@@ikarus1752 Surprisingly, it’s a good album. Lil Xan finally decided to use actual words for rhymes and declares himself a lyrical rapper, incorporating boom bap drums into his beats which he learned about while in rehab. His Kendrick Lamar feature was 🔥🔥, his flow and cadence has improved amazingly, and his punchlines are actually good. What are we talking about again?
@@trinityFGC are you talking about Gmail & The restraining orders and the Les Claypool song? Those came out like 2 years ago. They still have a chance.
Deepfried Cow It was a track they put together sometime before their 2015 US tour and played it over the PA before shows. Went unreleased for years, then they streamed it in 2019 during Warp’s takeover of NTS radio.
@@213Ro1 the label president has confirmed a Kendrick album coming soon. While the “soon” part is subjective especially coming from TDE, that at least confirms that there is an album and it is coming.
Everyone thinks his new album will be a 10/10 based on Kendrick's career. Section .80 - 8/10 GKMC - 9/10 TPAB - 10/10 Flower Boy - 8/10 IGOR - 9/10 next album - 10/10.
It's weird indeed. Everywhere I comment, people tell me how much they love me and my videos. Sometimes it is annoying. But right now it would be okay. So say something nice about my content, dear erts
i hope life grips have a great 2021. Their last project (year of the lord) was a christian - country banger and i hope they will be as consistent as they've been in the past years, with classics like "The power that jesus christ be" or "The godly store". I also hope mr. grip is doing fine : )
@@savestate13 i also loved "jesusless pit", where mr grips told us about the period where he had lost faith in christ but then re-converted as a catholic christian
I hope Rina gets more recognition on promotion for “Sawayama” and I’m also anticipating “Chemtrails over the Country Club” from Lana. I’m very much anticipating FKA Twig’s third album (that she wrote and produced in during quaratine) but I understand if she needs to take more time off to learn earthbending, airbending, firebending and waterbending beforehand.
Updates 3 months later: - Elton John became a feature on a remix of Rina Sawayama’s song “Chosen Family” which gave Rina alot of attention in the pop landscape. - “Chemtrails over the Country Club” by Lana Del Ray comes out and is well received. - Nothing heard from FKA Twigs so far this year.
I remember reading in an ama with the group that they did a coin toss to choose between a horror or kids music themed album. I hope we get that other option someday
I hope that Dead End Hip Hop has a huge year. I still don’t understand how those guys aren’t at half a million subs. They deserve at least a mill. Their reviews are awesome and their production value is great. Bums me out.
@@joshuagonzales8451 I don’t feel that way. It’s refreshing listening to 5 friends just discuss rap for 30 minutes. I also dig that there’s no ratings too. Its just a nice discussion. Its like you get the feel of when you’re just with your boys talking music. I wouldn’t say they suck.. that’s a little harsh man.
RMR: dropped some singles, no album Lil Nas X: Montero got a 7/10 Soul Glo: dropped two EP's, did not make Fantano's "Top 15 EP's" list Death Grips: N/A SZA: dropped a lot of singles, no album. "Kiss Me More" is #49 on Fantano's "Top 50 Singles" list Shygirl: dropped some singles, no album 100 Gecs: N/A, but "10000 Gecs" is confirmed for 2022! Mario Judah: dropped some singles, no album Nostalgia Critic: N/A Corey Feldman: His single "Rockin' Revolution" is Fantano's #1 worst single of 2021! Overall I was disappointed by Melon's new predictions video. While I appreciate him concentrating his efforts on a smaller, sturdier list that eschewed bigger names for some smaller critical darlings, I can't say his ruminations succeeded in the slightest. Contrast this with his bold 2018 video, where he "hoped Kanye wouldn't spend the year too silent", or his 2019 video, where he hoped "Chance the Rapper will come out with his new project". I'm feeling a decent 4 on this one. TRAN-
Honestly I enjoy Angelic 2 The Core, as bad as it is I still laugh my ass off and have a good time, which is more than I can say about other artists and albums. I absolutely would not mind another Cory Feldman album.
Fantano please start putting the names of the smaller artists under the pictures when you're talking about them. It would be so much easier to take a screenshot than looking them up every time. :)
I’m really hoping for a new Tierra Whack project, she showed so much creativity and talent on Whack World and some of her singles and I’m very excited to see where she goes next.
