I purchased a JB4 for the Veloster N. Little secret is that the JB4 has actually been installed on my car before I started making youtube videos. I have had a good amount of time to test it out and it has been a lot of fun!
Just installed my JB4 recently on my VN, the rainbow wire on the low connection and the brown on the manifold connection definitely seems correct. The boost profile is quite a lot more aggressive over stock. The turbo ramps into full boost significantly more aggressively, is the biggest difference you’ll see on maps 1/2 on a stock car and 93/93 elevation equivalent.
I usually don't care if someone has this installed, and comes to dealer for service. I do however hate it when what they are using is causing issues and the owner is in denial about it🙃 😂😂
Should have just gotten a ECU tune from SXTH Element or LAP3. Piggy backs are good but not as fast as a ECU tuned by those tuners. Btw just buy cooler heat ranged NGK iridium plugs. Because, it’s basically the same as the HKS plugs.
Piggy back is way better for warranty preservation though. Chip tunes aren’t fast enough compared to piggy back to justify the headache of core fees, downtime, etc. I’d say for the majority of people, JB4 or an equivalent is the better option all around. Simple, fast, warranty and affordable.
You shouldn't use the mods without dealers installing it for you bud.. they need to tune the car so the data loggs do not outta limit void your warranty.. better hope you do not break something or a recall happens cause they "will" void your warranty on that engine just because they didn't make the $ off of doing it for you... ASE certified and KIA Certified bud you can have have it your way if you pay..
The dealership will laugh in your face if you show up with a jb4 and ask them to install it. In no world would a hyundai dealership willingly install an ecu piggyback tuner for you.
Depends on the dealer. The ones around me don’t give af about it they honor the warranty unless it’s something crazy you did that directly caused the problem
I’m surprised no big and reputable tuning firm has collaborated with Hyundai to make an official dealer approved and warranty valid tune like Ford did with tuners Mountune on the Fiesta ST and Focus ST/RS.
These are all good and all until your sensors start to fail, O2 Sensor goes bad, Accelerates the Carbon Buildup on these engines and blows a couple of solenoids.
I think it gained around 30-40 whp on 93oct.. not positive how much my car specifically gained but when I ran e30 on map 5 which is race fuel tune it was WAY faster than stock.. probably closer to 40-50whp gain on e30 tune maybe more. Never got a dyno though.
