This really makes me rethink how greedy the people who buy crazy expensive paintings of a stroke of a paintbrush and they just buy it to own it. Not bc they appreciate fake art but bc they're so greedy like that
to be fair. this is not a scam. every game u play on steam has access to ur steam data. he just happens to get login info from his website. its same as using login with google. it doesn't mean he can use ur account. he just has ur data like username, profile pic, etc. it can also be used to connect your in-game achievements with steam. Also, he says that it's his passion project of some kind and didn't expect to get a lot of traction. i get that too. he's just making it for fun. published it on steam as an early access. charges money for the early build. if u don't like it just refund. where is the scam part? also, he has Patreon for people who wants to support him. that's not a scam. As a developer even i have some ideas as him. even i planned on making games that are fun. the process of making is fun for me. i would have a patreon for people who wants to support me making the game if they want and if they like the direction of the game. and for the early build, im not sure about people paying for the early build as this guy did but there is nothing wrong with it since it's his decision and it's still refundable if it is not what you expected. But after watching this video, i just realized people will just try everything they can to project you in a bad light even if you have innocent intentions. if my perception about this situation is wrong then its fine and let's agree this gy is bad. but if i'm right, the people who knows nothing about how development process works and try to paint this gy in a bad light are just the worst pieces of human garbage so hungry for drama and clout, always trying to be on the moral high ground by trying to bring others down.
@@gold9994 MrBeast really spends way too much on a lot of his videos when ads don't pay that well. Maybe a sponsor is willing to spend a million dollars sometimes.
If you're old enough to understand, you can use your age as an excuse. You're also old enough to understand that whatever you were trying to excuse was wrong in the first place I feel this is something kids eventually learned, but I guess I was wrong
@falloutfella670 it's not, as shit the game is, its not criminal at all. All assets were either bought or gotten for free from Unreal Asset Marketplace, plus Unreal license says release and everything is free until you make your first mil and let's be clear, Nik here isn't making a million, he'd be lucky to break 5k
how is he a legend? he legit had a cry so bad about a game he could refund that he had to make a whole video claiming he got scammed lmao. Typical cry baby american, ah and from florida lmao..
@@Treebranch_ all fun and games till he gets charged as an adult for identity theft for the data harvesting in some round about way. He wont learn till theres actual blow back from it tbh.
Getting called out by Charlie has got to be so frightening to anyone since his following is so massive and your reputation will be ruined before you get to scam more people.
Nobody scammed him. It would be a scam if he watched his tiktok and thought the game was good and that was the reason he bought the game. He bought the game for completely different reason.
The worst part is that this kid is probably not facing any consequences as he's definitely going to do another scam in the future (if he isn't planning another one already).
HE GOES TO MY SCHOOL LOLOLLL. hes definitely gonna do it again he lied to a teacher + said he was dyslexic (hes not) so that he could get out of reading a book in class last year
Every soda/Snack company is scamming people all the time one Can of Coke is $0.26 normally it’s sold here in California for $1.00, too $1.75 Or $2.75 depending on where you are at in California
Fun fact: That is a completely unmodified Advanced Locomotion System v4 plugin that's being used for all the character anims. There was maybe a day put into this entire thing.
I guess this is the danger of intentionally seeking out the worst-reviewed games on Steam. Also, is TikTok just like 80% scammers these days? I feel like I'm learning about a different TikTok user promoting a fake or misleading product pretty much every day now. The place seems to be like a grifter's paradise.
@@ithinkiwoulddie9196I member. I said it then and I'll say it again: TikTok is the Frankensteins monster version of the consequences of musically. The one rare occasion where bullying would have been ok would be when musically saw his first day on this forsaken earth. PokemonGo kid was a warning. TIKtok is the consequence. Now we have Chinese data farming short clips that rott everyone's attention span even more. RU-vid doing it too and me falling for it too grinds my gears that much more. Never forget musically ^^
god damn, the psychopaths and narcissists don’t even have to hide their true nature anymore. zero consequences for what they do and they get away with it easily.
