Resolve and Maya only officially support RHEL distros, so I'd recommend AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux they aren't the best desktop distros, but for pro apps like Maya and Resolve, it's what you are going to want to use.

@@PizzaLovingNerd IDK man, RPM based distros seems that in terms of software, they don't have a lot of open source and some precompiled things that the magicians in the repositories do; I have used CentOS 7 before and made me feel that I was limited by all outated and not available software. I had to compile a lot of things in CentOS and in Alma Linux I feel that is going to do the same. Some Arch distros (I have tried several) have a lot of packages, but some of them get broken with updates. Ubuntu gets broken with updates too, and also get slow with the use. . . and I know you don't like Manjaro, but I haven't found anything as stable, snappy, and you need to know this: Maya is there (tweaked in the repos by users) unnoficially, but it's there, even Davinci Resolve. Manjaro never gets broken with updates, and because some apps, I need closed nvidia drivers (Cuda). That is a must for my workflow. Do you use a distro that is not Ubuntu based that has all the magic of and the AUR repos or something as fancy as that? (sips cup of coffee)

Aside from Fedora, RHEL-like distros aren't that great for desktop usage, but for Resolve and Maya, they are only supported on RHEL like distros officially. There may be community patches or workarounds to get them working on other distros, but for those two apps specifically, RHEL-like is what you want. For a desktop use case I'd recommend just installing the base distro, setting up Rocky or Alma, setting up Resolve and Maya, and than using every other app from Flathub so you get the latest version. If you don't care about those two apps, I really like Fedora and it has Copr which is like a mix of PPAs and the AUR. You can also try my new distro (risiOS) for an easier Fedora experience with easy NVIDIA and Driver setup

@@PizzaLovingNerd Thanks, I'm going to take a look, I always apply patches and install libs that the software is calling to launch. Not a great experience with fedora. It's insteresting that it doesn't exactly has to be supported by RHEL. it's linux, just installing the libs the app is looking for . . . And It works, not matter what distro is honestly. Maya is a great app, I need it sometimes. I'm more used to use blender these days . . . I just wonder if there is a good balance between low ram usage, repo way of install closed drivers and to work . . . fancy desktops are cool, but honestly when I have to do render or bake textures I just need all the ram my PC has, so, I always come back to LXDE or Openbox, so use all resources available for demanding processes in RAM, GPU and CPU that's like my goal hahaha

Just use Garuda Dragonized they have free themes that will make Linux look ALMOST like Windows 11 so you can be familiar installing the sweet icon pack can give you an Arch Linux experience even more and it looks just so damn futuristic.
