In T3 he live off the grid with full knowledge of judgement day and try his hardest to avoid it saving the whole world ...it's explain even at the ending that judgment day wasnt meant to be stop but to survive it and by Salvation he fully embrace of what he was meant to be
@@NephiBrown That didn't get reprogrammed because his new mission to protect John was always there so he's actually correct, Salvation is still the only film in the franchise to do it.
I liked that it finally wasn't about stopping judgement day or one single fucking terminator chasing the main cast the entire movie and the one of them commenting "judgement day is still coming" blah blah. Honestly all these fucking movies are same except for this one judgement day has finally fucking happened they have to fight all the cunts not just one and john Connor is finally doing rebellion against the machines instead of someone having to protect his ass
@T-800 yeah i remember that lol t2 is my favorite... this film is a different story.. never paid attention to the references except for the "ill be back" and "come with me if you want to live." I definitely turned off my brain when I watched the fault in our stars (slept through it with a date) and Last Jedi
1:42 Excellent acting by Sam Worthington. Devastated that robots confirm that he is not human, but also relieved by the same, then becomes even more determined to exact vengeance. That's 3 emotions in one very short clip.
At least Terminator Salvation tried something new and could have led to new good future war stories. Maybe a older Kyle Reese point of view of the war, stories of the members from John Connor's team. The Potential was endless... but oh well. I guess Dark Fate is what we got.

Not everyone is born with a brain. I can see you were. I agree. But why Genesis & the new trash? Truly the love of money is the root of all evil.
TheFirehands150 Dark Fate is way better than this movie. The only thing good about Salvation is Sam Worthington’s character, Marcus Wright. That’s it. All that originality shit is as dumb of an argument as saying the Star Wars Prequels are good because they’re at least “oRiGiNaL”.
@@michaeloquendo11 Dark Fate is garbage, not only because it had no originality, but also because it rendered every sacrifice that the characters made in Terminator 1 and 2 completely pointless. The new characters ranged from bland to awful and the film barely had any decent action sequences. Linda Hamilton is the only good thing that Dark Fate had going for it.
@Thomas Jiang Sure, Dani Ramos is pretty much the same character as John Connor. But I wouldn't say she was awful. I still cared about Dani throughout the whole movie, which I can't say the same about Christian Bale's John Connor who was static, and a little too reminiscent of Batman only dressed in a Resistance uniform. Plus you have Grace who has backstory that explains her origins and abilities. She was badass, and some of her flash backs were pretty cool which made her compelling. What exactly makes her awful and bland to you? Whats wrong with the fight sequences? Yeah, some certain scenes of the fights you can see the CGI; they were damn well action-packed and entertaining still. The plot of Dark Fate didn't render Terminators 1 and 2 completely pointless. Because the story established Judgement Day to have been permanently averted with Skynet destroyed, which was the point of T2 also. Sure, they simply built a new AI and a new war against the machines still happened and everything, it all goes back to Sarah Connor's resolution of not having certainty on what the future holds in T1.
Yep me too ! A very very underrated movie I feel, and for me it’s a worthy companion to the first 2 films! A different story with some very neat twists and turns, some excellent new Terminator machines, and strong performances from Bale and Worthington, made this for me a great watch! The movie seemed stronger without having Arnold in it, but it was the interesting storyline that made the difference!!
It made even Rise of the Machines a good film. But it’s not as good as this one. So I say T1, T2, Salvation, T3. Genysis was bad (but it did have a Sarah/Kyle romance plot, which is better than anything dark fate did)
Fans when Salvation was released: It sucks. Genesys: *Released*. Fans: Okay, Salvation is fine. Dark Fate: *Released*. Fans: We fucking said Salvation is fine.
Dont tell me John Connor isn't an important cinematic hero. Christian Bale agreed to play him. Bale would not have even bothered if John Connor wasn't an iconic hero.
He played an anorexic with Split personality disorder in The Mechanic, good movie, not iconic Actors will play any role as long as they are getting paid Saying that John Connor is a classic character, Arnie's Terminator is the Iconic one
Well few days ago i heard that Bale was supposed to play Marcus, but Bale wanted to play Connor. In first version of the movie it was a small episodic role, so they had to re-write the script in order to give him more screen-time
@SicSemperEvelloMortemTyrannis TyrannyEnder I saw those horrendous so called Terminator movies Femenism has nothing to do with bad writing/acting/casting Back to your screen name, do you even understand who you are quoting, and why
I remember seeing this in the movie theaters and was blown away by it. It was a full house and everyone clapped at the end. What the film got right was the action, visuals, atmosphere and cast. The story was simple, but it was very predictable and not very compelling which I felt hurt the film the most. That said, it still maintained it's dark tone throughout the entire duration. No cringe worthy moments, or silly dumb scenes like T3, Dark Fate and Genisys had... just a straight up sci-fi war film. At the time it got mixed reviews, but I knew as years past fans would realize how special this movie was. McG should be proud of himself, he was the only director who had the balls to make a future war Terminator film, and managed to pull it off for the most part.
I’m so glad your cinema enjoyed and applaused for this film! It has stood the test of time, and I’m happy that more and more people are appreciating it.
"I'll be back" Notice how that's NOWHERE near as forced as when Linda was saying it in DF? Salvation's script> Dark Fate's. Thanks Flashback, keep uploading those director cut clips.
