I'd forgotten HOW MUCH FUN this was! | RF2 LFM BTCC at Oulton Park 

Any other things I should know about the BTCC cars as a total beginner to rF2? Is there launch control, or any launch tips? Is there DRS or any other quirks?

@@AdrenaLukeYT If you are playing them on LFM you are allowed to race with the cars from different years, 2021-2023. The 2021 cars didn't have the Hybrid P2P system but they are lighter. People say on longer tracks they can have the advantage due to the weight. You could start out with those and move to the later cars to play with the hybrid. If you are new to BTCC in general they race with both RWD and FWD cars so you have the strengths and weaknesses of those competing. Generally the BMW is quite a strong car and pretty good in the slow corners. But there were recent balance changes to make the FWD cars more competitive and the field is more even now so drive what you want really. Tyre wear is important in this game and you will feel it towards the end of the race and it is more important in the FWD cars as their front tyre's will generally be worse off than the RWD cars. There is no launch control or DRS in these cars and I'm not the best at launches but you can play about and practise.

​@@Tudkno Yep, I start always with the 2021 models and only try the p2p versions if the track is such that it might benefit from it. I'm usually slower on those p2p, you need to use it quite optimally to get the same times with the added weight (which you can feel in the car behavior).

I think it's 120kph minimum (and 3rd gear like you said). Also if you try to use when not allowed (not enough speed etc.) it doesn't let you try in 5s. Very important to know.

@@gfoyle6571 Yeh that is correct, I would say the best way to know is to look at your dash, when you see the blue light that means it can be activated. That way you don't have to start counting in your head and accidentally press it too early and get penalised like you said.

I would recommend you to check /change the USB port to which you have the wheelbase connected as there could be a lack of "bandwidth". rF2 has the highest physics refresh frequency (by far) and, therefore, so is the FFB output. This means that if the connection suffers any loss of signal, it could be the reason why you are experiencing issues. Cable routing AWAY from power supplies is also important. Also, bind a key for "FFB reset" and NEVER restart a race from the car (while on track) and always go back to the pits and, just to be safe, every time that you leave the pits, hit that FFB reset key. It should be mentioned that, unfortunately, Fanatec has very poor software and lags behind the majority of the current wheel base offerings and typically are the wheelbases which have more issues with rF2. NONETHELESS, I never had any issues with my CSL Elite (from which I moved on to a MozaR9), never having to do anything of the above checks and solutions. SO, I highly recommend you to check your USB ports/connections and your cable routing. Finally: if you have not joined the Studio 397 Discord, you should definitely do it as there are plenty of knowledgeable users there who will be happy to give you a hand.

Thank you mate. Iracing can't be beaten for just jumping in and being able to race. The btcc stuff on rf2 is awesome and with LFM it gives you the iracing ranking etc. Well worth a look 👍

If I were buying I'd choose the forte over the Invicta. The extra power and response time isn't worth the extra cost for me. 👍 You'll notice a huge difference moving to the forte from the CSL DD 😁
