OMG congrats on the job! "Real life" jobs do help a lot with mental health, particularly if you are an extroverted person. I'm a vet tech and I get to hangout with animals all day, hehe. It really fulfills me. I totally agree that RU-vid is indeed a real job, my sister works in digital marketing (don't quote me, but like in this field) and she always says all this stuff takes a lot more time to produce than anyone could ever imagine. You and Eli are doing such a great job! So young and yet so down-to-earth and even keeled and hard-working. You are both VERY emotionally mature, I forget how young you really are all the time. I’ve had 4 kids and can 1000% empathize with you on the breastfeeding struggle, worrying about what mom shamers would say, and ultimately the massive amount of pressure I put on myself to breastfeed. As a young 1st timer it is SOOO hard and you made the best choice for you and for your baby. She is healthy and happy and that’s all that matters so speak your truth & do NOT let anyone shame you for doing what is best for you & your family.

I think so many comments are projections of how other people imagine they would feel or is how they feel in a similar situation and does not reflect or have any bearing on the other person’s experience at all. Not just social media perceptions but perceptions in general.

That is amazing that you were able to pump and bottle feed for that long! I made it for 6 weeks with my first baby. It was rough!! I was successful in breastfeeding my next three babies, which is what I wanted to do. I agree that fed is best. You have to do what works for you and your baby. I was very grateful my brand new grandson was breastfed during the formula shortage. I had friends who didn't and the struggle and worry they went through was so sad. It was also nice to see those who could donate their milk to others who couldn't get anything for their babies. So that is a positive from that situation, too. Congrats on the new job!

I love working from home but recently had to make a change to a position back in an office. I struggle with high anxiety as well which makes it difficult. I also relate big time with going to new places. Sometimes, I can drive to a new place and cannot even get out of my car. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s a thing. I do think it’s important and healthy to get out and be a productive member of society. 😊

Congratulations on the new job and upcoming move. Please don't ever feel like you have to explain why you do or don't do something. You choose to share your life and beautiful baby with the world, but you still deserve privacy. And don't feel guilty about getting a job or sitter, Bexley will be fine, we all deserve a little break some time. And making that paycheck will only make your lives better.
Fed is best! My big kids were amazing at breastfeeding and we breastfed for at least 2 years. When I had my little one several years later we struggled for too many months, he would forget how to latch every time. After a lot of appointments with our lactation specialist she finally told me “fed is best” we tried everything, but he just could not find his rhythm. We switched to formula, and we were both sooo happy.

Getting out of the house is good even if it's for work. Social interaction is important. I am like you with the baby/kid stuff. I love having my kids and would do everything with them if I could.

I heard recently that “ You don’t have to participate in every argument you are invited to.”. It makes sense. There are always going to be someone who wants to try to bring you down. Choose to let them stay there while you move on.

I’m happy for you that you got a “real” job (silly lol) just because being a mom myself, it’s hard to get out of the house for things that benefit ME. grocery shopping, bringing the kids to school, etc. yea obviously it’s important - but having a legit reason to get out of the house and do something that’s focused to me and what I want, is important. also, in the sense of being a mom - it felt important for my kids to have scheduled time away from me before they were in school. I think it made the transition for them easier, instead of having me be the main consistent person there caring for them - they were already used to spending some time away from me.
I think you are a terrific Mom and I love that you put your family first. People jump to conclusions and I don't know why. I only breast feed my second for 7 months and my 3rd for 4 months, My first not at all because I was working and they are just fine.
