It's ok not to be ok. The one positive thing about it is that you will find out who your real friends are. You will be surprised how many people you thought you had on your side are not what you thought they were. However on the other hand, people who you thought were not on your side will go out of their way to help you. I hope you find peace my friend.

I'm glad you made this video, Daniel. I took a break around Christmas time. I didn't upload for about a month. I still enjoy creating but my problem is money. I have a day job and I have the opportunity to possibly make a lot of money selling life insurance. But I really wanna make money thru creating content. But I'm not yet. So I'm just kinda confused of what direction I wanna go to bring in more income.

You hit the nail on the head, The last 4 years have been the same for me the creative side takes a hit after and life just throws the last stone and the window finally breaks and you get hit after hit then you're finally almost a ground powder- but as a phoenix, you finally get the chance to take a step back, take a deep breath and say we are all human and we all have feeling and face the problems the biggest fail is asking for that help either from a friend, family member or vent to a random person to see that we are but two people with the same life issues and the only escape we have is to be creative with our minds so that we don't get lost in a whole dark place and don't just exist - we share our thoughts and we let our content be an escape to the millions of people struggling silently, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Keep your feet on the ground and reach for the stars! you are loved/ cared for AND we are HERE!

As A 40+ yr Mental Health Nurse, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your openness. When we struggle with our mental health we often feel we are the only ones, nobody will understand, but the more we talk and are open, the more we realise we are not alone, and more people "get it" then we realise. We are living in difficult times, with lots of pressure and stress. I can only echo your message, "talk to someone" it really does help. I'm sure other comments have beat me to it, but for you, take the time you need, do the stuff you like, look after yourself. YT will still be there. as will your followers. The "followers" that don't stick around, you don't need! Best wishes...

This King is so upfront and down to earth. I myself lost all of my money last year and had to move back in with my Mum and I'm now stuck in a tiny bedroom with barely any space/privacy to make content until I can save up enough money to get another place. Life is hard. Sometimes it screws us over, sometimes we screw up, but as our Brother Daniel said, it's ok to take time for yourself, and I think that's something that we should all value more. Us content creators love what we do, but we are still everyday people, much like our audiences. Thankfully, our viewers are generally awesome people and understand this, that it certianly helps if/when we might feel guilty about taking time away from the computer. Much love, Daniel! Hope everything improves for you and feel better soon! You and your channel have really helped me over the past 2 years! Stay awesome!

Combined with having a lot to say to her, due to issues in the past, but not being able to express this to her due to our deteriorated bond is immensely difficult. She's still my mother and I never wanted her to go through something like this, even though we have a rocky relationship, makes it excruciating. Daniel, appreciate your vulnerability and honesty! As a fellow solo creator, your message is so relatable. This might sound a little odd, but a few years ago I started taking several different types of supplements including mushrooms (not THOSE kind!) - Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, Chaga, Turkey Tail, etc. My husband had watched some videos detailing research about the link between certain mushrooms and improved brain function. They are fairly cheap and widely available, and I will say that I've noticed a difference in my ability to work and function throughout the day. One thing to know is that after a while, you kind of don't notice the effects or think they're doing much, but when I stopped taking them for a few days I was pretty irritable so there may be some withdrawal symptoms. I also take some immunity boosters and hormone balancing stuff for women, plus a 1/2 teaspoon a day of Green Pasture Fermented Cod Liver Oil and Concentrated Butter Oil (for overall health). Obviously I know this isn't a magic fix all, but maybe worth a shot to look into some health supplements or homeopathic treatment if you are struggling with the day-to-day. You could also check in with your doctor to see if there's anything they would recommend. Take care of yourself and lean into your support system of family & friends!

I also find it hard sometimes to come up with new ideas - esp when there are emotional bombs going off in the household, or when I've just not had enough sleep (usually caused by the aforementioned bombs!!). Bravo to you, Daniel, for talking about this. Society too often tells us that any struggle with mental health is something to “just power through.” But rest - true rest - is often what we need. I have battled depression since my dad died in 2020. It wasn’t until last year when I started therapy that I could see any kind of “light” in the world. When a close family member had a recurrence of cancer last fall, I knew I had to take a break from my channel. It was hard, because I was just starting to get back in the swing. But I knew that in the long run, giving myself time to rest was going to be the healthier thing to do. To anyone reading this comment - if you’re struggling, talk to someone. You don’t have to “tough it out.” There is light.

