But you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they don't have a narcissist as a spouse cuz I am a Christian and I have learned very well about narcissist. They are the epitome of evil

I understand this completely! I don't think this person is asking this thinking that everything should be perfect in order to like them. They could be unequally yoked and the Christian spouse is doing the Godly, Biblical thing by loving them as themselves but they don't like them because maybe their spouse has no integrity in their life. Or the spouse just isn't a nice person. I have had this dynamic in my own life and I totally get this! I love my husband beyond my own emotions but I don't like him because of the way he treats me and others. This very much can happen and is a real thing! People are and can be a narcissist or have the tendency of of those behaviors. And I can first hand say that the "heaping the hot coals" or "love them and without saying a word and they will turn to the Lord" does not work when dealing with this type of person. This isn't an arrogant question or something that this person has to examine if they are dealing with this type of person. I've pulled out all the stops, used every trick, and my husband still struggles with treating me right.

I'm with you. I don't see arrogance there at all. As I stated in my comment, it's hard to like someone who isn't nice or who is neglectful. Bless you in your struggle.

I was disappointed to hear condemnation toward the party in question. I think it's wrong to label someone as arrogant if they are having a hard time liking their spouse, if they are committed to loving them. It would be hard to like a spouse who is neglectful, withdrawn, or mean. I generally like this podcast, but those comments about arrogance seemed judgy.