Why the shit he sounds like Batman? Did John lose his former cool personality even if the incidents he know that would come? It is better when Linda says this and it is not forced. You are nuts and when a female tries to shine you say oh that bitch is forced.
christo alphonse joshy dude.....it did feel kinda forced, plus John Conner is an ADULT now. And if I see an adult still act like his younger self I’d be pretty worried. Stop bringing feminism into this.
@@utoresa5193 Let's continue on the chat: Dark Fate: I'm gonna stand and fight! T3: Talk to the hand TGenisys: I order you to shut up T2: Shut up, dickward T1: Wrong! *BAM*
eh, Bale's a good actor, but he wasn't given much material to work with. His character in this mostly just shouting orders and stating exposition in his Batman voice. He's less of a character and more of a caricature in this. It doesn't help that he bares little resemblance to past iterations of John Connor, mainly the adult John we see at the beginning of T2, so saying he's perfect is kind of reaching in my opinion. Honestly, I would've preferred it with Josh Brolin in the role. That's about as close to a perfect adult John Connor as we could get. He's a pretty versatile actor, he's got the right physique, and he looks very similar to the adult John we see in T2.
They should have continued the series from Salvation with 5th one being Terminator : Retribution which would actually show the full scope of the war with the machines on a global level. 6th one would be called Terminator : Extinction and would involve the end of the war and time travel.
Ideas that sound cool on paper won't necessarily translate well to film. These planned sequels likely would have had their moments, but mostly been medicore.
Terminator Salvation(TS) is the best Terminator after Terminator 2. TS's "universe" is the one to be explored, not this going back in time rehash stuff. Christian Bale is a fantastic John Connor. Common was good as well.
It does have really good worldbuilding, perfectly established this dark and gritty post-apocalyptic world, and introduced many new machines. It’s the perfect foundation for a future war trilogy. If only they can continue on with this.
Not only beauty but also smart and tough, the one that not only understands hardships of the war but contributes to it with her suggestion and service as a doctor
One thing I'll give to John, is that he was able to preserve one hell of a rock n roll cassette! Lol. Hopefully when humanity comes to an end, I'll still have all my cds and tapes!!!
Terminator salvation is my favorite in the series .... I think they did a really good job of capturing the idea of what life would be like in a post apocalyptic world.
Impossible not to love this scene...GunsndRoses combined with motorcycle is made on purpose to give us a recall of his children in Terminator II. And the final part where the motorcycle starts up and perfect drift on asphalt.. is so soo soo badass that it gives me goosebumps men. this was a real stylized Terminator movie, no doubt of that-
I've probably been spending too much time at work, but when I saw Connor plugging in his cable at 1:02 my first thought was "I hope Skynet hasn't locked those ports down with group policy or he is in TROUBLE!" :)
Except the guy who kept ruining shots. That wasn’t the first time he walked into the scene to screw around with the lighting. As a member of a crew he should have notified his supervisor about the light and they could have cut to fix it. There were so many things he could have done besides walking into the scene to try to fix it.
Vampire The Immortal God people like u were trashing salvation. When genyshit came out yall praised salvation and trashed genesis. And now dark date is out everyone trashed dark fate and praised genysis.
Why didn't people like this movie? Dark, gritty, tells a futuristic story, it's compelling, it's a prequel to the future but a sequel to the past... I LIKE IT SINCE IT CAME OUT!
Salvation despite what critics will tell you is a movie that has genuine effort, heart and passion put into it. Whether its Danny Elfman’s powerful and crunchy score, the muted war torn visual aesthetic or the new ideas it tried to inject into the series while still building on what was already there. It tries to be its own thing yet still respects the legacy of the first two, it’s the last Terminator movie where for the love of god I actually feared for the safety of the characters because in Salvation the Terminators are menacing as fuck, and I’ll largely attribute that to fantastic sound design and a brilliant blend of digital and practical effects. I mean jesus the film came out 10 years ago and it still looks more impressive than most movies of its kind today. I’m glad to see more people appreciating the film, if there was a Terminator film that deserved a sequel or two more than any it was Salvation. Who knows maybe we would have gotten those plasma rifles. For me, the Terminator Series goes Terminator, Terminator 2 Judgment Day Terminator Salvation Every other movie I just don’t consider canon, plus watching these 3 movies in this order makes for a pretty satisfying Terminator trilogy.
Terminator Salvation was at least decent it was the closest to see the future War continue off where Terminator 3 rise of the machines left off they could have done a lot better but at least it isn't as bad as dark fate
With the timeline they've borrowed they could have expanded that universe with a 3-part trilogy. I would have loved to see Skynet fully developped, John Connor and the underground Resistance in its full expansion, the birth of Kyle Reese etc... Too bad they've killed it with the ending. Yes good concept but reckless ending.
Moto-Terminators : Can calculate trajectory of projectiles and debris in milliseconds to maneuver around during Kyle's pursuit Also, Moto-Terminators : Gets rekt by obvious rope that was there stationary for more than 3 secs
0:15 a reference to T2 when John and his friend are on the dirt bike jamming Just realized after with the terminator John is dealing with: a motorcycle
1:03 Terminators use the same USB-standard B connector my really really really old usb hard drive and generic printer had? Good to know - I ain't throwin' away them cables.
"Chase", "Bike", "I'll be back.", "Friendship of Terminator (Marcus) and child (Star)", "Schwarzenegger(T-800)".... As far as I can come up with, this movie has a lot of Terminator respect. But a my friend denied this movie because there was no "time-travel". WHY?
Best Terminator movie since T2… The idea to show how the future would be was brilliant. Too bad that they did not continue it with the same characters/actors.
