced it on my windscreen cover said it should have passed,it's mad a new screen is worth the value of the car

534 quid for a rick astley cd aint too bad, seeing as it came with a free mondeo to play it on. 😊

These are mondeos are great workhorses on my 2nd one of these for work in the building game as lot better value than a van get plenty in them too. Had the 2 litre Titanium X Diesel ran into the ground and now on the 1.8 Tdci which is fine flew through the mot only paid a £1000 for it a year with 122k and new clutch done on an 09 plate. I wouldn’t care about bodywork as long as it starts and get you too work. There’s a owner out there for every car.

Had a 08 plate 1.8 Diesel version of this car . The best car i had ever had, nice and roomy and great to drive. Then this march the stupid internal wet belt went bang. Now crushed .😢

I live near Dewsbury which is Kirklees council . Kirklees is the biggest council area in the UK Kirklees allow 15 years old taxis . So this Mondeo could possibly be used were I live. Bound to be some councils were there isn't a limit as long as the car is safe . You being a Mechanic and MOT will know there more stringent for Taxis. Don't know if all councils are the same but round here they are tested twice a year. Regarding the wrap for a cheap car either someone puts up with the paint or Could the side that's bad have the side rapped in a matching silver or is it not possible to get the right shade of silver ?. Bargain to be fair despite the awful paint job and finish. If the oily bits are fine and it’s got a ticket on it, it would make a half decent daily to knock about in and literally park anywhere. I might be in the market for something like that myself in a few months time - literally just to run up and down the motorway so I’ll have to keep an eye out or give you a shout mate! Bet an old boy had it. The paint is a good giveaway (or my blind and elderly Labrador) My cmax has this engine and is a belting performer. Would consider something like this to replace the 1 series i had written off a couple of weeks ago.

Low mileage diesel mandy go for yrs. If a person wasn't fussy about how it looks. I would personally do a wet sand and a rattle can job ive done it b4 on a off road 4x4 Wasnt perfect but definitely better than the way that looks 👌

Here in New Zealand any damage to the windscreen in the driver's view has to be rectified. My Mazda 6 had a chip so fortunately that could be fixed. But any cracks it's a replacement windscreen (Most car Insurance here has glass cover so no biggie).

Previous owner Mr Cheeseman😂 I think for the age they still look pretty good and I liked the chrome effect insider, better than the modern obsession with black plastic gloss.

Really good motors them Mondeo , brought and sold loads , shame about the paint ! But still a very good run about for some one

I had a Galaxy with 2.0 diesel 235k miles and still going strong but dual mass flywheel went so want worth doing unfortunately. Great engines!

This Mondeo is a good little workhorse for someone. Keep it in good mechanical condition and it'll likely do 10,000 to 15,000 miles per year fuss free motoring for several years. 100k for a 2 litre diesel is not a lot of miles at all especially considering the car is 15 years old. Diesels can go way beyond 200k miles if they're serviced and maintained properly. I see that it's failed its recent MOT but getting a new numberplate and sorting out a swivel pin won't cost much. Looking at the MOT history, this car has obviously been well maintained despite the fact that it costs 2 balloons. And you don't have to worry about parking it anywhere or someone keying it because the paint is shite. Bonus.

I currently have a love affair with my recently acquired 08' Mondy so I'm biased 😅 but kinda sad that the paintwork does let this one down some. It will make the new owner very happy though - it couldn't fail to, I have the same engine and it's a beauty 🏆 Nice vid 😎👍🏼

Be a great cheap work car being diesel, seems a good engine.only thing letting it down is os paintwork, and cracked windscreen, but will make a good honest car for someone.

New windscreen, service costs, and potential issues at MOT - I can see why you would want to move it on - nice easy £100 made.

Lovely car that. Shame someone’s done wrong by it with the rattle can job! I did sell my 120d and made a £350 profit which isn’t bad considering no one was calling me about it and it went twice round on eBay because of a time waster. Just bought an Astra h Sri 1.6T for £650, mot till dec 122k with some lovely aftermarket Bola alloy wheels and nearly new tyres on it which are worth about what I paid for the whole car lol. Just wants the gearbox bearings doing as it’s the M32 6 speed which suffers from bearing issues.

Buff that 'paint'off and you may be surprised to see what's there. Nice car, good sell & deal Lee!

Well i'm hoping iv'e done the right thing..i've bought a 2008 Mazda 2.0D SL estate, central locking only opens with the key , but it's only done 87k and mot till jan..but it's fully loaded with every option

Ideal workhorse for someone. Evri ( hermes) self employ their couriers so the paint job is irrelevant but good mechanicals is essential and it's an ideal size for their parcels . Some of the sheds they use are far worse than that . ( I used to agency drive HGV for them ) .

Hi lee 91 pounds profit at least you haven't lost .Bodywork is in shambles not worth spending a lot of money on it given its age.

what baffles me is that people who love cars think that ALL car dealers are car enthusiasts - most are making a living and haven't got time for that. Then when you go to new car showrooms you meet people who are trained to sell finance - they would sell you a mortgage or a time share with their skill set - most have zero interest in cars

Paint is Paint. It's not a deciding factor on a Car of this price as you know. In my opinion it is worth £450 all day long. Good value as I see it. Even if you have to spend £700 on it before sale, you'll still get £1800 at least for it I would think.

Get a couple of doors & wing in colour be a nice car,102k is great miles,I've owned a scruffy 195k 2008 for 2 years i paid £500 & got my money back after doing 30k in it

Great tips on checking cars. I think you may of missed a trick. There are lots of people who just want a good mechanical car, not too fussed about a few dents, scratches or poor paint. Although too old got taxi it would be perfect for someone who wanted yo get into self employed Amazon deliverer Anyway good quick profit

The crack goes into the swept area and is longer than 40 mm in that bit so it’s a fail

That screen would fail MOT in Northern Ireland.

How anyone thought this was acceptable and was happy to drive around like this, to me says a lot about the person. At least spend a couple of hundred doing it properly so you would get some good money for it in the first place. No one will sort this now anyway but as you say, someone will use it mechanically. Cheap car at £534 though, these Mondeos are pretty strong.

Is that the Peugeot/Citroen diesel? The paintwork wouldn’t really bother me on a car like this, it’s a work horse in my opinion

Mondeos are good car's someone by me has got one this era other thsn that ay seen one for ages older or this Gen out on the road just a lot of Crossovers . Getting rarer do you reckon these would be cheap to insure for a young lad I'm yet to pass my test I want to drive Intrested in Cars have been most of my life. I know a 2.0 Litre would be expensive but how about 1.6 would that be cheaper than an equivalent Hatchback

Oh and what is wrong with Ford? We have best sellers - Mondeo - Focus - and Fiesta - Such benchmarks even the class is named after them - ie Mondeo class. Ford...... Nah we wont bother anymore. Its like Tesco saying carrots are old hat so they won't be selling them any more.
