Deltarune chapter 2 is finally out. As a huge Undertale fan, I'm very excited Coffee/Tea: topofthemornincoffee.com Download the game for FREE: deltarune.com/ Undertale Playthrough: • SHOW SOME MERCY | Unde...
I feel like Toby finally found that cartoon splat sound after all the years of him trying to find it and now is getting his mother fuckin moneys worth out of it.
I actually just got into playing Undertale and then Deltarune, so I got to play two chapters at once lol .... Sigh now I gotta wait at least a year for a new chapter
@@darkmetal2412 probably longer than a year, I’d expect around 3 years again, but I’ve also heard that Toby was working on chapter 2 alongside other chapters, so it might take less time/more time depending on if he’s planning to release more than one at once
I like how Toby could just have made the path to the city inaccesible, where you get out of the school but you cant change screens to the city, but instead he brought back a running gag with undyne. Like "how do I give the player access to the Librarby but not to the rest of the city? _Oh I know_
Someone else made a similar remark on a different comment about this, but it's true for me too: It made me realize how much I missed Undyne doing random shit energy
I'll say that a way he can safely do that voice is to use the same type of thing as kargyraa throat singing. Basically without going into detail, all of the distortion on the voice is coming from stuff that sits above the vocal cords instead of the vocal cords themselves, so it is painless to do and will not hurt your voice. If you know how to do it, it's very easy to do too. (I say this as someone who does know how to do it) The difficulty to figure out how to do it depends on the person though. Some people get it in minutes and others (like me) took months to figure it out.
@@lillian2129 i questioned why they used he. Why do i need to chill? originally i thought this meant susie so i asked, but i realize now; don't enemies not have genders? my statement is still valid here, the person shouldn't have said he.
Am I the only one to notice how susie was so happy to have a own room? And in chapter 1 she didn’t kill kris because they have a good mother? To me it feels like susie has a rough home, and rough parents. no own room, parents are strict. thats probably why she is like that. she can’t handle it to be treated good, that put a little tears in my eyes cuz yk, some people experience this kind of stuff irl.
@@artemis_173 yeah like the fridge in her room had stuff like pinecones, jars of salsa, black crumbs from the toaster, jawbreakers, etc ( i dont remember)
Nope you aren't, and it really can be sad that children have to go through this sometimes I hope they introduce it later in the chapters and maby spread more awareness or help her through it I think that would be nice if they did
I still think “an evil ruler has taken over this world. I don’t really like politics, so I have no opinion on this.” is one of the best lines in this game, it cracks me up
@@mysticalgwsam316 , It's making fun of how there can be something completely wrong going on in a nation, yet you'll still have people who claim to be politically neutral or uninterested in politics, thus they think they can't possibly have strong feelings against the terrible policy or situation.
I also liked when Susie said one day felt like YEARS of waiting. Also, near the end of the video, the save point mentioned "videogame violence" which is kinda funny because some people irl complain about that, but Toby has made two games encouraging the opposite.
i was thinking it means in lancers room (where you press the paintings and it goes 'bleh' and you go in the first painting, then the fourth and then the second one).
I honestly like the new direction Chapter 2 is going. It’s still the same “your choices don’t matter” but it’s creative. It puts the things you chose last chapter into this chapter, but it’s not completely wasting your time. It makes your choices into a reality, but they don’t affect the story. It’s really clever on Toby Fox’s part.
I learned about _one_ change last night that made a lot of players repent. If you drop Ralsei’s manual in front of him (twice) during Chapter 1, he’ll put a garbage can on the nightstand at 29:05… so if he makes any other manuals in the future, you can put them in there. All said without a hint of passive-aggression.
This is the first video of Jack’s that I’ve watched in a very long time. I used to be such a big fan in middle school/early high school and I am now a freshman in college. He did his classic outtro and I literally did all the hand movements and said the words along with him from memory. It made me so happy and punched me right in my nostalgia 😂. I’ll always love you Jack. Thanks for being such an inspiration and a hero to me.
Honestly, the fact that he puts any effort at all in to the voice acting is something we should appreciate. Many playthroughs don't even read the dialog
@@WhatIsMyPorpoise weird, Ross kept popping up in my recommend for garctic phone for the past 2 weeks, same with you or did you find out about him way back before gartic phone?
I just done playing the second chapter, throughout the whole game I try to say the dialog in the characters voice what they sound like in my head anyway But...... Now my mind is blown due to the ending of ch 2 👁️👁️
Toby has stated that he doesn't like how big Undertale got, and the pressure that that put on him. He just wants to make a game that he enjoys making, so please, don't go expecting too much out of the man. If Deltarune is awesome, hey great, but if it's not ground breaking like Undertale was, please don't hold it against him. He's not trying to make the next big hit, he just wants to make Deltarune.
