You'll Never Walk Alone by Righteous brothers

You'll enjoy "You'll Never Walk Alone" on the Ed Sullivan Variety Hour TV show. If you were invited to do a live performance on his prime time show it was an honor and could make you or break you. The Righteous Brothers as always came through with their amazing voices. Old soul young'ns like you make me smile as you will be right there listening & absorbing the stories, music & wisdom of what your grandparents, parents, aunts/uncles and their friends will tell you about. You then end up passing it on to the next generation. That's how we stand on the shoulders of those that came before us. Great reaction.

OMG these guys were awesome when they came out in 1964. I was in high school, so I'm dating myself. We fell in love their voices. You need to listen to more of their great songs. I have all of their vinyl records in my record collections. Their voices were awesome!!!♥️♥️♥️

Jasmine, the greatest baritone in rock history is Bill Medley. My older sister would just swoon over his voice. Listen to the Carol King written song that the Righteous Brothers did called JUST ONCE IN MY LIFE. It's a real showpiece for Bills beautiful deep voice. Love that a young person can appreciate the greatness of them. When music was music.
@Aurora-tp3dy
@Aurora-tp3dy Год назад
It does showcase Bill because it was the time when Phil Spector was trying to break them up. He wanted Bill to drop Bobby and go solo, with him producing Bill. They did break up a few years later; guess Spector did put the solo bug in Bill's ear. But, at that time, they decided to leave Spector's record label (after less than 2 years with him) and signed with Verve Records. There first record there was Soul and Inspiration.
@dsgp7835
@dsgp7835 Год назад
@@Aurora-tp3dy Thanks for that info. I'll make many Righteous Brothers fans angry by saying this but in my opinion Bill Medley was the star of the duo. His voice was one of a kind and easily identifiable. Don't get me wrong, I love Bobby Hatfields voice but there were plenty of tenors who could of played that part.
@Aurora-tp3dy
@Aurora-tp3dy Год назад
@@dsgp7835 Not angry, but totally disagree about Bobby. His voice is not mistaken for anyone else. Any random tenor can't replace him. It's not just his range (countertenor which is rare), but the timbre of his voice and his ability to express the appropriate emotion for each song. Then, there's Bobby's ability to sing close harmony. An ability Bill said of himself he couldn't do with a shotgun. Without Bobby there is no Righteous Brothers.
@dsgp7835
@dsgp7835 Год назад
@@Aurora-tp3dy First of all, aren't we lucky to have had their music in our lives. With all the great music in the sixties and seventies that was the soundtrack to growing up, the Righteous Brothers were right there serending a generation. I agree Bobby sang with a smooth silky sound but the dominant voice was that of Bill Medley. A face chiseled from granite and a tone to match, you knew it was him at the very first utterance of a note. Of the voices in rock history there is the one and only Bill Medley.

This song is one that has such meaning to me. I married the girl I always wanted to sing this too if I had a voice like these guys. 45 years since I married her and these words still hold the same meaning. My life has been made so much richer because of her. I'd still be singing these words to my beautiful bride. The song is timeless.

Hi Jasmine, I absolutely loved your reaction to this track & keep up the good work!!! Also please keep on reacting to them because The Righteous Brothers are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and there is now doubt in my mind that they have "G.O.A.T. STATUS!!!" Mic-Drop!!! 🎤

The early songs by The Righteous Brothers were released when I was in elementary school (near 70 years old now). We used to listen to to all their music on the AM radio back in the day. Bill Medley (the tall one) sings in a bass-baritone voice, while Bobby Hatfield sings in a tenor-countertenor voice. Bobby Hatfield died in 2003 hours before a concert while on tour with Bill Medley. Bill Medley regrouped The Righteous Brothers in 2016, and he is still touring at 83 years old with Bucky Heard who stands in for Bobby Hatfield.

Great reaction - This is a vocally perfect, lyrical and instrumental masterpiece. FTR, I am a retired, professional music critic, with 45+years experience. Notes: a young Cher is one of the background vocalists here and this was a trademark sound of music producer Phil Spector called The Wall of Sound.
@Aurora-tp3dy
@Aurora-tp3dy Год назад
This is their first record after they left Spector's record company. They were with him for about little more than a year. (During the '60s, they recorded with Moonglow, then Spector's Philles records, then Verve.) Cher was a backup singer on You've Lost That Loving Feeling, not this song.

When this came out it was their biggest song so far, #1 for three weeks. You can go back to their first hit, Little Latin Lupe Lu. There are a couple of clips, performed live on Shindig, a tv show they were featured regularly on, Bill wrote it.

I'm sure someone has commented on this but, back in this time, "Radio" play dictated that all songs were kept short. This was clearly shown in the Freddie Mercury movie "Bohemian Rhapsody". Wish you were alive back then too. I started college back then. Love You.

I got to tell you living in my generation the music Alone was enough to make it worth living through that time the music was so good and I listen to a lot of music because I like music there's just something different about the late 50s 60s 70s and most of the 80s then any of the songs today even when I went over the country in the nineties and found a little bit of the Soulful type music over there for a decade or so now today even the country music no good either so we need to get back to that good old type of music because that's that's the music that makes life worth living you can have the worst day of your life and turn on any one of them old great songs like this that played regularly all day long on the radio back then and it could just completely turn your day around the worst day you ever had that great music could just put a smile on your soul.

If you like soulful music, you would probably like Michael McDonald. He sang and played keyboard with the Doobie Brothers and also had a good solo career. He has also done collaborations with Kenny Loggins and Christopher Cross and Patti Labelle and others. Some of his songs to check out include, "I Keep Forgetting", "Minute By Minute" "What A Fool Believes" and "It Keeps You Runnin'" You will love him

The Righteous Brothers have always been known for their soulful music and they had a good bit of it but I want to give you the name of a little song where they switch it up on you this is a fun little song that they actually do beautifully and I bet you'd like it if you heard it it's not a typical soul type song like what you're used to from them but the name of this little song is called little Latin Lupe lu. I think if you find that song and listen to it I think you'll enjoy it even though it's different from what they normally sing I think that's what makes it kind of cute and unique and it's kind of a upbeat Snappy song it's just I like it but I do like the soulful music a little better but little Latin Lupe Lu is a pretty good song.
