It's worth noting that while florescence won't kill most ppl who drink it, it is actually possible to have an allergic reaction to it. So I wouldn't recommend going around drinking it.

Yeah I don't get people who don't like long videos. Personally, if I like a channel, especially as much as I like this one, it's just a tease if they cut a bunch out to keep it a few minutes long. And I don't even feel like a 2 or 3 minute video is worth watching, particularly since I don't block ads. It's great that this channel at least gives people the option to skip to the good stuff while still keeping a decent runtime.

Hey Dayton, .....I just want to remind you how awesome you are because I was thinking of you just now and I started laughing because I was remembering about your last video that you made, and I just started laughing and then I realized that you really are a great videographer to have that effect happen to people weeks and weeks later. So I think that is a testament to how good your videos are. Dayton, if you don't understand what I just texted the gist of it was that you have a lasting effect of funniness and humor on people that last long after the video is over, and that is what I wanted to convey to you that's all.

The waterfall makes a good agitator. Submersible uv lights at night could look good. Or maybe a fine mister on the back of a car with a rear facing uv light, to make funky trails as you speed away. Cool stuff!

I realize I'm coming to this video late, but catching up on ones I've missed. How do you know which tracer dyes are actually fluorescein? As I've seen some different types and getting the SDS are sometimes hard and even if you do, they can put 'trade secret' on them as the ingredients. I found that bottle on Amazon, but when trying to find the companies website, the one on the bottle takes you to another company and the product isn't listed at all on theirs. Love the content!

It’s hard to know for sure; mine said on the container though. But many dyes are now made from vegetables... somehow. (Don’t ask how, I have no idea)

@@BlueprintScience wow, fast reply! Odd, the pictures of front and back on Amazon don't list any ingredients, but the front is identical to yours. Where did you get yours? You said hardware store, but neither of the big box stores seems to carry tracing dye.

@Justin Banks It was a local hardware.store (called True Value Hardware), not a big box store. We got a green and a pink dye. The chemical grade fluorescein I purchased from eBay.

I was LITERALLY looking into this right before halloween. I was thinking about dressing up as a 'mad scientist' and walking around with a flask all night, taping some UV LEDs to the sides of the flask (with a button cell or something), and exclusively drinking out of that flask all night, and dropping some flourescent dye into it when I fill it up. I was considering crished up B vitamins / riboflavin, tonic water, and flourescein but I wasnt too sure about giving myself liver failure lol.

That river actually flows into a lake that is already an EPA disaster zone (industrial disposal of copper from early 1900s). No fish live there... or algae... or people...

I hope that drinking a cup of fluorescein at the beginning of the clip was actually done after your trip experience. At least that way you might have found wherein you, it leaks!!!

Sam Sen Yea, the trip was in early October, the indoor footage was late October. Anyway, no leaks detected! I think I’m good :)
