I've had vastly harder challenges in my life and I fought through them all and won with a smile on my face. If you knew my life story you'd agree. I had a building like yours had a lot of leaks fixed all of them, then a tornado came along and took the roof off, so you see Pete it can always be worse.

Bad luck tends to find those looking for it

Get on roof make sure all screws are tight then caulk over the heads with some quad caulk wear you think leak is and do all screws above it . And look around anything g that's sticking up through roosting stack boot and so on. Been in the roofing business long time. Hope this helps

When my metal shop roof got a couple of leaks ,my roofer buddy said I need to coat the whole roof with a coating from Lowes...it has been 8 or 9 years now and ...no leaks...hope this helps.

Love the man cave! I have a memory lane also in my shop. Just a couple thought and some FYI. To remove fiberglass particles off of your skin wash off with white vinegar! I found this out the hard way. My sister had bought 12 acres and I went out one morning to walk the property. Well this land is all pasture so it had tall grass so all I had is the shoes I had on and didn’t want to have wet shoes and socks so I took off my socks and just wore my shoes. As I was walking back towards my truck from checking this place out my foot started stinging like ants were biting me then the other foot did the same thing. Got back to my truck let the tail gate down and proceeded to take off my shoes and swat the ants away, but their were no ants and by this time my shit was on fire. I put my socks on put my shoes in the floor board and cranked the heat up and hauled ass to the closer store being dollar tree. I ran my sock wearing ass in there and picked up a tube of anti itch cream and hauled ass back to my truck and proceeded to put a half a tube on each foot and haul ass 45 minutes back home! This helped alittle. When I got home they were still burning and their was no bite marks or red spots any where. I got my flashlight and began looking at my feet and there I saw it. Fiberglass hairs all over my feet. So I got the vinegar and drowned my feet to get some relief! I had been sanding on some fiberglass panels with this shoes on and I guess the shit worked its way through my tennis shoes and through my socks. Talk about pain and itching and dealing with this shit while driving home. It sucked! On your sheet metal roof those washers are gonna eventually fail sooner or later. They make a caulk especially for metal roofing and what I done was coat each damn screw with caulk and so far so good for the past 4 years. Good luck brother I feel your pain.

It's the season Pete. When things go sideways on houses, buildings and cars, it's usually in the cursed month of February. I hate paying someone to do a job that I can't do myself only to learn later that they didn't use the same attention to detail that I'm inclined to do. Your bad luck is someone else's shortcut.

Hello Pete, I hope you are able to find the source of the leak where the water is coming in. Im 63 and ive always tried to be a perfectionist at whatever I was doing and I got that from my Dad. I can see by your work and work ethics that you are also. I think your work on cars is PRISTINE !!!! You can see you pay attention and address all the details. I just recently found your channel about a month or so ago. I love your channel and I subscribed after watching a couple of your videos. I have been doing bodywork and painting cars and a few trucks since I was 25 years old off and on. Mostly my vehicles and my Dads then and a few for other people. Now I have a 85 El Camino to do some repair panels on and bodywork,,prime and paint ,and then flip it to put the money into restoring my 1953 Chevy Panel Truck which I have a year and a half of just cutting out and welding in new panels,but this is my dream truck and I love doing this kind of work (for myself). I would have loved to have worked under you for several years !!! Evercoat should have sent a representive out to your shop so they could have seen the baja bug up close and personnel so to speak . They should have to pay for the blasting at the least !!! but like you said ,we know how much they care about the little shop. I think we (our ERA) are a dying breed !!! Todays world doesnt care about attention to detail and striving for perfection. Get some Vans skate board tennis shoes for that slick ass roof! I had th same deal..chased it and even tyed to pin point with a water hose slowly moving..finally gave up.tightened screws and put a Hersey kiss on all of em! Done!

Pete I’m living your life this is exactly how it would work for me right to the insulation in my mouth that stuff is worse than regular insulation but I totally could feel it in my throat when you were clearing your throat I know you will figure it out you have done amazing work on that building I loved watching you and Minnie work on it from the cold days all the trips back and forth to Dallas you are an amazing man thank you for taking me along on your journey even getting to see your house built was very cool and didn’t you have to move the septic tank also 😮

I bought a new metal bldg about 4 years ago. Built by a guy that was going to keep it but got divorced and wanted to move. Day one after buying had a nice big leak. Later started leaking here and there. About 5 leaks now off and on. I think the wind works the bldg. Caulking the screws sounds like it may be the cure

Pete just get on the roof and find the leak luckily its pretty easy to trace since its in your man cave and lower ceilings…

Would've taken a few mins to have someone go on the roof and fix. Ive put up many of these buildings and standing seamed roofs

this is how people get taken advantage of. making mountains out of mole hills is like blood in the water to contractors. get up on the roof and put some elastomeric caulk and take the rest of the day off for gods sake.

have a heated boat storage bldg the same design as your bldg at a marina on Lake Superior. when below zero it would rain inside the bldg ruining canvas and woodwork causing thousands in damage . the combination of condensation on the inside of the tin destroyed the insulation the roof tin had to be removed to fix the issue

Pete do a fix that we North from you call, temporary, permanent fix, hang a giant funnel at the sealing and a long clear hose to the ground to funnel the water away from your desk, stop taking the shop apart, make money restoring cars what your great at comment made from love, not sarcasm.

I paid for my roof to be done and 5 years later the roof is worse off than before it was done. the guy who did it is long gone and now i have to try and find money to have it done again. Good luck Pete hope ya get it sorted out. I have read that the rubber seals on them screws break down after a few years and leak anyhow. It's more money that ya got to spend but they do have a spray rubber sealer to coat the roof. Once again hope ya get it sorted out soon✌

We had a water leak at our daughters house recently 2000 gal of water under the house before it was repaired. One of them fancy pants pex connectors came loose the pipe popped off and had a 3/4 in line free flow for about 20 hours. Dont hire wanna be plumbers is my lesson

I guess it would have been better for the leak to be in a spot where it was not noticed right away and it had time to damage something other than someones PRIDE. All buildings have issues and to have just 1 leak is actually doing great.

The trick i found that worked best for that leak is for you to have Minnie go on the roof with a walkie talkie while it's dark and you have a bright flash light on a long pole shine it up to her and wherever she sees the light mark the roof ! Also you could use a roofing caulking and put a Hershey kiss dap over every screw head you have to kinda push it down a little while your applying it that works best
