I love how Berdley's voice progressed more and more into just being Crocker from Fairly Oddparents, and then began mixing in the speech impediment at random, and it all works perfectly.
Npc with a hat: I’ve been on the Queen’s side since day one, there’s no way I’ll become a werewire *Later Jack sees werewire with a hat* “I wonder why he’s wearing a hat”
I had the same thought. Tho it's harder to notice things like that while playing the game, there's so much to concentrate on. Where as we are watching it. Not worried that something might pop up, kill us and set us back half an hour xxx
@@ladypug6958 different people pick up on different things. When I was doing my playthrough I noticed. However unlike Jack I totally missed the eggplant trash bag joke. We all miss some things. Can't Be helpedb
I have been checking details, lore and unused content since launch, i didn't connect the dots with that one Goes to show, NOTHING is accidental in Toby's games Remember the dog with maracas from chapter one? we'll get a reference in this one too, if Jack doesn't miss it
My Kris was KO'd when Susie and Ralsei learned their Actions. This lead to the best ending of the fight in which everyone was dancing... except for an unconscious Kris. It was played 100% straight though, with KO'd Kris being shown during times where they should be dancing. I thought it was scripted and just what was supposed to happen.
@@kittykittybangbang9367 except nobody in the game is actively typing out their dialogue, it's presumably to characterize the way she speaks. Reading Text Like This Kind Of Gives Off A Certain Tone You Know What I Mean Right
I like when someone says ratio, and they actually get more likes, but this one was kinda obvious that a hater on a community that's like, 98% positivity would get less likes
13:38 Ralsei and Susie : _(vibing to the The Charlie Brown dance)_ Kris : _(turns every consumable item in their inventory into 40% Alcohol Pure Russian Vodka)_
Yeah everyone wants him dead before killing him and realizing he never did anything that bad… like, Susie was boutta eat your damn face off. Acting smart and superior is NOT THAT BAD. Worst part is Snowgrave shows he’s clearly a decent guy. He genuinely was trying to protect Noelle from you. Pretty sure he can’t damage her in that fight.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 yep, it’s nice that you get to see some of his real personality show through the act he puts on before you… well, off him sadly haha. He’s not a bad guy, just obnoxious and oblivious. I’m glad he got some proper development this chapter
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 I'm pretty sure everyone knew that he didn't do anything bad, he's just annoying and people are casually joking for the moment. I'm sure if given the option to seriously kill him they won't seriously count his annoyingness as part of a reason to, cause that's really petty
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 he actually can damage her (at least in the normal route, don't know about how it is in snowgrave), there will be dialogue with Noelle saying "WHY ARE YOU HITTING ME", his response being "Don't worry, it's part of my calculations", and after the fight ends she'll say something about him hitting her in the face with a tornado
"Why is there so much stuff laid around to do nothing for me?" I mean...Toby likes NPCs. Fun flavor text. I do feel like the expectation has gone higher from playing other games over the years but you gotta remember this is *Toby* we're playing with. Not all things in this game should be expected to do something.
I also feel like it connects to the first chapter’s theme of “your choices don’t really matter” in which case this one is more like “trying to do extra can often be fruitless”
@@kurimallow Yeah, it's obvious that it's been a while since he's played Undertale or the first chapter of Deltarune. Because I remember him raving on about how great Undertale was, and his example was that you could interact with a wall and there would be fun flavour text about how it's "just a regular wall."
the mother/earthbound games are like this too. there's a lot of npcs everywhere that have no gameplay or story importance and usually say nothing but quirky flavour text but they're all still really fun to talk to!
@@taelim6599 the bouncy sword is an eraser, and if you check your inverntory In the light world the mech sword is a mech pencil which stands for mechanical pencil
That actually makes a lot of sense lol, never thought about that! I suppose the spookysword is a halloween styled pencil and the wooden(?) Blade is a regular wood pencil. Makes me wonder what the TwistedSword might be considering it's a fusion of the thorn ring and a sword (forgot the name) that Kris can also get. Maybe there's an exception to what the item references from the light world when its a fusion? Either way, that's pretty cool to think about so thanks for commenting this.
fun fact: unlike chapter 1, chapter 2 actually has a kind of genocide route. it's arguably darker than the one in undertale, you do some horrible stuff in the route
The fact that Jack missed the joke where the cat with the hat who said he was "On Queen's side, so he's safe" was turned into a Werewire at the end of the room makes me sad.
Jack, beware: Your choices do matter. Somewhat. We've been told that they don't, but there are different routes. While there is only one (?) ending, there are different ways to get there. So be careful!
@@Daltonisntabot The ultimate ending (like the very last scene) is the same in snowgrave, but there are important details that are different that are Major, and really do make it a different ending. Like, for example, the fate of Berdly, and how badly you fuck with Noelle's mind make the overworld different. If you haven't played through it on your own/don't want to, check out the video on it made by 2 Left Thumbs, that goes into every detail of the run and also all of the changes in the overworld.
@@michaelbricky I was actually going to get it on Switch since it's out, but can't decide whether or not to just wait to buy it, since Toby said that chapter 3 and 4 are going to be in the full release, he hasn't said anything about 5 being a chapter we'll have to wait for or anything, but I might since it has plenty you can do to hold you over for the full game.
I like how Suzie gives 0 sht about what a main character is lmao, she takes the decision to do to the dark world learns the main character's special power just because and then proceeds to choose who team ups with who 😂 Sean might be playing Kris but Suzie is living her main character moments and i love it 😂🙏🏻
@@RobinRhombus2 kris is a blank canvas Not exactly gender neutral, not exactly a specific gender Essentially, they are whoever the player wants them to be in the essence of an extension of themselves
@@hellrey2082 Even if you aren't a bot, your channel only has a single video. You said "uploads." Don't trash talk if you don't even know the difference between singular and plural.
