Man, that game one has been a perfect representation of my experience drafting this past week or so. Opponents just having the most insane decks they realistically shouldn't be able to draft this late into the format.

@@haumph And the biggest joke is I once even got the privilege of getting 3 crabominations but even then got pretty unlucky and only ended up at 3-3. I was disappointed beyond belief.

Pack 3, Pick 5.. Not sure if you didnt see the Culler.. But I believe its a better picked that the larva

I think seeing that Genku get passed to you, it would have been worth expecting that Estrid's Invocation to table. Those two are incredible together. Ajani Fells, Static Prison and Dog Umbra are also good to flicker. Perhaps there's a world where you can splash Scurry of Gremlins which is also a lock with an Estrid's. It ups your Rosecot Knights too. In conclusion, I think E's Invocation is a fun build-around unlike any other.

I didn't even realize Estrid's Invocation was a playable card. I think I dismissed it as bad and I legitimately don't know what it does hah! Also I should have been UW 100%

Have you seen Sam Black's video on the Drafting Archetypes channel about Jund tokens? It uses a blend of tokens, graveyard interactions, and burn effects (molten gatekeeper, marionette's apprentice) to grind out your opponents. It seemed open-ish in this draft. The one time the archetype was open for me, I cracked two Wights and had a blast.

Something minor that my roommate and I discovered on our journey to mythic, when in any black deck that uses or splashes red, it's worth keeping an eye out for infernal captors late. They can usually be free-rolled and since black has a decent amount of sacrifice synergy, you can accidentally get crazy tempo blowouts in the late-game. For example, 10:54 I agree with Paul's pick but the captor was worth considering since you are already splashing red and already are running lethal throw-down. Also, you are considering running spawn gang commander and it can sac large Eldrazi that you steal from your opponent in the mirror, which is usually enough to close out a game on the spot.

Yes. I played B/R with three captors. Attacked with their creatur, no blocks because they hope to get it back and then sac it with the draw spell, throwdown, victimize or the three mana artifact to put counters on it. I had so much fun😂😂

I had two amazing Primal prayers deck. green/blue and temur 3 drops for no mana at instant speed played out very well. I am surprised no one considers it even playable.

10:02 any consideration for the eviscerator’s insight? I’ve had it be very good in BRG decks that can create a decent amount of spawn tokens

Yeah definitely something to consider. I like it a lot more in U/B of course but with enough token makers, I can see it being a nice way to keep the cards flowing.

I think I prefer sentry to witness, sentry has overpreformed in my experience and always provides at least a little value. Attacks as a 4/5 menace pretty often! edit: i’m in awe of the ral game
