Love these Hobao trucks! I’ve had more than my fair share of bad landings too! Those huge tyres just generate so much centrifugal force they can be hard to get to fly straight. They just want to flip! Good stuff Vas, I like that you show the good jumps along with the bad - always keeping it real, honest and transparent. Keep it up 💪👊
Hi bash I hope y'all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I'm glad to see a new video from you and I hope the rest of the year that you would do good in the IC world and I hope everybody will be okay this year thank you😃🙏🌟💯
@ 3:40 I've repaired semi-split arms with Shoo Goo! Yes! Remove arm from truck with hinge pin installed & coat over with Shoo Goo. I use gloves & popsicle stick to press into material & bond/bind with arm. Cures fully in 3-4 days & held Serpent 811te maybe 4-5 months. Did on front arm Serpent Srx8e and held similar time. Truggy was rear hub carrier...
Been wanting one of these for a while, I race a Hobao VSE Pro 1/8th buggy at the local track and you can see the shared DNA in the way it drives compared to a lot of the other relatively short MTs on 6S. Looks controllable and fun. Those landings that broke the arms were sickening, i have no doubts about the durabiliry of this thing if that is what it takes to break the arms!
Another great vid Vas. Isn’t it always the way? As soon as you say “ok one more” it’s like you curse yourself 🤣🤣. Hope it wasn’t a too bad a fix and we see it out again. Good to see you back here mate. 😎👊🏼👍🏼
Happy new year to you and the family. Great video mate I did exactly the same thing in the same spot 2 weeks ago hahaha. I broke the inside turning eyelet on my 6s kraton it's a unforgiving track mate 👍🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha, yeah, that track has claimed many RCs over the years, but equally, a lot have conquered it. It's an awesome location and the MTX will be back for more. Happy New Year to you as well. 🙂
I shouldn't watch , the truck is really nice and takes a hard beating. Now I want this to, very hard hits and just the arms broke. Great video to watch as usual Vas. Hobao is a tank, and runs great. It's so hard to not buy one.
Hey Vass, awesome to see you dropping a new video right at the start of the new year.! Every RC enthusiast should try themselves a Hobao... Especially their 8th scale platforms. In my opinion Hobao make some of the best value & best quality RCs you can get.! As always... Stay safe out there & best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ♥ 📻 🎮 🔋 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚔 🚕 🚖 🚗 🚘 🚙 🚚 🚛 🚜 🏎️ 🏍️ 🚤 🛥️ ✈️ 🛩️ 🚁.! (btw, thanks for your reply mate, it means a lot.!thumb 👍 👍 my ankle is mending nicely... I'll be out bashing before I know it.!... Definitely before the surgeon would prefer 😂)
Hi Aussie I've ordered my new hyper hobao monster truck roller not the one you've driving but I was thinking roller better because you can put your own electric in what you went too 😀😉
@@AussieRCPlayground I don't know if I'd call it clumsy driving. It's just pushing the limits as far as I'm concerned. As long as I've been in the hobby if I'm not pushing the limits I'm not really having fun anymore :-) Great video!
Great video Vas. What do you think about the batteries being on the sides?, I’m worried they might get damaged if landing wrong. But what I’ve seen with a few dodgy landings, they seem to be ok. Also I’ve had a few close calls with that open pit as well. Would be good if the council did fix that. 🤨. 👍🏼🚗
I've had a few of these trucks now and I've never had any batteries get damaged. In fact, I've had more batteries get damaged in conventional battery trays than in this "saddle style" design. You've got nothing to worry about. 🙂👍
Hi Vas , I have a question since you have both the mtx and the Mt plus 2 , which one you think is better , I'm planning on buying 1, appreciate your help
That's a really good question... I think if I had to buy one and it had to be RTR, I'd go with the MTX. They've made some improvements in this version that work really well and the power system suits this truck a lot better. However, if you were quite happy to get the roller and dump your own electrics in there, then I'd probably pick the MT Plus II. But, you would need a low KV (around 1400-1700kv) 40mm diameter motor with a minimum of 82mm long. The RTR version of the MT Plus II comes with the same power system that's in all their other 1/8 scale cars and it's just not enough for such a bit truck. Plus, the stock servo would need to be replaced as well, so the roller just makes more sense. That's provided you want that bigger truck as well. Of course, you can get the roller MTX as well if you want to use your own electrics, but the RTR is just fine.
