Today, I introduce to you my newest purchase! I bought the cheapest running, but not driving Saab 9-3 Viggen in the USA. This car has a fully rebuilt engine with Wosner pistons, ARP Studs, a New timing Chain, and a freshly sealed, and renovated cooling system. However, the transmission clutch went bad and the owner DUMPED the car and we are going to bring this back to full glory. Subscribe and join me on the build.

Nice score! You're gonna regret selling it, until you get ahold of a Viggen Vert, and even then you will still regret selling the hardtop. With a fresh engine build you have 200k before you will have issues. Make sure and check the transmission input shaft for excess play before you sew it back up. Common issue, which can sound like a rattling slave cylinder. Gonna be an AWESOME PROJECT. Track it at least once. Trust me. They'll have to peel mine from my cold dead hands....lol.

Oh boy here we go! I'm on SAAB 14-15, I lose track. 01 LR 5Dr. 140K miles, just fried #4, in machine shop as we speak with 91mm Wossners and chain, bearings, guides.... everything else stock but shortly Stage 2 and 3" DP; usual suspension tweaks. Good luck with this one I'll be watching :)

Congrats, Kyle, I'm excited for you and this Viggen! My '99 9-3 cv 5spd is at the shop getting its 2nd bumper due to rear-end accident. So I'm now driving an '08 9-5 wgn 5spd and really enjoying it. Similar experiences so far, but I liked your story about the cop and the DMV, always look on the brightside.😉

Not too shabby. I have a 05 saab 9 5, but i might have to get rid of it. I've had a power steering leak. Apparently the power steering needs to be redone. I need to get the high pressure hoses all replaced and need rack and pinion redone. Might need a new pump too. There's like 180k miles on it, decent amount of rust. Had to replace the muffler recently because it rusted out and fell off. I miss my Toyota. Some lady hit me and totaled it a few years back and I bought the Saab. They're cool cars and great if they were really taken care of. Im also in NJ. The mechanic said it would be over 2k to do the power steering and apparently the parts are really hard to find for them

I had a 2001 Champagne Viggen Convertable from new. Loved it and in its time very fast. It was my 12th SAAB and I still have one 2003 93SE Cab in black.

The Viggen wasn't available in champagne, only Lightning Blue, Black, Silver, Steel Gray, Monte Carlo Yellow, and Laser Red

I maintain that even a stock Viggen on the highway is still a quick car next to 90% of what is out there now.

@@KylePancis silver ‘01 good paint not faded. great interior. 100k miles with working top. wheels are bent and it needs a general going through for wear items. one owner car and the gentleman passed away so i snagged it up.

Slave cylinders are a very common problem on Saabs. I’ve never done one before but I imagine it’s probably not too difficult to replace. Most things are pretty straightforward on those cars if you’re familiar with Saabs, which obviously you are. It’s funny on almost all Saabs that I’ve seen from this generation that are equipped with a manual transmission the gearshift pattern is missing from the shift knob and it looks like this car is no exception.

Please may we have an update as I now work further on my 1999 Viggen with repaired correctly exhaust to manifold catalyst and fixed air con pipe that went sick due to the exhaust issue.
