@@dankest_chip216 Now that i think about it, you're kinda right. I mean, if we can eat dirt, all we have to do is find a way to turn dirt into liquid and boom, drinkable land. Slightly Impossible, but that won't stop me!
I love how instead of his second channel vids being just highlights from the stream, he actually edits them properly like you are watching the main channel
@Polandball It’s slightly less quality content, and he’s said that he doesn’t edit these ones. If I remember right, he hires editors for these vids. Don’t get me wrong, I love these videos a lot, but they don’t have the main channel feel, yknow?
Most people who play from the depths, try to make the biggest and best ship, maybe a WWII ship or something. Martincopants must have woken up one morning and thought “I’m going to make a ship with a piss laser on it”.
If you don't want to use LAMS invest in either an advanced canon CIWS or missle interceptor rockets. You can also cheese easily by making a loooonggg pole at either end of your ship with a ton of radar decoys on them. Good luck & good sailing *Addendum* Additionally, you could also look at either increasing the power plant of your vessel so you get more speed *or* heavily uparmor. If you're going the speed route aim for at the very least 35 m/s. A mix of active defenses and passive ones like armor are key.
@@aggressivetoast Just telling you the game takes learning how to build individual systems and you learn hull shaping and how to make shit float and armor has to be meters thick to be any decent. It's the kind of thing where people who aren't very good at understanding what they're told won't really get it even after dozens of hours, but the discord is there to help and you'll slowly be able to accumulate knowledge. By a few hundred hours you'll see anything is buildable in from the depths, regardless how batshit insane or how it seemed impossible to you before.
pro tip instead of making one massive piss laser, make 25 smaller piss lasers across a large area, so that at least 5 lasers are always able to hit an enemy even if it's flying
I still have nightmares about it, but the megalodon is also, somewhat meta. The thing with the megalodon for my building style at leas, is that it is a gift that keeps on giving, you will get it too damaged before it sinks, never the other way around.
@@DuskTheBatPony I wouldn't call meg meta since, ironically, in a game primarily about combat between surface vessels, ships are one of the worst type of vehicles, if not the worst. Though it is a very good boat none the less, you need to be either be good at the game to beat it in 1v1 or overwhelm it with worse designs.
@@Ivy_TSG yeah exactly, it is meta in the building sense, but it is a shame that in this game ships are the worst kind of vessel, lmao. I still love warship, to warship combat though, that is why I love Meg so much.
@Mialisus they are a gimmick but still work somewhat, I find krakens to be better at cheesing enemies. Just make a craft that sticks to the bottom of the ocean and uses huge missiles with harpoons and a ton of engine power to sink the other ship and kill it for it being too low. Yeah really cheesy.
Hmmm. I can half kill one with my designs. But that is the thing... Half kill it. Unless I go for submarine cheese and use particle cannons// But its been a year since I last picked this game up to play... Have a sweet hydrofoil ship that is my masterpiece that I had built up in the adventure mode.

Missed a golden (!) opportunity to name the ship "Pissmarck"
@@Feraligono well yeah, and exactly that makes it a bit hard to use as a projectile weapon. Unless you want to throw little pac pieces on your enemy, then it may work.
@@nbyv well, if you wanted to get real technical, PACs are rather volatile systems. So you could have the ship produce suicidal PAC drones set up to break their own accelerator pipes upon impact with the enemy. Although that would be incredibly cost-inefficient compared to just filling the drone with an advanced cannon system that detonates in a similar manner.
You should look into using steam engines. They're more material hungry, like 50+ mat/sec for larger ones, but you can get millions of horsepower out of them if made properly. Plus you can attach turbines for electricity generation or propellers for moving.
OK, NOW I want to get to From the Depths because my particle cannon idea was formerly impractical when the recharge mechanics were HARD BAKED into the stupid game! But watching urine laser in action has made me want to give the game on the whole...a second chance!
1000m of particle tubing later and you can have the most op game breaking weapon in the game. Only downside is that it drains 10 million power per shot
Thank you for the videos, it gives the game much needed popularity, even if we got some bad reviews because viewers don't expect the difficulty of the game, FTD is really great and easy to use once you get it down
I have watched every stream on boat game on the vods channel and i know whats coming next I am intreged to see how the frog portrays the events that are to come
So next design needs a bunch of anti-air guns that have full view of everything and can freely rotate. Also it’s probably a good idea to have some kind of reactive armor or shields to protect the main gun and the power source from getting destroyed.
Hey Martin I have a suggestion about a game that i would like to see a video about the game is called subnautica. It is an underwater survival game and if you like big ships like from the depths then you will like subnautica
Really loved this episode, there wasn't unnecesary yelling every twenty seconds. And unlike most livestream dumps, this is edited nicely. And I also really appreciate the commentary.
I love how the devs called a bloody howitzer as C-RAM(Counter Rocket, Artillery, Mortar. Basically CIWS, but better) to confuse the f//ck out of the players trying to set up the missile defense for their ship. Spoiler alert: howitzers AREN'T great at intercepting munitions:(
That's because they're not a C-RAM, they're CRAM, as in cram all those splodey bits into that big honking shell casing! It doesn't actually stand for anything, they were just a replacement for the old Custom Cannons that got supplanted by Advanced Cannons.
they're not C-RAM they're cram cannons you doofus they're called cram cannons because you cram the sub modules together when building them, and they're just unofficially called that when they are the alternative of advanced cannons [they used for a long time the same system as the old custom cannons, adv cannons had their own schtick] the unofficial name stuck and now they're known as cram cannons, but good job assuming shit
@@JabberwockOclock I miss custom cannons, when I got a new computer i forgot to transfer over the builds and I lost the original fuel refinery block and my custom cannon ships
If you want your laser to look up you can do a bit of crafty engineering and have 2 single axis turrets, one attached to the boat controlling the horizontal and the other attached to the first turret, controlling the vertical, with this method you can have the laser transceivers set up so that the one on the turret stays in it's position and you can supply the laser turret with power. One of the scarlet dawn vessels uses this method so you can take a look at it in the designer and see what I'm talking about. I'll have to check in the morning which craft it is but ik it's one of SD's
i find it funny at 5:56 he says “Hello There!” and the guy who died just went FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU+ and thats just so funny to see someone rage-spam
I personally recommend Advanced Cannon flak guns for missile/projectile defense, due to the large AOE and the fact that if built right, they can shoot a lot of bullets very quickly, thus making most missiles and CRAM cannons ineffective