@@AussieRCPlayground thank you so much for such a detailed reply , really appreciate your kind and quick help as I really wanted the opinion of someone who had both. Thanks again 🙏🙏
Well Vas, in all fairness both landings that causes the breaks were directly related to your breaking, hopefully we can see it hit the big jumps, maybe some badlands or 6s backflips will help with traction
@@AussieRCPlayground awesome, I've seen a lot of reviews on this, so far everyone seems to love it, hopefully it's not all fluff for getting free trucks
Great video Vas . Can the saddle packs be moved back a bit ? . Seems nose heavy . Nice truck can take some punishment. Looking forward to seeing the Vas tune and tyres . As always a professional assessment. Thanks
Happy new year everyone! That was a bad hit. No truck would have survived that. Just out of curiosity Vas, how long do you need to drive to the BMX track? I like to drive on construction yards a lot but most of the time they put fences around it unfortunately.
It takes me about 45min if traffic plays nice or could be about an hour if the freeway is backed up. Construction sites are totally out of bounds here as they're always fenced off. Even empty blocks of land with no construction happening yet, get fenced off, so this track is pretty much my best option. I usually take a few cars with me to make the trip worth my while, because if I have to drive there just for 1 or 2 cars, it's just not worth it.
@@AussieRCPlayground That's a very long drive to find a nice place. So that's why you take several cars with you at a time. I think I have less troubles to find a spot in the densely populated Netherlands. But the best bash spots are usually temporarily unfortunately. Sometimes you don't realize how much work it is to make a few videos for RU-vidrs like yourself. Let alone that it you need to edit the videos too. So thanks again for this video. It was fun and interesting to watch. 👍
@@gerardscheffer8848 thank you for the kind words and for the acknowledgement of what goes into making some of this content. Most people only see the 10min that's uploaded and never consider the hours it took to make it, so I really appreciate your comment. Thank you. 😎👍
@@AussieRCPlayground Well I follow your channel for many years and enjoy it very much. So I appreciate the effort you put in to it. I hope you have fun to continue to do this for a long time. See you in the next one. 👍
Good thing about the arms they all the same. Regretted selling my plus 2 so got another. My fav truck. Don’t jump furthest or not quickest but massive fun. Think you unlucky with the arms tbh.
Yeah, was a bit unlucky, but also the brakes were set at 50% from factory and that's just a tad too strong for this truck. But it's all good, truck is fixed and will be back for more. 😉
So many positive comments about this truck yet it broke, twice! I know the hits were hard but comments like 'built like a tank' seem kind of misplaced. Looking at this video it didn't make me want to rush and buy this expensive RC.. Looked hard to control on the ground and in the air.
"Built like a Tank" comments are relating to how little it broke given the impacts. I would hate to think what I would've broken had those crashes been with some of my other RCs. And I'd have to agree with those comments because even though it did break, I only broke a couple of A-arms. Also, I've seen a few other videos of some pretty hard bashing with no breakages to report. Does that mean you're wrong? No, not at all. I would encourage checking out other videos to get a better overall picture of what this truck can take and make a more educated assessment of it. Maybe your opinion will change, maybe it won't. Either way, don't let my bad driving be the driving factor in your opinion of this truck. 🙂
@@AussieRCPlayground the fact is Vas you are a very good driver but this is the trouble with big heavy rigs, when you crash hard most will break. A 10th scale might fair a little better.
@@TheflyingkiwiRC I appreciate the kind words, but the fact actually is that I can be a great driver, however, I wasn't on this day. I haven't been doing much driving at all in the last few months due to our constant bad weather and I know I was off my game in this video. I can't say I agree with you regarding a 1/10 scale car (I assume you have a specific one in mind), but something like my Maverick Quantum or even my Senton or Kraton 4S would not come out of those crashes any better. But I digress, the truck is fixed, I've adjusted the brakes on the ESC and I'll be going back with different tyres to see how it performs, so we'll see if I can get through a full pack without breaking it or if these problems persist. 🙂
