Can the electrics in an EV be reversed to siphon off power to a almost empty battery in an EV parked next to it? To the point that both batteries detect balanced cells, equal state of charge.

Last week I bought an almost new 2023 TRD Sport. Thought the car so weird. Terrible transmission, hesitant acceleration. Decided to test drive the 2024 just to evaluate if I was the crazy one. At the same day I traded in the 2023 and bought the 2024. I heard people get used to that crazy gear. Not for me!!

@@jpg1789 Good choice, I got the TRD off-road. It's a beast. I test drove a ranger as well and the ranger does not have the low end torque like the Tacoma did. To me that matters a lot more for daily driving.

@@driftx2 exactly. I’m a light footed driver. I like to drive with a very fine tuned acceleration and would never change that just because the 3rd generation asks to accelerate more to get the response of the car. I’m still in disbelief about that. Driving a bridge just a little steeper forced me to accelerate in a totally disproportional way. Whereas the 2024 drives like all the automatic cars I’ve driven.

12,000 kms on mine and love it so far, I am also not a maniac so it lives in ECO mode. Avg about 9 litres/100kms but have achieved 6.7. Also pulled my 4600 lb boat more easily than my 2022 with the 3.5 v6 6spd man.

@@gdholmfirth He likes Toyota, but Scotty's dislike of Turbos out weighs all. Scotty has often expressed disdain for Toyota going all Turbo, they only have one naturally aspirated engine left and that is in the current gen RAV4. Which I believe is about to be phased out and likely replaced with a turbo or hybrids.

Will Scotty to a video on the recall of the new tundra and the new luxus gx where Toyota left metal shavings in the engine. Quality control has been slipping over the years with Toyota Lexus. And Yes I have a 2010 tundra with 250k that Scotty reviews in RI and two Rx 350s.

Scotty's enthusiasm and excitement for Toyota never fades. Was he really into those seat covers, or what? That old truck seems nice. BMW is by far the worst flashy car brand. Repairs cost a fortune. Never again.

@@Vincent-ke5zn Exactly, btw/ owned a X5, fast, crap motor fell apart @ 100K it burned 1 qt oil per tank. 328Xi, fun, handles like it had rails, non stop repairs. They put the starter behind the plastic intake manifold. Fuses under the dash. Battery in trunk, changed it 5 times. HORRIBLE BMW's

Nothing beats the stick shift or manual transmission vehicles, the connection and control one gets driving those cars is simply awesome They need to bring them back with naturally aspirated engines only, back to basics is all some of us are asking for

@@ravenmoto5948 I've had three Cummins Dodges and one Ford 7.3 Navistar IDI with stick shifts. It makes a huge difference, especially when towing.

My 2022 TRD 4wd Off-Road with MT was a special order made by a customer that did not qualify for financing when it finally arrived at the dealership. Great for pulling a small utility camper thru the mountains. Having a MT again brings back the joy of driving for me - but maybe not for most.

Hi Scotty i had a Nissan frontier 2012 with 349000 mile with no oil leak 6 speed manual beside magnum one Cam Shaft sensor went out driver side window not work i traded it for a Tacoma now 2.7 liter ❤❤❤❤❤love it by listen to your advice

you are correct on the bmw not being an everyday driver. have a 2001 bmw z3 coupe. only bring it out on the weekends. but...what a blast to drive😊

If I could afford buying any newer vehicle, that's what I'd like to get! Anything with a full frame, a V6, 4WD and a standard transmission would be OK. I don't see many other options... My daily driver has these features but mine is over 30 years old now...

I have a modern stick vehicle and traffic doesn't bother me at all. Also, not sure the newer Taco sticks have this but my manual transmission has hill assist where the brake calipers automatically press on the rotors if it senses the car is in an incline position so getting out of first is complete breeze.

Not using 4x4 still run it in 4 HI for about 10 minutes ever so often turn it on and off so the solenoid doesn’t get stuck. Same with 4 LO just drive a couple of minutes so everything stays lubricated. Try not to make sharp turns on pavement.

