Hello Rob, I sure can also hear the difference between the Mohr and the JonPaul. Thank you for linking to my video. And yes, you should definitely check out some of my babies, for example a T7 (which might be in a similar price bracket as the Mohr). I would expect the step up from the Mohr in terms of sound to be about twice the step between the JonPaul and the Mohr, if you know what I mean. To match the Mohr a T4 or T5 should suffice. But then, telling from your playing, maybe an octagonal P-bows might suit you and your fiddle really nicely.

Thanks, Bernd! I'm on the road now, but looking at the list of Arcus dealers I think Johnson Strings in MA is my closest bet. I've been meaning to get out there for a while now, so perhaps next time I'm heading that way I'll give these a try!

I'm brand new and just started shopping violins. I thought the John Paul sounded the best to my green ears. Any recommendations of violins I should try I have about 1000.00 budget. Looking at an Eastman next weekend but taking my time to find a really goid one