Kero Kero Bonito. Their Civilization I LP released in 2019 and they debuted a snippet of a new song at their Live from Appleville set. I really love the new sort of apocalyptic funk/synth aesthetic they're going through. Their albums/phases have such cohesive themes and a strong, unique visual identity that I'm always excited to see just what they're going to do next.
@@Sprightey I get what you mean but really I think he fits in well with a lot of other mainstream rappers or maybe even old school rappers but not fuckin' kei groups whatever the fuck they are. Better said: he might not fit in perfectly everywhere but he wouldn't fit at all in a kei group.
Jpegmafia does his own thing, id like him to get more collabs with people on his own tracks but he experiments a lot and that usually means less sales, either way his musics fantastic and i hope more people get into his sound
FKA twigs is probably going to drop a new album early this year. I hope it does well for her she has been one of the best artists of the last 10 years but really hasnt got her flowers. i dont think she has made her masterpiece yet either. SZA is going to drop an incredible project too
I hope Ritchie with a T and Parker Corey are able to recover and make some amazing music this year despite losing groggs, would be a shame to lose such amazing talents
I see one more posthumous album from Injury Reserve itself and then Ritchie starts a solo career and Parker does production for him and expand his collaborations
I was watching some peoples “most anticipated albums of ___” and I thought it was funny like “Wow this dude thought Kendrick would drop in 2019? Thats crazy, anyway Im excited for Kendrick to 100% drop this year”
It’s confirmed that there is a new kenny album . We just don’t know when . Although the shittier time the us is having the better the Kendrick album . Also the worse the mental health of kanye the better the album will be .
wow Melon, didn’t expect you to expose how much you loved Nostalgia Critic’s The Wall at the end there. I, too, would love to see a The Wall 2. Great video!
YES!!! they had a two year streak for so long but they didn't drop in 2020. I'm seriously hoping they release something this year, they're one of my favourite bands ever.
I mean a lot of artists were overlooked in 2020, I hope some ppl rise to the top in the new decade bcos we need something new. Let’s hope the new year comes with bangers
For sure paying attention to 100 gecs in 2021. 1000 gecs blew my mind because, although i didn't know what to expect sonically, i figured I'd dislike the album given the borderline troll-y sound signature that greets you instantly. But with virtually no knowledge of the duo prior to when you interviewed Laura Les, I was pretty stunned at how catchy, yet musically satirical the album felt like, and i didn't think i could ever describe parts of an album as "cute" in a positive sense given my typically heavier background in music tastes. I'm skeptical of 100gecs' future success though, only from the excessive banking off of their debut album via a pointless remix album. i'm cool with official remix albums, but not so much when there's only 1 full album to pick content from. I'd love for them to prove me wrong through an upcoming album. I definitely feel your enthusiasm for 100 gecs to evolve their sound, cuz i'm craving another banger like money machine!
I’m not sure if there will be new death grips music this year but if concerts are safe then I do think they might tour. They were playing shows as recent as August 2019
I'm really excited for the debut album from metal supergroup Wizardthrone, featuring members of Alestorm, Gloryhammer, Necrogoblikon and Aether Realm. Really hope you can review it when it finally comes out.
@@agfromdai.e3806 Ab Soul's been talking for 2 years now how they have a project way past ready to drop, but the label refuses to release it, wanting to "space out releases"
id love that some of my favorite bands have a big 2021 - Green Day, The Regrettes, Rex Brown, Mammoth WVH, 5 Seconds of Summer, Buckcherry, and a few others. would love to hear new music from these bands.
I’ve been a big fan of studio killers for years like since I was nine years old lmao and now Jenny went viral they’re about to release a web series and new music and I’m so happy they’re getting the recognition they deserve
I hope EDEN has a great year in 2021. I am a fan of the majority of his music but I can acknowledge he hasn’t put out anything astonishing or crazily good. I think he has a shit ton of potential and I want to see him come to full form.
Remi Wolf is a great artist that im surprised anthony hasn’t covered. she has an incredible vocal range and very unique and catchy DIY sound that really has the potential to take the mainstream pop scene by storm
