Life is getting so out of hand expensive. It’s nice to see people getting some nice wants!! I’m relegated to bargain bin hunting for the time being!!! Great video!!
I have been pulling some great stuff out of bargain bins man. Miller DD , ASM's from 360-390's , Batman arcs...Marvel Tales, Superman keys. It's out there. Keep hunting!
*_Win-win-win: He got the books sold and picked up, your buddy has now a near complete ASM run; and you don't have to buy your buddy any more ASM books._* Edit for an abnormal spelling error.
That's a great thing you did for your friend. Even with him paying you back just finding a collection like that is AMAZING!!! Sorry, couldn't help myself. Just wish could find an Xmen collection like that.
I’m working on the entire ASM run from #1 to present myself. Almost got 600 books. Oldest one is issue #21 so far, but I am missing #194 and #300 also. Your friend got some great books!
The grail of all grail runs... in my opinion! I picked up a collection of about 450 books last year for $800, and it had over 100 ASMs, including 100, 101, 194, 210 and of course a handful of other minor keys.
Such a beautiful collection there, James. Too bad the footage didn't work, but those books just look awesome. I'm glad your buddy has those books to enjoy.
I haven't been reading comics for long but I have read a lot of fantastic four and spiderman and they are both great comics one of the things I enjoy about spiderman is that his comics don't just have him as spiderman for you know 90% of the time they dive a lot into his own personal life and the life struggles he has to deal with and he also has some really cool villians
You’re the man, that’s an incredible pick up indeed. Congrats to your buddy. And there are so many cool covers with this run. I’m always drawn to ASM 317. Amongst all the other covers, that McFarlane one to me is just…..nah I won’t say it, you know what I mean though 😄
Been working on the ASM run for the last 2 years. I’m current on the new 1, finished up volume 5 and 4 this past week. Need 2 more to finish up volume 3. It’s been fun and painful on the pocket.
It was some really sweet books in there one that I liked which you only showed the top was that 306 McFarland book with the army to the first superman that’s a nice book
Those were some nice books, I have an ASM collection that I’ve been working on since junior high. Unfortunately the lower the issue number the exponentially more expensive they get. Also, are you going to the Philly Comic-Con the weekend of April 9? It’s the first big show since before the pandemic.
i just started reading comics i dont have a big colaction but i have about 50 comics mostley spiderman and spawn your yt chanel is the first i watched and i love your vids
I’m working on my Spectacular Spider-Man web of Spider-Man web of doom plush punisher x-men crossovers spent £77 on a huge stack at a local Southampton mini comic con!
you honestly have some great content, but ONE thing i would say, to take it to the next level. Is better audio, maybe a good mic, or invest in room dampening material.
If I knew you were coming into my neck of the woods (I live in Brooklyn), I might have met up with you for lunch. I know all the good spots to eat and shops to dig in.
Sic collection!!! Too rich for my blood but man that's gotta be exciting!!! Great video, even though it's a make up video from the original content.lol.
A reasonable price for high grade comics in mylars! Did the seller buy them off the shelf and if so how old was he/she? (My 1976 comics don't look that nice because I was 9 when i bought them and didnt bag everything until '77 or '78.)
Interesting. He left 238 and not 289 (I just bought this books slabbed. Beautiful book but Newton ring 🤦🏽♂️). I am extremely biased as Hobgoblin collector, but best covers ASM covers in the 200s are all the Hobgoblin covers. Be well!
@@NotSoAmazing Yes, it depends on the severity of the Newton rings. Some books just look abysmal with the widespread rings and are impossible to sell, so reholder is a must. The rings for my book are there but do not take away from the overall presentation of the book (this is why I am not returning book since it was significantly discounted already). It's a pc book, but I would definitely need to offer a discount because buyer might wants to reholder the book. I know there is a lot of CGC gospel online, but my friends 9.8 book were all beat up after the reholder. I know it's anecdotal but I am not going to reholder for now. My book is a legitimate 9.6 and slightest mishandling will bump it down. I do need to research non-reholder solutions for Newton rings.
Just tell us the total amount not the per unit price. Your buddy sounds like he’s just trying to flip them anyways. So straight up was it $1000 for 110 books then? Carnage hobgoblin a couple hundred bucks right there. No black cat eh and the 298 looks like part of some other collection due to its abnormal condition but if your buddy is just sending them to CGC anyways he doesn’t care if it’s complete