They _do_ matter, but with this game’s the sequential chapter format (and the fact that players can start on Chapter 2 instead of chapter 1), they can’t change the story as drastically as in the option tree that was _UNDERTALE._
My heart cannot take how sweet and dedicated Jack is when he is worried what voices he had on the last chapter of Deltarune. Just the fact that he is playing again and being excited is enough for me. He is amazing doing any voice, but most important he needs to take care of himself. Love Jack and his devotion!
Yeah! It is fun doing voices for characters. I still fo the Smeagle voice from time to time because it is fun or some other voice to make my nieces and nephews laugh, which usually works. However, doing so for 10 minutes is stressful on my voice box (or larynx for medical people who may be reading). So, I'd rather hear and see Sean doing a voice that he is comfortable with instead of one that hurts his throat.
I know this sounds dumb, but I think Ralsei is a Lightner. The fact that he knows about the classroom is sus already, but he even know that was where Kris and Susie returned from the Darkworld from last time. Beside, among the 3 people that entered the Cyberworld (him, Lancer and Rouxls) , Ralsei is the only one didn't get turned into stone.
The fact that Jack explicitly stated that "I've always got to go for titties," only to then _not choose it,_ and miss-out on that line of dialogue, is _peak level irony._
Sean says he can't remember anything from all the games he played through the years, but he still managed to remember Gregg's voice from Night in the Woods to pronounce the word "crimes"
I didn't think Jack doing his classic outro would hit me so hard in the feels. But then it did. It really feels like we are going back to older, more cherished times playing Deltarune. I can't wait to watch the rest of this series.
The voices really is what makes it special. I was doing my homework while watching this so i couldn’t look at the screen 24/7 but it didnt matter cuz the voices you made helped tell the story. Thank you xx
I'd say the soundtrack brings it all together, but the writing and mechanics definitely are a huge part of it. The mechanics are always really well introduced and designed so that they're challenging enough but not too challenging, doesn't hold your hand through stuff, it's all really great
When I played it the moment at 49:00 where the music hits and the view is amazing. That's when I realized that yeah Toby Fox lives in my brain rent free.
jack: if the game gets harder I'm bad at super hard games jack literally 3 seconds later: i defeated sans i did i beat sans i will be good at dodging these attacks jack 8 seconds later: *insert asgore death screen* jack: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-
It didn't happen here, but if you interact with Noelle in Chapter 1 after school and tell her what Susie is like, Noelle will give Susie a lunchbox of chalk before heading to the library. Pretty sweet
I love the attention to detail that Toby goes to in these games. Rewatching the first deltarune chapter shows that at that door in the library, it says "once the game is done, then you can enter" and that's the door that you fall into the dark world in this chapter. I dunno, I just love that he goes to the lengths of making everything line up like that.
Little theory there: Deltarune has no real connection to Undertale because they're separate timelines. Undertale happens when the humans win a war against the monsters and then send them to the underground. Deltarune happens if there was nwver a war in the first place and that's why the same characters can appear in both but have no actual connection in there
@@caspiansovinski I wonder if in a future chapter Asriel will come back, I think would be cool if he also knew too (since he is flowey) heck I wouldn’t put it past Toby if Flowey comes back.
This is my theory as well! Alternatively, the war did happen in Deltrune as well but this time the humans lost and are in the Underworld (hence why there are no humans around), but Kris managed to get to the surface where they were adopted by Toriel. Just like how Chara fell down to the Underworld and was adopted in the same fashion, so the two games mirror each other almost perfectly.
i feel it has a little tho- Like idk maybe the others arent a big thing to it more like side characters. Ofc Sans knows what's up- 4th wall breaker lol. but Asriel still seems to be connected a lot here and other lil goat boy. But seems to still play a big part. Seems there is way more than its leading on a whole lot more but for now its kinda like and adventure play for Kris and Susie.
@I was born in this pain I knew of the magic and didn’t do it because I wanted to play peacefully, that doesn’t make the way that I played right or wrong though
If I remember correctly at the end of the game if you revisit the king *SPOILERS* He has some dialogue with the queen about her being Lancer's new mother.
I feel like Jack took on a lot of responsibility and pride with his dedication to his audience in the past but it’s a strain now. He shouldn’t push himself to do voices or give an explanation for everything he can’t do now. He deserves to unwind and enjoy games that he loves with us.
Back once again for my yearly watch through of Sean's Deltarune playthrough, and I really can't sing enough praises for not only how great Deltarune truly is, but also just how down right amazing Sean's voice acting prowess is! Anyhow, back to watching this series unfold I go.
I’ve fallen asleep in class a few times before. Funnily enough, my science teacher was a lot like Alphys when it happened. I’d pulled an allnighter the night before because of some anxiety and all that personal junk I won’t get into, and when the bell for class rang, she very gently held my shoulder to wake me up. Didn’t even tell either of my parents or my TVI who’s like another parent and just said that she hoped I got good rest. Very sweet lady. At the end of that school year, she even told me I was like a daughter to her, which is weird to think back on now just because of my prefered pronouns, but incredibly sweet and wholesome nonetheless.