Way to take a down moment for you and turn it into a learning experience for everyone else. Well done, sir. 🙏 In a weird way. I'm almost the opposite....Sometimes I get anxiety and I find that working on videos and turning to my creativity actually helps me defuse is or at least take my mind off things for a bit, which is all you need some times to get back on track. ❤

So valuable. I feel that struggle with every fiber of my being. Since I had gotten sick, I have been unmotivated and just flat… it’s been a year and a half and it’s either become my new identity or a set of excuses built on a string foundation… hard to really discern which. Thanks for sharing Daniel. Appreciate this message very much.

Daniel: I hear you brother. Mental health is a very important aspect of life that many people don't invest enough energy to keep in check. I know this because I deal with it on a minute by minute basis in my life. Most people see me on my channel as a comedian because of the content I produce. Many people see me on the outside as a fun guy that can make light of almost any situation, but what they don't see is the pain, struggles, heartbreaks and loss I have to go through just to make light of those situations. They only really see how I react and how I deal with the events that cause me pain. From being bullied (literally tortured by 6 guys all at the same time) for 10 years to finally blowing the cork off the bottle that I pushed all that pain into, and emerging into the one person nobody wanted to cross paths with on a bad day, to learning how to be a better person, the ups and downs of my life have been huge. I have to deal with the realization that sometimes if I don't check my emotions from going too far to one side or the other, I could revert back to that person I don't ever want to emerge from me again. I've used comedy to make all my problems not feel so bad, but at the same time, when I re-tell the events in the way I can to make people laugh, I have to re-live every incident all over again. But it's part of bringing laughter to the world, and it is what creates a sense of happiness in me to create happiness for others. Most people see comedians as people that nothing bothers them because they make things funny. But the opposite is true. Comedians just have a different way of coping with their personal struggles, failures, and follies in life. They use humor to invoke the mind into seeing things in an obscure way so that a traumatic experience doesn't seem so bad. Or a bad relationship seems to ridiculous in nature to be involved with. Sometimes I have to take a step back myself, when I'm feeling really edgy and on the edge of anger. I've been through anger management training to learn where my limits are and when I need to close myself off for a while. But just like a very successful person once told me, "Sometimes you have to take a step backwards in order to run a few mile forwards" I wish you well on your path, and know that you will once again bring on the positivity that you always present. Peace Love and Happiness my friend.

I love watching your videos and used guys like you as an inspiration to start my own RU-vid channel a few years back now. I had trouble even talking on camera so I tried to mimic what I saw from people like you, Kevin the Basic Filmmaker, Andre, Worth it or Not which at least got me making videos. Then I collapsed in the middle of making one video (after a terrible sweat) and went to hospital only to find that I have atrial fibrillation. So now, every video I make is a personal struggle for me because I get exhausted very quickly. Making videos gives me a daily purpose but I have found that weekly or even twice weekly was making me keel over. I was fainting, sweating, passing out, getting AF attacks and looking white on camera. So now, I pace myself. Small amounts every day or so and the videos go out when they’re done. That takes the pressure off. I work at my own pace and discovered the pleasure of making them again instead of them being a strain on me to get them out on time. When I think about it now, I was being a nutcase, making videos while having AF attacks for fear of losing my audience. Now I’ve slowed down, the audience has remained. Many of them are really loyal watchers and really, I’m making the videos for them. My audience is only tiny but they have become ‘friends’ to me and they make it really worthwhile. Video when you have the inspiration Daniel; the videos will be better and you’ll feel better about them. Health is SO important. Something you find out when you are Ill…….

I am separated and I don't get to see my daughter often enough. However the days I'm not seeing her are the days I'm creating my videos and that's helping me cope. And yes, there are times that I don't feel like doing any videos, that I just want to sleep. Times that I struggle to get the right content out, so I postpone it. And that's ok. I get where you're coming from, Daniel. I lost one of my best friends back in December, and it threw everything out of whack for me. Trying to keep people around has been incredibly difficult as almost all of my friends and family are scattered across the globe, closest ones being some hundred miles away. It wasn't until this past weekend where I got some fuel to write something for a video that wasn't for work. Remember that things take time. Don't rush out of your feelings. Let yourself process, cope, and find your way out of the muck for as long as you need to.

Take as much time as you would like, we will still be here for you when you get back. When I get overworked or stressed, I like to do high-adrenaline things; Skydiving, running, singing, racing. I’ve just gone through prostate cancer and at only 49. I used my channel as a voice to show my fears but also then after successful treatment to spread awareness and to raise money for the charity here in the UK that helped me through it. I’m a watchmaking channel but i found myself talking about cancer. It was cathartic for me and the response was overwhelming support. I’ve always worn my heart on my sleeve and found voicing it to anyone and everyone helps make any problem smaller even one that was as frightening as mine. I learnt to always stay positive no matter what and that live goes on . Take care mate. Time will heal
