On this walk, I randomly explored some back streets of Matsudo and discovered some really nice hidden gems! I found a folk art museum, shrines and temples, and even walked into a bamboo grove.
This video is 1 hour long, which ensures a full walking experience with me in Japan. If you don't have the time to watch the entire video, please come back to it in the future when you can. RU-vid usually saves the video player at the point when you last watched the video.
Thanks for all your support! Please enjoy!!! Leave comments and questions down below! Cheers!

I hope you really enjoyed this walk with me! I had a great time filming it. Remember, if you don't have 1 hour to watch the entire thing in one sitting, you can always stop the video and come back to finish it at a different time. Don't feel obligated to sit through the entire video in one sitting if you can't! Also, please watch the video at a high resolution if possible. 720p is the minimum resolution, but I'd suggest 1080p or 2K if your internet can handle it! With that being said, what were some interesting things you enjoyed seeing along the way? Let me know in the comments!!!

If I wasn't so flat broke, I would've taken you up on your offer to visit Japan, Cory. You really should be careful, you know. LOL! Anyway, I loved this walking tour, especially the part where you stop to "smell the flowers" every so often and swoon at little doggies. Always looking forward to the next walking tour. Cheers!

Hi Cory, Nice to see your video again in JP, one suggestion, Could you put more information like the weather/temperature , time/date in your video? I think some people like me will feel more enjoyable to watch the whole video with those information in it

I have to say for a country where most homes, especially in urban areas, are small and built so close to each other, I’m surprised that many homes in your area are huge and are spread apart. Also, that museum full of antiques was very awesome. I could probably spend hours just gawking at all the nostalgic things that are displayed. Awesome video as usual! 👍🤙

the first time I saw vblogs of u-tubers walking thru Tokyo neighborhoods I was surprised how little or narrow the sidewalks were.
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 5 лет назад
Land is at a premium, plus many of the original streets of Japan were narrow to begin with, as cars and other large vehicles didn't exist. Now-a-days, the tiny cars have no problem navigating tiny alleys and what not.

Funny, as the train was going by at the 41:00 mark, a train was going by the exact time near my home. I love the museum with all the interesting artifacts. It was so cool, too bad he wasn't selling any of it. There are some huge beautiful homes in the area. Must be very expensive to live there.

haha What funny timing huh? He seemed to only be selling the handmade birds in the glass cabinet near the entrance. I would have loved to have been able to buy some things in there for my apartment! I don't know what the property value is here. It's probably much cheaper than in Tokyo though. My rent is a whole lot cheaper, which is why I love so far out from central Tokyo. I'm happy. 😎😎😎

17:20 I would love to be there with you. It has always been my dream to visit Japan and just walk. Nothing but walking across the land for the rest of my life. It would be so nice, but I'm struggling with money so it'll be really hard to get at least one flight.. Thank you very much for showing so much great locations and beautiful scenery. Thank you so much!

Very cool! Actually, there is a very nice model hobby shop near my house. It focuses on military vehicles, naval ships, aircraft... and car models mainly, no anime figures or anything like that from what I saw. I'll try to see if I can visit and film inside. I have a friend in Korea who builds model naval ships fulltime, large scale ones that corporations commission him to make. Very very detailed and amazing craftsmanship!

I love these walking videos. The landscapes on the properties are just beautiful. There is something just so peaceful that comes over me watching these beautiful places. I love all the different flowers and the manicured trees. I am still looking for some great Ramen bowls. ha If any of your viewers live in the Inland Empire area in California know of a authentic place with great food let me know. Please!!!