I absolutely LOVE your Queen voice in this !! You really have a talent for voice acting jack, can't wait to watch the rest of your Deltarune playthrough :D Also, if you're interested or have the time, it would be neat to see you attempt the 'genocide' route in this chapter. There's some really specific requirements to it though and there's a lot more to it than just 'kill all enemies,' but it's genuinely terrifying and made me love the chapter even more. I don't know whether or not you're already aware of this route, and I know I'm very late to the party on this, but I figured I'd bring it up just incase :]
Jack's unique voices for each character makes watching him so much more entertaining. Chapter 2 of this game is truly one of this year's best highlights.
@@Aereto Undertale is just.. An undyne (undying) game. Its like Deltarune's older brother. Almost as if Asriel and Kris' relationship mirror the two games, where one was shining in starlight, and the other is expected to be just as good, or better, but feelsnit has no chance to be.
52:00 "actually I would be down to do a whole rhythm fighting game like that" MY MAN HAVE I GOT THE GAME FOR YOU EVERHOOD. IT REALLY NEEDS SO MUCH MORE RECOGNITION THAN IT ACTUALLY HAS
Just wanna call it right now, If ralsei is the asriel parallel he's also the flowey parallel and recruiting all the souls is just gathering everyone into one place for the easiest genocide route ever.
Yeah tbh I still don't quite trust Ralsei... he's too sweet, which could just be him being sweet. But it also could be a long con. Like, wouldn't his dad be one of the kings held in that prison? Why does he never seem worried about this? Does his dad suck or something? So confusing/interesting/intriguing. I am not looking anything up... will experience this through Jack's play through
If it's a parallel universe it doesn't mean that he is still undertales version of flowey. He could literally just be a polar opposite to the complete maniacal nature of flowey
*Sean:* Is worried people will be annoyed if he doesn't get the references or messes up the voices. *Me:* Is mostly annoyed he didn't check his inventory after Lancer and Rouxls were added to it.
lancer actually stays in your inventory for quite a while! i checked and he just chills in there and if you press enter you get cartoon splats. super cute honestly
I almost fell asleep in one of my design classes. The lights were off and we were watching a 2 hour video about the font Helvetica. That's the only time I ever came close to falling asleep during class.
Every time I move for college, I have these fairy lights I set up everywhere. It takes some time to do, and it's become a personal strange tradition to watch/listen to Jacksepticye Deltarune Chapter 2 gameplay while I do it. It's comforting somehow.
I’m so excited for chapter three, and I just know that no matter what happens, it’s going to be good, especially the music. Toby Fox puts so much effort into these games, that are FREE, by the way, and you can really tell that everyone who worked on it and has played it really enjoys the game.
Kris could have Obama's voice and Susie could be the turtle from Finding Nemo, and I'd never bat an eye. As long as he can emote properly with the voices, he's good at choosing whatever he wants. I think that was the issue with the Gregg voice in Night in the Woods, because Jack felt like it was good for high-energy dialogue, but was hard to pull off for sad moments.
Berdly reads page 142 and with lore in mind he loves himself and Noelle, and "us" being how he basically got carried by her to the top of the class. 142 = I love us 143 = I love you 143 is presumably connected not to love but to LOVE, referring to how "you" (the player) controls him? idk jack asked what 142 meant there's a theory
for anyone who caught the joke, the computer said "it looks like this game never saw the light of day" referring to the fact that the game was underground, and never was set above ground.
There’s some sus things about Ralsei that I haven’t seen too many people pointing out yet, he knows that the items in the light world bring the settings and people of the dark world to life, he knows about the layout of the school, he can go between dark worlds unlike any other creature from the first chapter, he’s giving both Susie and Kris everything they could want and making comments about them not leaving, but the other dark world creatures from the cyber world don’t seem to know him, despite knowing other characters from chapter 1, and he’s also keeping the other kings still imprisoned
Yeah I was thinking the same thing... makes me wonder if he's secretly the knight that's been mentioned? If he's the prince of the heart kingdom, why is he not bothered that the heart king, presumably his dad, must be one of those imprisoned kings?
I was sort of thinking the same thing, what if Ralsei might actually be just a lightner? He just lives in the dark world for a reason we don't really know yet..
Honestly my theory is he's Asriel. He's supposed to be in College in the light world but we don't see him otherwise. But the cute friendly goat boy act is super sus. He was sus in chapter 1 and even more Sus now knowing everything about the light world, the things in the class and being able to go between world but others can't.
Coming back to rewatch all of these episodes like I'm binge-watching a series of Undertale I only just noticed that Ralsei just knows about the classroom and that all the junk on the floor essentially IS the dark world. Also, peep Kris' eye when they first travel to the dark world.
I am literally so busy this time of year but I made sure to come to this series and will watch it to wind down - Jack's Undertale series is one of my favorite things EVER, and I'm SO happy we get more Deltarune!!! WOOOOO :D