Love how everyone's like "Man, I REALLY want to kill Berdly." Imagine if, after Chapter 1 where everyone just ran away after you beat them up, you like, actually just got the chance to kill Berdly, and he never shows up again? It would be quite the laugh!
@@HalfBreadChaos Yeah, guess it is pretty evil to think he'll die. TBH he probably just gets beat up until he loses rather than dieing. Though, hey, I tried Noelle's Freezeshock and it actually freezes overworld enemies, sooo maybe you can just freeze him and he'll be functionally dead up to a certain point lol. that'd be a fun way to have an alternate route!
The artists for the game had every right to make Berdly have the most punchable face ever. The people who made the sprites for the game are really good. They made him so unlikable yet likeable with that smug, shirt-eating grin.
@@unbuiltarcher4646 Please stop. This person has several bot accounts and you (or anyone else) responding is just giving them the attention they desperately crave. They won't leave Jack alone until people stop humoring them.
I think that's supposed to be the NPC character he talks to earlier (they had a hat) that got turned into a peon or whatever the plug slave creatures are called. Kind of dark if you ask me lol
32:49 berdly doesn’t even use correct grammar here, people normally just say that to sound smart. The attention to detail is what made this chapter take so long
@@great_channel He should've said "Noelle & me." When you refer to yourself & someone else, you're supposed to use the same pronoun for yourself that you'd use if it were just you. You wouldn't say "The key to that is I".
@@D_YellowMadness Um, isn't that phrase an exception? I vaguely recall it was pointed out in Westworld to poke fun on that sleazy writer. I'm not a native speaker, so dont quote me on that
This might be me but I like Jacks gameplay a lot because he tends to explore every little bit and hardly misses out on a lot of tiny and often funny details.
@Mia - Sᴇx Cʜᴀɴɴᴇʟ 18+🅥 ik this is some shitty bot spam account, but i wanna say that out of all the voices he gave the characters, berdley's voice is my most favorite one. It legit fits his character somehow.
@@FellStar10 yeah, Neo is optional, and I'm pretty sure you can only get it by agreeing to The Deal at the end; I'm still on my first playthrough, but it really seems to me that would be the case: "Choices don't matter" indeed. XP
jack, if you ever think about doing the alternate “genocide” route (also called the snowgrave route), please look up a tutorial/guide, and be careful not to get spoiled too much! if you don’t want to do it yourself, i recommend watching a video of it because it’s quite disturbing and unsettling…
It would be really interesting to see both routes when he finishes the game completely if its not too draining for him. If its as drastic of a change as you say, I bet he'll love it
@@Marigold11037 unlike ch 1, there is a huge difference. tbh it completely changed my perspective of deltarune! there are very specific actions you need to do to get it, so search up “snowgrave route” if you want to learn more. i feel like doing it will drastically change the story or at least certain character interactions going forward. basically, we see a different side to kris, major events happen with noelle and berdly, and the final boss changes!
@@kyleblake7522 it's not necessarily from tf2. I've seen dances done like that a lot before tf2 came out. I can't remember the name of the dance move, though.
Hello Earthbound fan! Your games are now available for the switch so I tried to play one and I just have to ask, how the hell do you stay alive when you can’t do anything to avoid damage and have a very limited supply of healing items?!
Sean just so you know there is a genocide route known as the "snowgrave route" where the story does change drastically so if you feel like it I would highly recommend it, as to me it was more disturbing than undertale genocide route, with character deaths being more dramatic and killing everyone feeling so much more horrible. Also just don't go killing anything this route that way you can experience the best of the story as fighting enemies will cut down the story and you won't get as many interactions and it just ends up being more bland and boring, unless you go FULL genocide!
I seriously hope it's not gonna take 3 years for every chapter😭 I understand that developping games is extremely difficult, especially for indie game devs, but I just don't want to wait 15 years for all the chapters combined😭
Chapter 3 will probably come out sooner (except if Toby wants to release all the chapters at the same time) , Toby was hurt while making chapter 2 and that's why it took longer
I just realized that the trio mimicked the Charlie Brown Christmas dance moves. Oh the nostalgia!! Edit: I learned that it was in fact just Ralsei and Susie doing the CB moves, Kris was doing something different. Thank you whoever corrected me!
When I played through this chapter, I didn't know you could stop the cars so I spent an hour going through the first road with cars. I managed to do it, but God it would've been easier if I realised I could've just pressed a button and walked across the road
That may be true. I think the reason everyone was so blown away by the humor in undertale is because it was unexpected. Not to say it’s not just hilarious, but I feel like Toby was able to flesh out more topics and joke about them in Deltarune
Oh...my..god!!! I LOVE your little added script lines for the characters...it’s like you really KNOW them!! Spot fucking on man!! Watching this series makes me want to go back and rewatch the series with the kitty solving mysteries in that town...used to remember what it was called, but your voices in that really made it a memorable play through. Definitely next when I catch up on DeltaRune!!!
"This looks like the way forward...I'm gonna go back to explore more!" Hearing that just just made me relax and smile. Also, it feels so good watching Jack do a Let's Play again!
43:49 - 43:52; I've never laughed so hard at this kinda joke in my entire life. It's such a common gag but it's something about the world of Deltarune that makes me laugh a lil harder. Also Noelle's feckin face! 😆😆😆
I'm almost impressed that Jack didn't figure out that K_K wasn't an expression, but the dude's name. He seemed to get it at the end of the battle, only to immediately go back to skipping the name in dialogue.
