Yes! I think most woodworkers are really mostly concerned with safety. Like…. The habit of putting your off hand fingers on the front of your skillsaw. I totally hold the guard off when needed, but for sure don’t rest my fingers where the blade is. Won’t comment on the lack of push stick, because you have a SawStop… and considering your other material choices, you can afford the new blade/brake. ;-) All that said, do love the re-purpose of things, one of my favorite things to do with Auction finds.

I 100% agree, I don’t mind if someone’s passionate and gives me the info or correction like the difference between a dado and rabbet, there are vulgar ppl but oh well. Knowledge is king and I appreciate anyone sharing what they know and I’ve learned so much from the Makers and my favorite the Woodworking community!

I locate and grab all the cheap pallet rack I can get. I turned to my friend once and he said " Pallet racking is a weird beast; you can't find it when you need it, and when you don't it is all over the place for free ". His words have haunted me for three years now.......but I'm close...just a few more pieces needed. Best wishes with your project!

@ 22:54 glad to see that someone has cracked the code / those latches have been around for years, and I comment on channels all the time telling what you just did BUT I have always used the nylon string that you buy to lay out you form work ( ledger boards ) and if it is the orange type it should make the escape more noticeable

@ 26:12 you have learned a valuable lesson / gutters cause more problems than they solve / they have ice damns in cold climates and leaves, in the south they over flow into facia / solution wider eaves to direct rain away from house and they give better shade

The glue on the disc sander will definitely be degraded. You might want to add a small client at the highest point on the wall. It will do much for the evening out of the temperature. You should also consider placing som insulation foam in the ceiling since that would be getting the most sunlight from the top and it will radiate inside a lot. It's ridiculous how hot it can get inside a metal roof shed without any ventilation. You should also put down some plastic underneath to separate the inside from the moisture comming up through the concrete. Avoid if possible a to small.of a gap between the ground and the wood on the sides since it will.allow water to sit or even wick up between the wood and the metal inside. Great build I would need something a bit bigger though so will have to find another solution.
@jewdd1989

I hope you film the other shed too. I really like this idea for a smaller shed which let’s be real, everyone could use multiple sheds or purpose oriented like for gardening, wood storage, etc. This makes first time shed builders like myself more approachable and I think it looks pretty sturdy. In my area in sw KS we get tornado like winds, sturdy and able to stay upright is ideal which I’m betting I could anchor to concrete pads or even blocks buried down. I’m desperately needing to either build or buy a shed (I need really two, one big and one smaller) so I can finally address my filthy, unorganized garage turned woodshop. I really miss your organization builds so much so this was fun! That coffee station and moveable fans will be burnt into my memory for ever lol! Anyways great project, it makes sense especially because the metal frame will be sturdy and Home Depot brand sheds now are framed with metal more than they used to be I think to avoid rot so very neat. Thank your store owner, great idea
@Poundy
@Poundy Месяц назад
only comment - you probably did the wrong thing with roofing screws. You should have screwed into the RIDGE not the valley, you've now got a point where the water could get in if your rubber grommets deteriorate (or should I say WHEN)... Best thing to do now is flip them over and voila, they're screwed into the ridge! :) Love your builds. Looking forward to seeing what the next transformation of the workshop will be!

If you do a LOT of finishing / painting consider getting a Fuji spray mini mite 5 or similar. I had an Earlex 5500 HVLP for years and recently upgraded to the Fuji. Wow what a difference. I can actually spray paint out of it unlike the Earlex and poly lays down way smoother. We’ve used it for a ton of projects and jobs.

Great build, considering the basic structure is available for cheap! Those racks are EVERYWHERE for sale. I hope you can give us a follow up (maybe mid-summer) for the status of the cast iron tops, now coated in the CM product. I live just about 4 hours south of you and the summer humididity here is nuts.I have been on the fence about these products, but can't get over the cost. I guess I should factor the time I spend cleaning, sanding and waxing my tops every four months to keep up with the rust.

Honest question, but why could you not make it slant towards the house and have an overhang that would make use of the gutter that is behind it?
