Man i knew the problem wasnt his money, it was that he had no support system. Thanks Dave for encouraging him to join a community away from his ex wife. He needs to be able to self validate himself and find who he is away from her and that will help him gain confidence. Some women wont put down the materialism to see their husband/man succeed even thru a crisis. Im a woman and and I dont even understand that logic. Yet sometimes thats all it is blocking you from succeeding, a greedy self serving wife. Find u a wife that wants to see u win, willing to cheer u on when u fall.and get back up and u will never go wrong. We are out here fellas and when u find her hold onto her.

I plan on paying the boat off by June, then the house will be paid off by November 2023 with minimum payments when the original loan wasn't up until 2035.

Working hard and making an “extra” 4K a month and then having to give it BACK might be somewhat depressing lol then he’s facing a divorce that he obviously regrets. This man is self reflecting and having a sense of self awareness that he made mistakes in his marriage that contributed to his divorce. Go through the emotions but don’t attach to them bud. @lifeisgood070
@lifeisgood070 3 года назад
He needs to find something that is meaningful to him. He is currently realizing right now that money provides no meaning. Being in debt or not being in debt we all die. If in either scenario you cannot spend your time on things that you enjoy - WHATEVER that is - then the depression sets in. & yes theoretically you should be in more control of your time being debt free. Not necessarily true. You could have more free time taking out a 50k loan and then moving back to your family in africa where there are no debt collectors. You might be in massive debt, but have more freedom that way and more meaning in your life that way. It all depends.

Hey Craig, I know the world seems heavy now because, you know, you're broke, the holidays are coming up, and there's shame in not being able to "enjoy" the holidays without using credit cards or going further into debt. HOWEVER, you need to stop, look at the numbers, and realize you're killing it! The second thing you need to realize is that it's okay to take 2 years off from American peer-pressure driven consumerism to get your life on track. Single dad? Learn a cookie recipe! Learn a pizza recipe! Make the next few holidays about creating something with your kid(s). I want you to take whatever you were budgeting for Christmas, and cut that in half. That's now your budget for the holidays! I don't care if it's $50 or $5, you can make some wonderful memories. It's about valuing time, appreciating you accomplishments or newfound devotion to improve, and looking forward to where you'll be in 3 years: Debt free, full emergency fund, and on your way to investing towards your future!

That money can go very fast. He has children. It also depends on where he lives ( some places are ridiculous in cost) and if he jobs requires him to stay in that area. He could child support, alimony, taxes are killer if you own a business, college debt etc. Also if he owes that money to the government they could be garnishing and maybe that's why he's not thrilled. He just has to live off the rest after taxes.
