Trackmania World Tour maps were present in the in-game matchmaking for the Spring 2023 season. If you were at least Gold 1 (and other players in the lobby too) then you had a chance to play one of the 10 Trackmania World Tour [E] maps. We participated in the World Tour European Regionals together with a few of the members of PIWO team. This e-sport oriented system was probably the most fun I've ever had playing this game. It allowed for insanely competitive matches, but definitely prioritized the skillful minority and a lot of average players complained about this Nadeo decision. For the current season, the World Cup maps are not included in the matchmaking map pool... :(

Q: How did you get the 0.001% number?
A: I took my placement in the season ( Trackmania/status...) and the max player count registered by Trackmania.io on one of the TMWT maps (Control E) and divided them.
Q: How long did it take for you to get TOP 10 world?
A: Around 170 hours across 3 months. I reached the Trackmaster rank three times overall that season, but I had to climb back up every time due to points inflation (and losing matches :p)
Q: What were your favorite World Tour maps?
A: Sinuous, Airwalk, Vortex (that bugslide line makes me 😍)
Q: How long did it take you to edit this video? What software?
A: Overall it took around 18 hours across 6 days; I wanted to get this out sooner but I was traveling a lot during my summer holidays. I used Sony Vegas Pro 17, the in-game MediaTracker and a notepad to conceptualize / plan-out the video.
Q: Do you see yourself as a TOP 10 WORLD player skill-wise?
A: Definitely not, matchmaking is a 50/50 split between skill and grinding. If all the players in the world would spend as much time as me, then I'd barely get top 100. However my advantage is that I'm a relatively consistent player, so who knows ;)
