What really separates the 96 bulls to all other teams in NBA history for me is the fact that they had 3 first team all defense players at the same time. The numbers might not have reflected it, but when they decided to clamp down It was almost comical how low they could keep opposing teams to.

Only because they never played an all time offense because it was arguably the worst offense era ever. I still believe they were the greatest defense team ever but also no team was gonna clamp teams like the 2017 warriors 86 Celtics 87 lakers 01 lakers etc.

Probably because in the regular season they were famous for not trying too hard so all their regular season stats were bad in comparison to other championship teams

Great video(s). Always great when someone backs up their logic with something of substance. My personal opinion only, but 1) I'm not sure why/how you could have the 2000 and 2002 Lakers but not the 2001 team. That is the best playoff record ever. 16-1 and that one loss in OT. Not just that, but the 2002 team shouldn't be on the list as, we all can see it was a . . . . questionable championship, if you know you know. 2) I would place the `86 Celtics in that top tier as well. Just me, but if I were to pick a team that could go to any other time and find a way to win a championship, the `86 Celtics and the `96 Bulls are the only choices. The `17 Warriors are great, and deserve to be in the top tier, but even they would have a tough time in the late 60's through the mid 80's due to rule changes, style of play and so on.

@@eddiebuckets7688 The two teams are worlds apart ...... If the 2017 Warriors played the 1996 Bulls, they'd probably lose 9 times out of 10 ...... The only reason they'd win that one game, is because most of the Bulls team are now in their late 50s and haven't played for 20 years.

⁠⁠@@user-vl7di3xr2udude the 2017 Warriors would smoke the 1996 Bulls in a 7 game series, let’s get that out of the way, the modern basketball strategies are much more effective than 90s schemes, the Warriors would sweep the Bulls with a 15+ margin of victory Second of all, the Warriors won 67 games despite Durant missing 20 games, and they swept everyone in the tough west. It took LeBron having a 30 pt triple double and Kyrie having a 40 piece in the same game, for the Warriors to lose 1 game in the playoffs

I don`t get why the 2016 cavs are tier 5 they should be higher on since they came back from a 3-1 comeback witch no other team has done and plus the 2015 warriors are worser then they were from 2016 and in 2015 the cavs toke the warriors to 6 games with LeBron and support case player and both kyrie and Kevin love where both out with injury .... so, this doesn't make sense.

There playoff comeback was legendary, but everything else is tier 5. The 2015 Warriors were still a ridiculously good team despite catching a break in the finals

No reason to put at the top, a big less 96 bulls whose best comp was the 2 hof squad Utah jazz in a league where wrist carrying backdown punishment etc… are all legal when there’s teams like showtime lakers, 72 lakers, dynasty Russell celtics, moses 76ers, bird Celtics, 73 Knicks etc… with far more hof comp, and all around defending rebounding Playmaking n scoring combined players on them and to contend with Same thing with the warriors whom are all offense no rebounding or defense compared to the true goat teams accumulating their stats and records in an era with even far more allowance of what would be turnovers back in the day with far less physical and impactful defense, spacing n over abundance of 3pt shooting n competition that falls victim to the Same none of which was stacked much with hofs All teams the 96 bulls have no answers for One day we will wake up from the recency bias n marketing and separate what we came to love as our favorite vs reality of what’s better than what

I agree that different eras are completely different and the 96 bulls had inflated stats because the rest of the nba was objectively not that good. In your opinion what are the best teams ever then?

@@mattsell2361 i wouldn’t call the competition not that good but rather call it inferior or not that good only when compared to the goat teams of the 60s70s n 80s. And def not just cuz of the comp but also cuz of easier rules basketball and rim making it even easier to dominate if all teams suffer from the same abundance of luxuries And this regular season record BS must stop. 50/60 win teams in one era will never guarantee a win in another era that had more hof comp harder rules etc… especially. The 73-9 warriors ain’t better than the 2017 60 plus win warriors whom aren’t better than the 50 plus win showtime lakers whom aren’t better than the 48 win bill Russell Celtics etc…. Also More star players have beaten teams whom outnumber their own by multiple hall of famers than they have beaten 50/60 win teams with multiple more reg season wins than they have. Easy to look up

Not even including the 2012 heat when DWade was still at prime levels is patently absurd... And how in the WORLD are the 2008 celtics not only better but on a whole different tier than the Lakers with a prime Shaq and Kobe in 2002 who had just 3-peated? Please make that make sense to me... Did the celtics 3 peat? You do realize that both Shaq and Kobe in 2002 were much better than everyone on the Celtics in 2008...

In 86 Jordan did something that put the league on notice when he dropped 63 against the Celtics. That was when they were healthy. His team got swept, no shame. In 87 McHale had a broken bone in his foot, Walton only played 10 games as opposed to 82 the prior year. Danny Ainge had a knee injury and still the bulls got swept. 0-6.

You’re mistaking the 2016 and 2017 warriors. They had 73-9 in 2016 and lost the finals. They had 67-15 in 2017 and won the finals while sweeping the west.