I bought a brand new 2016 Tacoma, the transmission was a pile of junk, once I thought the entire thing dropped out of the vehicle coming to a stop at a light, the clunk into 2nd gear was so harsh, I took it back to the dealer they found no issues, kept it for one year then traded it on a new 4Runner. So Toyota does not always mean quality and dependability. Come to find out later that the 2016 and 2017 Tacomas had issues with transmissions....

I change oil and coolant in my 24 year old Tahoe MAYBE every 5k miles. It’s a metal truck, not a fragile butterfly wing.

Just say no to turbos in trucks and SUV’s. They’re supposed to dependable utilitarian vehicles, not race vehicles. If you want to go fast, grow a pair and get a superbike or supercar.

If you really have the gumption one can ride our Thoroughbreds that attain 40.9 mph for at least 3/8 mile! No seat belts or air bags. Speed control has a mind of its own at times! Yes, we let our racing license expire 20 years ago.

The last year, the 3 gen Toyota tacoma 23s they only made less than 3% m/t was made less than 9500 was built it’s hard to find a m/t in a 3 gen tacoma last year of production

A manual transmission is the only way to go with 4X4. You can control your descent better with gears and no brakes. My 2017 is up to 112,000 miles and runs fine. Only brakes, tires and oil changes but I live in very hilly terrain.

Fun fact: Toyota did not offer a long bed, double cab with a manual. You can get the 6ft bed in the double cab but only with an automatic. Some day I hope to swap my manual tranny into a long bed Tacoma.

Main bearing assembly is the weak link. Forced induction pulls main bearing girdle assembly apart. Don't buy a 24. They are all junk.

On lower trims, Toyota's have basic sound system, so you would have to upgrade to the plus or premium system to get the better system. Also, Toyota was late in the game with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and unfortunately don't offer an upgrade as Mazda did on 2014-2019 models

My first brake job on my '12 Tacoma was at 93K miles!...just the front, the rear brakes still had plenty of shoe left...2012 Tacoma, 2.7 with 5 spd manual, 4WD, and regular cab. Sadly this beloved truck was totalled when a carload of illegals made a left on a red at 40mph! I really miss that truck.

I put the PU leather seat covers on right away. I have cloth seats, so you can clean spills up right away. I don't bring any beverages in the car with me anymore, because my "commuting time" is over.....😃

Up to 2023 the toyota tacoma had the v6 engine which had been refined and upgraded over many years -----awesome engine. Then Toyota decided to drop the v6 and went to the four cylinder turbo charged engine ------for so many reasons an inferior engine -----huge mistake ---dumb idea !!

98,000 Toyota tacomas was recalled 3 days ago. The motors are failing with less than 7,500 miles. The resale value has crashed there are over a thousand Toyota trucks for sale with factory warranty still remaining people are trying to unload them before the warranties run out because of the massive engine failures.

There was an incident in the news a while back about the same thing…. A little old lady was was driving a car with a standard transmission when some punks tried to steal her car. When the punks realized that the car had a manual transmission, they scattered like rabbits! So a manual transmission is a great anti theft device!

Help!! Looking to buy a used 2022 Ram 1500 pickup with 5.7 Hemi etorque with 22k miles. I am aware of the “hemi tick” issue (thanks to your videos) and the concern around idling too much. I asked the sales person to send me a video of the engine hours detail on the dash. It reads 697 total hours and a 609 / 88, drive / idle split. So roughly 13% of the engine run time has been idling. Is this a concern or a “good buy” based on this factor alone? Thanks so much!!!!!

Buy pre-owned prior to 2024, stay away from 6 cyl. with turbo. Problems waiting to happen!

Scotty..93K on my 2014 4.0 V6 taco access truck...its a keeper so besides changing transfer case oil what else i s must do items now....Belts? Brake fluid flush? Coolant flush? Your advise is appreciated..TY.

Check belts. Can't hurt to do a brake fluid bleed. Also check spark plugs! And refer to your owners manual and look at the recommended services at the 100k.