If you linked your account to a website, 2 factor does not fully protect your account. They still have a backdoor to use your account for a variety of scam activity. Seriously I know from experience.
8:35 At this moment I noticed that the game has the Unreal Engine logo which means the developer didn't even care to change a simple thing and released the Dev build of the game
Steam login is handled by OpenID and Nik will not be able get to get information like passwords. He will only get information like username, avatar, email, etc. If Steam login was able to give out your Steam password it will be very unsecure. If need will using his own login system then yes that would be weird but Steam login is very secure.
Tbh I kinda respect the hustle. Its easy to hate scammers but honestly If I had a way of making money without having to work then I'd do it too. Plenty of scammers are just trying to put food on the table
@@loveableheathen7441 depends on the kind of scam tbh. ones like this arent really too bad besides fooling a tiktok audience, so i dont mind as much. but then theres the ones that try taking literally everything away from a person like their money and email / social media accounts. The ones that will steal accounts of people just to further a scam for potentially more money or even just for some stupid pointless kind of thing like those elon musk tesla streams on hacked youtube accounts.
Charlie's energy getting scammed is like a representation of what schools want kids to do during fire drills. The way this man is chilling is from another world.
@@pold111 Steam has qa? There's a legit game that's called "Hitler Sex" (I forgot the real name it's just off the top of my head). Where yes, you fuck Hitler. Literally.
Logan Paul has set the standard here for shameless scams, and I presume, as with Logan there will be no consequences. So I predict this kid has a bright future in the world of shameless 'game developers'.
As an actual indie dev this sucks to see, those of us who actually pour their heart and soul into their personal projects lose trust and respect from the public
Honestly, I can't imagine it staying on steam for very long if enough people start flagging and reporting it as a fraudulent product....which it obviously is
It’s not a scam he just didn’t have enough time to fully build the game since he’s super busy always blow drying his hair 😂even know anther RU-vidr made about the same game basically in like less than an hour when the RU-vid star has been talking about building this game for over six months now smh
Every time Charlie talked about how kids should always get scammed when they are young, I knew it was only a matter of time before he would get scammed.
the fact that its been 1 day and is already #1 trending on gaming really shows that moist getting scammed is a big deal, no one gets away with scamming moist
I LITERALLY KNOW HIM HE GOES TO MY SCHOOL LOLOLLLLL hes an absolute scumbag he talks to people abt the "business" hes starting and he lied to a teacher and said he had dyslexia so he could get out of reading a book for a grade
Wow. This is wild. I hope Charlie holds him accountable. What an arrogant child this Nick person is. Hope he gets out of his greedy victim mentality sooner than later. People like him don’t usually change their ways on their own. They need consequences and a change of heart. He definitely knows better at 17! Yikes.
"guys, i'm 17, stop comparing my [scam] with big projects because i'm the only one working on it" like wow he really went and speedran through the usual non-excuses.
Ya I disagree, supporting these obvious scams just ensure that there will be more to come. This is good content for him. Why would he want these scams to stop?
I remember my dad got scammed in the 80s he saw a article in the newspaper about a 100% fly killing device so he thought to himself "hey this sounds pretty great!" Any way he buys it and in the mail the next day he gets a parcel which was the fly killing device and in the parcel was two Jenga blocks
that must be wrong, with the insane amount of refunds on steam there’s no way in hell they’re gonna tank that loss when they can just make the devs of the game pay for it
Oh gosh, the way he tries and flips it on the person who revealed he was scamming is silly. He was charging $30.00 for a non existent game firstly. And he tries to dilute the point by saying "even though it's not GTA VI", to say the standards are too high, but it's not anything even a game at all. Edit: Never mind, 12:30 onwards, Charlie says it best
As someone that puts several hours into the things he creates, sometimes days or even months or years. I couldn't be more disgusted that he released nothing and lined his pockets. Like just think of Indie Game the Movie those guys were losing sleep.