I think I may have finally found the man on RU-vid I have been looking for... LOL. I've been dying to have somebody really examine the exterior of Japanese homes, all the nooks and crannies. The gardens that take up like two feet. The parking spaces that are angled and the fencing. What's Behind the Walls Etc since you've lived there if you ever visit family who have this kind of Japanese exterior going on if you could get permission to really film up close several different homes that would be great. I've looked all over RU-vid and can't find anything like that. Secondly could you please do a video on how the hell Japanese people are able to park in such a way it looks like they will never be able to get out again. They are the most expert Parker's of anyone on the planet thanks!
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 5 лет назад
LOL Well, I'm glad I am the type who likes to investigate a lot of those things that you are interested in. Sorry I don't do it in more detail though, but if I did, the video would be 5 hours long. hahaha Japanese learn to park like that because of how premium space is. Parking stalls are sometimes more narrow than what you find in other countries. It's just 2nd hand nature to drivers here. I first learned to drive in Japan back in the late 90's, and I kind of learned to park the same way. Always reverse into a stall, and make use of your mirrors. hehe

Gardens, puppies, and mystery places. What more could anyone ask for? It is raining in Vancouver so I need as much sun as I can get. And the quality of this one is totally good! I wanted to ask you how long does it take to plan a route for one of these walks? I know you are the Prince of the Meander but do you do research before? I have said it before and I will say it again you are the best tour guide we have ever experienced. You make everything sound interesting. (I love the term "crowdy") Anyhooo brilliant vid and see You again real soon.
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 5 лет назад
I don't really plan these videos. Sometimes I just look at Google Maps and see a destination, and then just kind of walk randomly towards that. Or other times, I just walk somewhere, and then randomly start filming without any destination in mind. Crowdy is real! hahahaha Thanks for watching!!!!

Do you use the walking up on Google Maps out of curiosity? And in Japan do they still not have real addresses or has that been rectify? Thanks for your vids may your walking shoes always be cushioned your direction always be clear end excitement around every corner!
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 5 лет назад
I'm not sure what the "walking up" thing is on Google Maps. But I do use Google Maps often to get a general sense of direction, as well as save all future restaurants I want to go to... or other places of interest. To my knowledge everywhere in Japan has a real address. Was there something that said some people didn't have an address or something? I definitely need some proper walking shoes, something worth investing in. Right now, my cheap knock-off Nike shoes from Vietnam are working but they aren't comfortable. I need to do some research now that I live in a country that sells legit shoes!

I really love this video. I guess you try to stay away from caffeine because of your anxiety issues. I don´t know. I´m just guessing, but I suffer from anxiety attacks and caffeine doesn´t mess me up. Alcohol clearly does, but not coffee. That´s just my own experience as a guy about your age.

Thanks for enjoying the video! Yeah, I noticed that when I drink coke or other drinks with lots of caffeine, my anxiety goes up a lot. Same after drinking alcohol a lot... the next day is very uncomfortable. In general, I'm just trying to avoid those types of drinks and enjoy more tea and water. 😁

It's a blend of modern style homes and older Japanese style homes. I feel that is pretty common for most areas of Japan. Of course the further you go out into the countryside, the more likely it is to run into towns with nothing but older Japanese style homes.
@DeannaLee
@DeannaLee 5 лет назад
The streets are so narrow...they don't appear to be one way. How does that work?
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 5 лет назад
In Japan, small streets are a normal thing. Land is at a premium since most of the country is mountainous. Japan is full of tiny cars as well, which helps navigating the small streets. When two cars come upon each other on a small road, one gives way for the other to pass by. That's the norm. Sometimes it turns into a battle, because everyone is so polite, they always want the other person to go first. hehehe In other countries, in that kind of situation, people would be fighting to go first with a "me me me first" mentality. Not in Japan.

I was curious . Do individual people own the vending machines that are on their property or is it private company's? Does the home owner get a percentage of the sales?
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 5 лет назад
That's a question I'd like to find out too. I've seen vending machines literally in people's driveways of their home. It made me wonder if they get a % or what... If I find out, I'll let ya know.
@superchatoalien4905

Yes home owner gets a percentage from beverage company or individual people buy beverages and sell on their own vending machine.

Japan is cleaner than Korea, but Korea is still clean for the most part. Both countries recycle and sort their trash. it also depends on where you go. Both countries have places where there is a lot of street trash.... but in general, Japan and Korea are clean countries. Korea's air pollution is worse, though.
