I Got Engaged My Second Day In Thailand: Six Months Later Update

Awesome timing. I finally told my family and my boss that I will be taking off a few months next year to hike the Appalachian Trail. I'm 50 years old and I know I'd look back and regret it if I didn't try. I'm looking into purchasing land and living out of a yurt once I get back from the trail. Good for you. Taking risks is part of life. Everything has a element of risk to it. We never know how anything will turn out. Without taking a risk you can't be vulnerable, grow and develop. I've seen it played out many times where people are stuck as they can't take that risk. The reward is worth the risk and if you fail just dust yourself off and keep going. There's plenty of ex-pat Thai vloggers dong really well on You tube. I wouldn't close that door just yet.

You had nothing to lose, didn't risk anything: Thailand is such a beautiful country, worth visiting anyway! You should go kayaking around Ao Nang/Krabi region, climbing in the Raylay (spelling?) beach area, diving... so much to do! My father also found love on the internet. They're still together, after 2 decades. She travelled many thousand km to be with him. There are many couples who live together until death do them apart. So, it could be possible for the two of you too! Many happy moments to the two of you!🌹🌻

Although i have noticed that many poeple have wrong opinion about south east adian women. I can clearly tell, that those things are not only wrong, but the opposite is true. By the way, i have seen hundreads of men that have been fooled in the process, particularly western men. Its purely because a lot of the time western men dont understand the culture of asia. Its a huge matter to talk about. I have 1 tip for anybody that is thinking about making the move like i did or you did, - "please , dont judge an asian woman like you would for a western woman. " Both has good and bad things about them but they are different. I have huge wxplaination for it but lets keep it short and sweet.

Congrats! Glad everything is going well for you two. You deserve happiness. It's not what I would do, but y'know what? That doesn't matter. You're two sane, consenting adults. The only opinions that matter are those of the people who personally know and sincerely value you as individuals. And even with that aside, in your particular set of circumstances, you had way more reason to propose early than 99.999% of people do. Friends who you can pick right back up with after years are the best! Those sorts of relationships are the real meat and potatoes of life, imo. Keeping up with friends is really hard for me, so those are the only long term friendships I manage to have anyway lol. If you ever felt like posting life in Thailand type vlogs about the culture, food, how you've found work and what you do for a living, etc. I'd be very interested in watching!
