I was at the live stream! I'm pretty new to Dax, but he really is an incredible artist. I feel he is helping a lot of people with songs like this. Carlie, Congratulations on managing your depression. I have the impression that this song trivializes the struggle that some endure. Everybody must find a path that works for them. The medications did not work for me. Faith makes it bearable. Every day can bring new triggers that may or may not be compounded by tomorrow. Again. thank you for the intriguing content and the thoughtful and well considered commentary.

My take from this video is he's inside his own head trying to escape the depression, but everything inside is trying to keep him there before he finally finds the exit to break/rip out of it.

I got off the pills when I honestly told my wife that I thought I remembered loving her but couldn’t remember. Within 3 weeks my emotions started coming back. Years lost to that crap.

Re: meds For mild to moderate depression, exercise/diet is about as effective as meds. For worse, meds become necessary (increasing suicide risk, etc). You likely got the zombie thing because it was to high a dosage (had that one) and/or it was the wrong med. Odd thing is, even in the same class one could do exactly nothing, another only side-effects and another doing what it's supposed to do. There isn't much of a rhyme or reason to it. The brain is ill understood. But, yeah. The zombie thing isn't supposed to happen. I did read something else that was some good advice. No matter what, you should do some therapy. The reason being that your fucked up brain has had you living a fucked up life. Therapy will help you live a not so fucked up life. Of course, YMMV.
