Today Dad & I have a bunch of mechanical stuff to finish up, and I'll show you how we do it. We disassemble the starter for the Farmall MD and see what parts it needs. I bring you up to date on our repair work on the Farmall MD front wheel centers and put the new tires on the rims. We finish installing the quick attach on the International 2000 loader for the Farmall 656. We take the ring gear off the Farmall MD flywheel, flip it around, and reinstall it so the starter can engage with unworn teeth. And finally, I show you my 1955 International R-172 truck and talk about possible plans for it. It's another busy day on Just a Few Acres Farm!
Note:
-We do not offer farm tours
-We do not ship our farm's products

A 3/8 '" fine thread nut will thread over the end of the valve stem also, and a warm tire setting it out in the sun, will conform much easier to the rim rather than a cold tire. Pete you are so lucky to be able to work with your dad! I miss mine dearly.

I learned to drive in a 1951 International pickup. Dad bought it new in 51 and we kept it for many years and used it on the farm. Great truck. We lived on a dirty road in South Georgia and when it rained a lot the roads would rut up pretty bad. The muffler would get dragged of by the mud and Dad grew tired of this so he welded a straight pipe with no muffler and that served the purpose. I enjoy your channel, it brings back a lot of memories.

Good tip to deflate the tube to allow it is relax and realign itself inside the tire. Pigs are growing fast now. Restoring that old 1 ton and making it a refrigerated box truck would make a great truck to haul your food to the farmers market.

Hey Pete. Next time you need to put tubes in something try this trick. Before you put the tube inside the tire, blow it up a bit and sprinkle a generous amount of baby powder on it. Deflate the tube and install it in the tire and rim. The baby powder acts as a dry lubricant and allows the tube to expand and conform to the tire and rim much easier and helps to prevent tears on your new tube. And as an added bonus, if you ever need to repair the tube, it will have a lovely fragrance to it. Lol!
